What an explosive fifth book!
Ava Marie Salinger has managed to create something truly magical with this series: it's exciting, action-packed and complex, romantic and steamy and an absolute joy to read. A series I'd wholly recommend to all lovers of paranormal and fantasy novels.

I definitely loved the previous book just a smidge more (Theo and Victor STILL have me in a complete chokehold), but "Harbinger" was still a fantastic read.
I think the world-building got a tad overwhelming for me this time around: I don't mind the new side characters, especially considering how much I ADORED certain badass trouble-maker Goddesses, but yeah. I got a bit confused at times by the sheer amount of new (and old) terminology and by the constant discoveries. And also, although I DO adore the new side characters of the last few books, I still loved it more when the spotlight was on Morgan's team of misfits and disasters.
Anyway, these are minor complaints of mine, because I still loved the rest of the book.

"Harbinger" is as action-packed as its predecessors, as sexy and funny and high-stakes, but it's also much more emotional.
I spent most of the book on the edge of my seat, my whole heart firmly lodged in my throat: I won't spoil but I wasn't expecting how gut-wrenching some scenes would be. Cassius and Morgan go through A LOT this time around, and I honestly nearly cried a few times.
I also loved that this book was a bit more Morgan-centric than the previous ones; we get to see a new side to their relationship, a highly emotional, heart-stoppingly romantic one that clearly makes the reader see and understand how deep their bond is, how perfect they are together as soulmates.
Also, a thing I suspected kind of happened (or, will happen, even though I'm still not sure how it will happen) and I'm absolutely ecstatic.

I can't wait to read the next and final book in this fantastic, magical series. I already know the conclusion to Cassius and Morgan's journey will be absolutely epic and 100% satisfying.

Overall, this series is not only all over the place but also goes nowhere. After reading 5 books, I’m done. I won’t be reading the next and I wouldn’t recommend the series.

Before I go into depth on this series. I’ll say I find it incredibly disgusting this story (Harbinger) opens with a plague that only kills people in South America, Africa, and Asia. Sure the plague hit the southern hemisphere but SOMEHOW Australia avoids any deaths. It JUST so happens that the three continents with majority BIPOC people are the ones where EVERYONE dies. It’s so weird cause Cassius has allegedly saved the world innumerable times but when all the melanated people are dying, no one calls him. He’s not even aware of it. OK. Yea, that’s not AT ALL problematic. Nothing to see here, no unconscious bias at all. Just “interesting” choices made by the author.

The series is your typical underdog good guy (who also happens to have crazy OP powers) has to defeat some great evil. The failures in this series is that the characters’ motivations are nonexistent. Elios has no reason for what he’s doing so it all just seems really vapid. Why does he want to release Chaos? Why does he hate Cassius? No reason is given and even the scenes from his POV just produce a guy who is evil just because. Hence vapid. Also, Cassius doesn’t really have a motivation either. He just wants to live and fuck Morgan (no one is mad at that lol). However, a protagonist and antagonist with no motivations leads to a series with no driving force. It just comes off as boring and I don’t connect with them. It feels like a mishmash of events that don’t really matter.

Furthermore, this issue causes so many downstream impacts. Since there’s no motivation or character desire, the characters tend to be reactive. They don’t make change instead they just react to every odd thing the author decides to throw at them. It comes off as disjointed. Additionally, since the characters are reactive often there are deus ex machina plot devices where some random entity will fly in and save the day. Or there’s some random power upgrade that’s retroactively explained through info dumps. In fact, I hypothesize, about 50% of this book is info dumps. And it’s all info dumps that aren’t pertinent to the current story. Like really, do I need CHAPTERS of them talking about their lives pre-Fall. Instead of solving the issue at hand they’re gabbing about shit that happened hundreds of years ago and it’s not shit that would help them to defeat the current issue.

