This is an anthology of humorous science fiction stories that originally appeared in Astounding SF magazine, which was renamed Analog in 1960, between 1940 and 1981. There are some good, funny stories, though I think the selection could have been better and more well rounded. (No Spider Robinson or Thiotimoline or Murray Leinster or...?) The authors include Isaac Asimov, Gordon R. Dickson, Poul Anderson, Lewis Padgett (a pseudonym of Henry Kuttner and C.L. Moore, the only female author in the book), L. Sprague de Camp, Christopher Anvil, andrew j. offutt (in capitol letters, hmmm...), Joe Haldeman, etc. My favorite is Eric Frank Russell's Allamagoosa, the award-winning, all-time best shaggy dog story.
Meh. Borrowed it from the library, didn't finish it, didn't see a reason to. Maybe I'll get it again. The book is from 1982 but the stories are from before I was born and are a bit dated. The future tech is quite quaint now.
