I don't have any plans to go to Europe, but if I did, I'd do it on a budget. This book is helpful in that regard, but parts of it are already dated (hi there, technology!) but mostly the low score I give it reflects that if you're not really planning on going, something like this better either really inspire you to go, or just have rather limited value for you. Sure, I'm curious to go, but not really inspired.

this book was a great resource for traveling to europe with a budget in mind! resulted in helpful notes on the countless traveling topics. i definitely plan to reference the book for my future european adventures which i anticipate to be more travel-oriented and on-the-move. (read during the extended layer over on my way to spain).

This is a really good beginner level book on backpacking. It's not only just good for Europe, anyone can use the tips and advices on other places too. If you haven't travelled alone yet, this can be the start to know the essentials. Highly recommended for beginners.

Interesting, engaging, easy to digest, full of good advice that will hopefully work. If I bump it up to 5 stars in a couple months, let's assume it did. Now I know what hostels actually are, and how to be pretend-homeless overseas for a while.

Great starter book for my trip planning, but it is 10 years old, so some stuff was out dated.