Another issue is the clunky world building. The author is trying to combine so many different mythologies and fantasy species. There’s a ton of Greek Mythology influence. Christian Mythology. And that doesn’t include the witches, sorcerers, warlocks, and so many demons. The issue though is that none of it makes sense to the story. Actually, it would be better to say that none of the world building is developed enough to be memorable. We have Argent Lake home of the Nereids. But there’s also Astrea Sea home of the Naiads. Now just two would be ok, but multiply that by 10 and now you can see how difficult it is to keep up. And now combine that with the lackluster plot and character development. What do you have? Clunky world building that doesn’t work with the story. It’s all over the place but goes nowhere. It’s so frustrating because it’s unnecessary. For example, in this story we meet 9 goddesses: the morai, black fates, and furies. Each group has 3 different sisters. That’s 9 characters to keep track but we’re given nothing in regards to defining characteristics. I think at most all we get are names and hair color. They all blend together to such a point they become indistinguishable. What’s the point of having all these supernatural creatures when none of them standout. This series needed an editor BADLY!

Lastly, the author really needs to take an improv class or something because her situational context and timing is fucking horrible. It’s asinine that mid-fight Cassius and Theo run to make out with their significant others. It’s asinine that during a super important meeting with the head of Argo and their boss in the room, Cassius and Theo are crying into the shoulders of their loved ones. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for emotions and expressing them but babes you’re supposed to be saving the world and you’re crying because you feel guilty. It just comes off as stupid. I think what bothers me the most about this characterization is that it mimics how misogynist authors write women. Also all the poorly timed jokes with Kes wanting to bang Cassius is weird. I don’t understand how you’re recounting years of trauma and torture that you’ve experienced. And out of nowhere you’re like “I wanna bang Cassius.”

The series lacks a story, a plot, character development, and at times common sense. I get it’s fiction but friends can we at least make it make sense. It would also help if the author took an anatomy class because men don’t have “taut folds protecting [their] passage.” I wanted to like this series but damn it really fought hard to make me dislike it.

The tag menage is not about the MCs(they would never share LOL), but about a friend/collegue of them that is in a relationship with a demon and an angel.

In this book we met the Fates, sisters of Morgan and Victor. They were imprisoned and abused by Elios that needed their blood to forge weapons that would open the Abyss, where Chaos their grandfather is, bcs he wants to free him. We saw a bit of all characters we met until now(Eden's mom, Brianne is pregnant), like we usually do in all books, once they are presented...But here the MCs are still Cassius and Morgan.

Let's be sincere these two always think about sex, their passion is still the same as if they just met and fell in love.

I forgot if is here that we met Cassius and Roengar's sister(younger than them), Kalliste, and she is in love(mutual) with the woman that commands her reign's army. She is the queen of Nymphs, bcs her grandmother(and Cassius and Roengar's) was the first queen and goddess of the Nymphs.

Anyway I forgot a lot about the plot...But I remember that the Dryads have a way to make couples of the same sex able to have a child, and Cassius and Morgan are seriously thinking about it.

They need first destroy Elios, though.

4 stars.

Wow, I jus love this series and I think each book is at least as good as the last one.
This book had me biting my nails and fighting tears.
I won't go into details as I don't want to spoiler things, just know this must be read in order to understand the story

I just love Cassius and Morgan really grew on me ... especially in this book.

Besides Cassius and Morgan, we also get to know the goddesses of fate, which makes things interesting 😉

All in all a great addition and I can't wait for the next one ... even if it will be the last in this series.

Harbinger is the fifth book in the Fallen Messengers series. The events that happened in this book occurred just a short time after Oathbreaker. The story brought so many highs and lows for our protagonists.

The relationship between Cassius and Morgan still remains as one of the strongest aspect and I did enjoy how their love for each other helped them overcome one of their biggest trial yet. The lore despite nearing the end kept on expanding and we get to have a plethora of new characters. We finally got a more solid appearance by Elios and he sure made a good number of enemies.

This was a really fast paced book with just a few moments to breathe. I did enjoy myself while reading, but there were times when I felt that everything was going way too fast and had me question how some things were going to be resolved.

As much as I liked the new characters, the story felt overcrowded and I felt like I didn't have enough time to actually feel connected to these people like I did with the rest. They were interesting but I found no emotional connection to them.

Overall, this was an entertaining and fast-paced read with high stakes and likeable characters. I did have a good time and I recommend reading the previous books of the series before jumping into this. Don't expect to understand what is going on if you do start with this one.

