A engaging, action-packed addition to the world with lots of fun, new creatures and animals. Would make a great book to read out loud to kids before bed.

Darel and Gee are back again but there is more to save then just the Amphibilands. This time the Spider Queen is up to no good. She wants to control all the water in the Outback. She targets the Platypus tribe because of their connection to the Rainbow Serpent.
This sequel is as good as the first. More friends and enemies are added and there is more about Australia. There is lots of action. There are beautiful illustrations. This is a good book for boys who find excuses not to read especially if they have any interest in frogs, Australia or know who Trevor Price is from his football days.
Spoilers: it ends on a cliffhanger.

I love this series! I love that it's set in the Outback, I love the further development of the secondary characters and introduction of new ones. Yay platypuses! Platypi? Can't wait to see how the story ends

A good book made better because it was a shared literary journey with my kids (5 and 6)

Reading the first book might make this part 2 a bit easier to understand - lots of animal characters in the Australian outback try to thwart the evil spider queen from stealing all the water. Fun wisecracking warrior frogs think the platypuses are "all furry, beaky and goofy". I adored the platypus village, but even with the pics, map and character chart in the front the story was hard to follow.

I feel dirty loving this series so. I'm an adult an all, and sometimes I try to act as such. Most of the time I don't and I read cartoon novels about fighting frogs written by ex-NFL players. It happens.

Waited for a long time for this book (hold at the library). Worth the wait! Loved the first book and loved everything about this book, too. Enjoyable, approachable characters.
