Some say history repeats itself, but for Terran, an Earth Elemental, history has returned and slapped him in the face. Along the Willamette River in Portland, Oregon, the Acobi Fallen Angels have decided to go underground-literally.
Resurrecting an ancient legend, the evil Acobi are trapping underage girls and shanghaiing innocent humans into slavery. Terran must stop the Acobi and keep the public away from the Shanghai tunnels, all while keeping his supernatural powers hidden.
Kelly Habersham, overachieving real estate developer, has finally convinced her father and brothers to give her the Portland condo project, which would require extensive construction near the tunnels. Determined to impress her father and make a name for herself in the family business, she is not about to let a Save-the-Earth guy get in her way.
Terran and Kelly must work together and come to a truce--or they may be the next victims.
All Kelly Habersham ever wanted was for her father and siblings to accept her for who and what she is. For as long as she could remember, she's lived in their shadows. They've sought success within the corporate world, achieving anything they put their minds to. She's tried her best to fit in their shoes, but nothing she seems to do sets her apart from them.
Determined to stake her claim on the world around her, Kelly immerses herself in a project she's been given. She's hell-bent on showing her father and brothers that she really can hold her own. In her mind, she'll be able to reassert herself when the time comes. Deep inside, she knows that's easier said than done. Nevertheless, she refuses to give up.
When the project takes an unexpected turn, Kelly starts to wonder as to what's going on. Terran's presence seems a tad questionable, since he's appeared just when things seem to be looking up for her. Still, there's no way she's going to let everything pass her by. Somehow, some way, she'll gain Terran's trust, and turn things around in her favor.
As tension rises and secrets of the past pop out of the woodwork, Kelly begins to wonder if she's way in over her head. The project itself seems a little too good to be true. Granted, she's not exactly sure as to how things really are. If she can get things back on track, perhaps the project can go ahead as planned. The question is, how can she do that when so much keeps coming her way in so short a time?
While I've come into this series via the third book, Earthbound is the type of story that truly does stand alone. It does give the reader insights on certain things from previous books, at least from what I've been able to glean while reading. That's a good thing, of course. I enjoyed getting to know Terran and the other Elementals that popped up in this story. The twist on good versus evil is certainly refreshing. Definitely looking forward to catching on the previous books as well as what's to come in the future for this series.

This was my favorite book of the series. The thing I like the most about this series is that although characters from previous books are mentioned, each book is a stand alone story with it's own beginning and ending.
"Evil wasn't an ugly troll with a pitchfork. Evil enticed, allured, and sucked in anything in its orbit." This phrase perfectly describes the Fallen Angels and their behavior. Dimitrov was the strangest Fallen Angel leader by far. For an evil guy he has an awful lot of phobias. There was something strange going on with him but I never found out what it was, hopefully this will be addressed in the next book.
Terran has become my favorite Elemental. I loved his attitude and the way he treated Kelly. He is a true gentleman. I also like that he is sort of a hippie guy. Kelly is strangled by her family hold on her and she is confused and stressed. There are also some unresolved issues from her past that she needs to deal with. I liked her character, I found her to be very realistic.
My favorite character in this series has been Mercury. I would love to know what his back story is. He is stern and comical, quite the combination. I love the authors description of him. I can visualize him in my mind.
This is a wonderful, well written story and it was a very quick read. I would recommend this book to both adults and YA readers.

I give this book a five star cause this is by far my favorite among the three. In my opinion, this has more action and more story. The Hippie-go-lucky gentleman met the uptight well-groomed princess.
*I knew that Sadie was a fraud right from the start. She was too much too handle and poor Terran doesn't even know what to do with her. He was just smitten by her charms.
*There are moments that Terran needs to learn DATING 101. He looks like an ass seeing Sadie and Kelly at the same time, but who can blame him he's an Elemental.
*I love Kelly Habersham, the daughter who has been push back and set aside by her own family. The girl who just want to make her family proud. And then the she met Terran the carefree and nature lover guy, they did have their differences but after she found her place and the truth about her life, she gained the confidence to stand-up for herself. As the saying goes,"The truth shall set you free." In the end both Terran and Kelly found each other and what they've been looking for.
IT WAS A GREAT READ! and I can't wait for Tempest's story.
P.S. Terran's human life is the kind of life I like... carefree, stress-free and freelance photography.