This would be a 3.75 stars out of 5 stars.

I received an ARC of this book and I have chosen to publish my fair and honest review.

This is one of the most amazing series I've ever read. I'll begin honestly that for me the 1st book is still the topper of this series. In this book a lot of new characters are introduced that it became a little bit overwhelming for me to follow. But I also understand it is necessary to start bringing the plot to a close since it is the penultimate book of the series.

Morgan and Cass, again, managed to steal, capture, torture and heal my heart. Theo and Victor also finally showed some partnership emotions.Morgan's team has less appearance in this one. Things are still getting revealed that honestly it feels like I am playing levels of a video game. It became a bit difficult for me to follow what all has already happened and when. (And on a side note can we please stop having Theo shout his spells??? It was giving such Pokémon vibes to me, I swear I couldn't help but snort whenever that came up)

But like all previous books it was funny and emotional and action packed and heart warming. Some mysteries have begun in this book which I can't wait to see how they unfold. I am gonna miss this series like hell when it gets over.

CW’s and CN’s at the end.

*Mild spoilers for the previous books in the series*

Ava Marie Salinger continues to expand the world of the Fallen Messengers series in really compelling and interesting ways. I’m always eager to see what new elements of this world will be layered into the story and Harbinger did not disappoint while also weaving in characters and story elements that have already been introduced.

I think what I liked best about this novel was the slight tonal shift to something a little more intense and emotional. While there was still breakneck action and the fast-paced battle scenes that I’ve come to expect, certain elements slowed down in the wake of the tense situation Cassius and Morgan are going through. The stakes are suddenly devastatingly high and force both characters as well as those who love them to face some real fears head-on. The juxtaposition of wildly powerful characters who have breathtaking abilities also experiencing very human emotions was very powerful and it added a layer of poignancy that I really enjoyed (and cried over!). I particularly enjoyed what this arc meant for Cassius and his emotional arc and we continued to see his unabashed vulnerability and his devotion to Morgan amidst his awe-inspiring capabilities as a Demigod. The introduction of the Black Fates, the Furies, the Fates and the Hesperides added another really interesting dynamic to the story and further filled out this complex larger arc of the story and Elios’s sinister plans. As in previous books of the novel, the new characters always create some really fascinating directions for the main protagonists alongside having their own fleshed-out arcs as well. I’m really excited to see more of them in the future especially given the implications of what Elios is up to.

Yet another very exciting and gripping novel in this fantastic series and 5 big stars all the way!

CW’s: grief and anxiety; torture and enslavement (nothing too graphically described); some violence

CN’s: This is an urban fantasy novel that blends the lore of angels and demons with that of Classical mythology. It is a high-action and high-heat novel with on-page sex scenes. This book is the fifth in the series and does need to be read in order. I received an ARC via GRR Tours and voluntarily reviewed it.

Elios, the God of Darkness, is really upping the ante in this the fifth installment of the Fallen Messengers series (this is really not the place to start these books…the series must be read in order) as it's revealed how he's been able to manipulate divine power to attack both Earth and other realms. It's a good job Morgan, Cassius and their band of brothers (and sisters) are on hand to figure out what he's up to and stem the tide of the plague sweeping across the worlds.

I don't think it can be overstated how much I f’love the soul bond between Morgan/Ivmir and Cassius/Icarus. These two characters together bring moments of amazing humour, heat, tenderness...and just love in its purest form. The trials and tribulations they go through in Harbinger take us on a huge roller coaster of emotions that has your heart swooping and soaring in your chest time and again.

The already big supporting cast grows even more in this book, with existing favourites from Cassius and Morgan's family ties and Argonaut colleagues being joined by a bunch of brilliantly funny, powerful, yet vulnerable Goddesses. There's definitely the sense that Team Cassius and Morgan is growing and getting stronger to face whatever is coming in the next (and last) installment.

No spoilers here, but the plot gives us great twists and turns that feed into the exciting action sequences and quest-like elements that have you on the edge of your seat. The writing of the sweet and swoony (and scorching) parts is just as fantastic. Bring on the next book…it's going to be epic and I'm already scheduling my series hangover for when it's all over. For now, though, it's 5* from me for Harbinger.

An ARC was provided by GRR. This is my honest review.

Harbinger (Fallen Messengers 5)
BY Ava Marie Salinger
Published by the author, 2022
Four stars

Oh, My, God. I thought my head was going to explode by the end of this one—and that’s pretty much the way everybody in the story feels, too.

Elios, the God of Darkness, has been up to no good for 500 years—ever since the war that ripped open the Nether and sent angels and demons crashing down into the human world. For the first time, we are allowed to see Elios’s long game, before any of our immortal friends in San Francisco’s various supernatural police departments get in on the secret.

Bottom line: gods think long-term, and bad gods think really bad.

Meanwhile, as the various denizens of the long-lost Nether begin to regain their memories, their relationships begin to shift dramatically—and they also regain awareness of their ability to access what they assumed were worlds lost to them. As Elios’s nasty agenda becomes clearer, the desperate need to find a way to fight him grows ever more urgent.

Right at the center of this are Cassius Black and Morgan King—now revealed to be demi-gods with an especially critical bond with each other. Aided both by their friends and colleagues from the various human-world agencies assigned to oversee supernatural goings-on, Ivmir and Icarus (as they now know they are) lead the team.

Surprises keep cropping up, as ancient history resurfaces with new threats, but also new reasons to fight harder. Long-lost kinships and forgotten alliances suddenly become important as Cassius and Morgan search lost worlds for answers and assistance.

All the while a larger question remains: will all the fallen messengers, who have lived with humans for half a millennium now, be allowed to remain on earth once they have achieved their mission?

Harbinger is a fantastic penultimate book in the Fallen Messengers series. As with the previous five books, it's full of highs and lows for our MC's, Cassius (Icarus/The Awakener) and Morgan (Ivmir).
With a contagion threatening Earth and the Dryad realm, Cassius and Morgan decide to split up and cover more ground to try and solve the problem. However, that brings more pain to them but also brings saviours in the form of several Moirai, goddesses of Destiny. These women have been to hell and back, quite literally, and are searching for ways to save their sisters, the realms and defeat Elios. Together the group work to save one of their own with the clock counting down and Elios is still planning and fighting to free Chaos from the Abyss, with history and secrets revealed throughout as to what he's done and is doing to help bring his plans to fruition.
There's a lot of stress and pain for so many of the characters involved. The group who are a mixture of blood relatives amongst the gods and found family from the human realm, they make for quite the eclectic bunch but everyone brings something and you can feel the strong bonds that have developed between them all. Cassius and Morgan, especially, with their soul bond being tested to its absolute limit. The action scenes are fast paced and full of drama while the more intense scenes are packed with emotion.
I'm both excited for and dreading the last book of the series as it means we will finally reach the conclusion of the story with, hopefully, a HEA for our heroes and all the realms. This is a fantastic urban fantasy series that I've highly enjoyed from the start and definitely recommend.
I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.

I can't believe I just finished the fifth book in the Fallen Messengers series by Ava Marie Salinger. Harbinger brings all the power and sex we expect in this series while introducing the ever-expanding world of the gods and goddesses Cassius Black and Morgan King must contend with.

As usual, the dark force known Elios is up to no good. At the beginning of the novel, we learn Elios has been keeping some very important figures captive since before the fall. The fates of the captives and that of the various worlds are intertwined. And this becomes even more urgent when Morgan's soul core is injured and puts him on a direct path toward death.

Giving none of the major plot points away, let's just say there are a lot of interesting things happening in this book.

As for my critique of this book, I find the head hopping awkward at times. Thankfully, it's always very clear when you've jumped into a different character's perspective, but I do wish the POV was clearer in a few places. I also wish the sex scenes were just a little more integral to the movement of the plot, but that's an admitted personal preference and not necessarily a weakness of the overall story. I just felt that the sex scenes stopped the plot's progression instead of enhanced it in a few places.

You cannot delve into Book 5 and hope to know what's going on. There has been a lot of world building and character development that really is necessary if you're going to read Book 5.

I want to thank the author/publisher for the opportunity to read an advanced reader copy. Although I am thankful for their generosity, this review is completely independent.