Book three of the Elemental Clans, and heaven help me it is the hottest one yet. In this installment we get to follow Terran an earth elemental who has been tracking the fallen angel clan the Acobi who have been capturing young girls in underground caverns. Never one to break the rules that Universe has put forth, Terran has never really had much interaction with humans that is until he saves Sadie from the Acobi. He finds himself strangely attracted to Sadie and unable to let her go even when she does things that are less than desirable. In the midst of his desire to be with Sadie, he is instructed by Universe to get to know Kelly a real estate developer who is wanting to build near the tunnels the Acobi are trapping teenage girls in. This story kept me on the edge of my seat wanting to tell Terran myself that Sadie was evil and that he should be with Kelly. My only regret is that I wish I could've got to see more of Kelly and Terran's relationship unfold before the end of the story. As always Elaine Calloway has written a captivating story leaving me begging for more! This has been a fantastic series to read so far, and I am anxiously awaiting the next book!

I'm so glad that I continued reading this series despite the previous books but I must say that this has been far my favorite. Although there were some times I felt bored but then again I wanted to read the interesting parts already. I really like Kelly. Despite her father and brothers lack of trust for her, she showed them what she's capable of and she wouldn't give up. I find that kind of strength very endearing. I can kind of relate to her situation where in she wants to figure what she wants to do in her life. It's very realistic.
The relationship between Terran and Kelly may started slow and has taken a bit of a twist and turn but along the way, I find that it fits the story, it fits them. I'm happy that Kelly has someone like Terran who is able to support, be by her side, and tells the right things that needed to be said.
It may seem like a normal story flow but then it includes the fallen angels/elementals which adds a whole new twist to the story that makes it unique.

Terran is an Earth Elemental. Just think – wouldn’t it be great to be one with nature? I would totally love this power. This is just an observation, but it seems like when we are dealing with Good vs. Evil, the good guys play by the rules and the bad guys always break them. This is a good series, but the Author needs to give the Elementals more backbone. I have this odd feeling that they save people merely but luck half the time. They seem weak sometimes compared to the Fallen Angels. It makes me yell out loud and walk away only to come back later to continue reading because I need to know what is going to happen next and I want the Elementals to prevail! I am finding this series enjoyable, but sometimes frustrating. At first Kelly really got on my nerves, but by the end of the book I loved her character. I think this series is going to get better and better as it goes, but it is a light read.
I enjoyed the theme of the book, a twist on Good vs. Evil. The plot was creative and refreshing. Ms. Calloway did an excellent job of describing the environment, so much so it practically became a character in it's own right, which played into the elemental concept seamlessly. Very well done. I liked the 'hippie' vs. corporate gal conflict as well.
I was not so crazy about the head hopping. I prefer to stay in the heads of the hero and heroine for a romance novel. And I didn't care much for the telling. Instead of becoming part of the book (my favorite thing about reading), I felt very much like an observer. There were a few typos and grammar errors, and that always throws me right out of the story. All in all, I only gave it three stars, not because of the story as much as the execution. I think it would have benefited from a little more polishing is all.
I was given this book for an honest review. This book was awesome. I thought the story line was very unique. I haven't come across anything like this. I like that the hero didn't fall right in love with the girl. He chose someone else and you got to watch him realize what he wanted. I also liked how the heroine didn't sit around with poor me syndrome. Between the Elemental and Fallen Angels it was a great story. I admit I got a little bored at times but I think that was because I was so anxious to see what was going to happen and how everything would come to a head in the end. Also there really wasn't much drama in the book. No cheating or arguments and stuff. All in all I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be buying the rest of the series.
Calloway took us to New Orleans and then New York. Now it's off to Portland, Oregon for the Earth elemental's turn against his own band of fallen angel enemies. Earthbound almost reads more like a contemporary romance than a paranormal. Tarren's strained relationships with two women take center-stage in his bid to stop the Acobi bad guys in their tracks. Those who live in Portland will recognize much of the scenery including Voodoo Donuts and Powell's bookstore. Universe is tweaking the rules. And Lucifer? He just might be taking notes.
I enjoyed getting to know all the characters, both hero and villan. I especially liked the believability if their actions and motivations within the series' world. I look forward to reading more in this series. Tempest looks to be a very intetestii character.