Action-packed, emotional urban fantasy!

Harbinger is book 5 in the Fallen Messengers series and much like the other books, this one is action-packed, with thrills, plenty of steam and some heartbreaking, emotional moments to tie it all together!

Cassius and Morgan are as swoon worthy as always and they're really put through the wringer this time. The main focus remains on these two for the most part, with some POV's from other characters. We return to some familiar places and visits some new ones. And with the addition of some goddesses and reunions between some older characters this book sets us up for the sure-to-be epic conclusion of this series!

With more answers about what happened before the Nether tore open and even more questions about what's to come, these endearing characters are preparing for the fight of their lives, but they still manage to find their joy among all the darkness that surrounds them.

The goddesses introduced in the book are funny and their relationship with Morgan and Victor is amazing to watch! I also liked the way the bond between Morgan and Victor is growing and how they're becoming closer and moving on from the events of the past.

I love the way the author is setting up this story and the world building is seriously amazing! Tying in the hidden past with the present and bringing all these characters together bit by bit is one of my favourite things about this series and I love how their bonds grow from book to book. I can't wait to see Cassius, Morgan and all the other wonderful characters get their hard-won HEA in the finale to this well-written urban fantasy!

"I will love you in this life and every life that may come after this one, in whatever form we may be reborn. So, be with me. Be mine, in every way possible."

If you aren't swooning after that heartfelt confession then you might want to check if your heart is made of ice. Just sayin' 🤷🏻‍♀️ . There are many moments like this one in Harbinger. This installment in the Fallen Messengers series has certainly packed a punch and not just in the romance department. New allies have emerged and bring with them news of just how evil Elios truly is. I think everyone can agree with me that I cannot wait until that man gets what's coming to him. Since the next book in the series is to be the last, I'm ecstatic it will happen sooner than later. I can only pray the man suffers as much as he has made others.

There wasn't a tremendous amount of steam in this one, but there is a good reason for that. We see a lot of old faces come together to fight the plague that is descending upon the worlds. You could feel the foreboding in this read. There are two things I'm certain of. The climax of the series plot arc is swiftly coming and it's not going to be easy by any means. With a title like Crimson Skies I can only guess that whatever is coming is going to be bad. Though I'm sad the series is coming to an end, I'm happy for Cassius and Morgan at least. It's about time these men get the true HEA they deserve and hopefully the last book in the series provides us with it.

Wow! What an exciting and explosive continuation of Cassius and Morgan's story. This book was absolutely gripping from start to finish. There was so much action and yet the relationships within the book always felt at the centre of everything too. I love Cassius and Morgan together; they have amazing chemistry, work together perfectly and make me laugh too, especially when Loki is around. There were parts of this book that had me crying my eyes out - I was SO invested in what happened to them and it was a huge rollercoaster ride. I thought all the secondary characters were great too. I enjoyed reading about the goddesses although I did find it quite a challenge to tell who was who when they were all apparently 'sisters'... I almost feel like I need it drawn out to keep things straight!

Overall though, this book is fantastic. It's well written, has loveable characters, has a gripping plot and leaves me eager for the last book in the series. I really hope that the HEA I think Morgan and Cassius deserve is right around the corner but I can't wait to see what final battles stand in their way. I would definitely recommend this book if you're familiar with the series and I hope that book 6 isn't too far away!

I received an ARC and this is my honest review.

I spent almost the whole book being anxious and worried. I could almost say that I got to a point in the book I released a breath I didn't know I was holding. The sigh of relief was liberating, but there's still one book left in the series, so my heart is not safe yet.
Morgan and Cassius, as usual, were magnificent. All they went through was so freaking much, I was genuinely scared, so scared that every second of chill scenes had me smiling and smirking. They deserve everything they wanted and I can't wait to see them get what they said they wanted. It's going to be perfect!
Theo and Victor had a less up and front role in this one but some things are revealed and they are still very much cuties in love and I want to hug them.
The new characters that were key of this book were both hilarious and scary. There's a plague which hit so close to home. The story is full of action, fights that will make you gasp, but also a lot of planning moments and quiet times where things might look hopeless. But Morgan and Cassius are not along in the fight and everyone have and will have an important role to defeat the darkness and keep the world from descending into chaos.
I need the last book right now!!

4.25 Stars!

As this series continues a storyline, you really need to read each book in the series in order. I'm going to avoid as many spoilers as possible in this review. The war with Elios continues in a new manner requiring Cassius and Morgan to divide their forces. As one can see from the blurb, that necessary separation has unexpected consequences.

I devoured this book in a day. I appreciate how much more comfortable Morgan is with Victor now and that they trust each other. I liked that Cassius and Morgan trust each other to do what needed to be done. I had a hard time with all the new characters and remembering who was who. The goddesses that appear are awesome, and while they can't solve the current situation, they help the best they can. I liked the trust and confidence that they all had in Cassius and his plans. I liked seeing more people welcome the sight of Cassius and give him his due. I am super curious (and I have my suspicions) about what happened at a certain point between Cassius and Morgan. I can't wait to find out if I'm correct or not.

All in all, another action-packed addition to the series. I can't wait for the next book.

Cassius Black and Morgan King as well as their teams are back in the fifth book in the Fallen Messengers Series. The earth has been attacked by a plague not of the human world. Stopping it from decimating not only the human world but also the Dryad world require Cassius and Morgan to split up. Soon they realize this is just what Elios wants. Now they are in a desperate fight to save the worlds and themselves. They are helped by the arrival of goddesses, related to both Morgan and Victor Sloan. Survival depends on locating a legendary item and Cassius refuses to give up.

So much action in Harbinger. There are new characters, new predictions, new perils and betrayals, but also new hope and new help. None of these heroes and heroines are willing to give up and each work hard even though it puts them in mortal danger. The tension is building and something must break, but when that break will come is still unknown. Until then they have each other and love to sustain them as well as a desire to defeat the enemy and save the worlds. We will all be anxiously awaiting the next book in the oh so excellent series.

The best feeling in the world is finding a series that drags you in,makes you fall in love ,addicted and leaves in on the edge o your seat with every book.

Harbinger is a fascinating fantasty story following Cassius , Morgan and their band of merry misfits. The twists and turns, the emotional ride , the world building.
My heart can't take all the highs and lows and the rollacoster of emotions but I still can't put this series down.

Harbinger was a bit more emotional than the previous books and I loved how it focused on the bond between Morgan and Cassius. It's full of epic fights with demigods, goddesses, amazing characters who make you fall in love over (Loki)and over and is funny in an unexpected way. I'm in awe of this writer and how amazing this series has turned out.

Cassius and Morgan's story has grown and expanded burrowed in my heart . I can't wait to read next book which the concludes The Fallen Messengers.

This series just keeps getting better and better. It has been a wild ride and continues to be a nail biting, seating on the edge of your seat ride. The twists and turns, the suspense, the emotional punches just kept coming. I'm still trying to recover. Morgan and Cassius went through so much in this book, didn't think my heart could take anymore hits but the author gave many reprieves with tender and humorous moments, giving my poor little heart a break. I couldn't put the book down, it gripped me from the start and never let go. I needed to know what next surprise would be revealed. And boy, were they mind blowing.
The new and known secondary characters are also very intriguing and add much to the story. Chaos continues to cause havoc in this action packed world. Morgan and Cassius steam continues to melt my kindle. Their love getting stronger and their souls becoming more entwined. I can't wait for the next book and read the conclusion of this awesome, thrilling, captivating, and riveting story. But then I also don't want to because I don't want it to end, lol.

Could this series get any better??? I have finally finished the 5th instalment and what a wonderful and glorious story it is.

This series is just breathtaking. The detail, the characters and the whole world this is based upon is mind blowing. It’s on the level of a Lord of the Rings with its fantasy and the intricacies of this world. It’s a series that deserves so much praise.

I’m not going to give any hints of what happens in this book, but Cassius and Morgan are just…ugh..they’re everything. Their connection and bond is so much more palpable in this book if that’s possible. I love them so much. They have an intensity and snappy humour I love. I also love the interactions with additional characters which are like a bickering family at times.

There are more side characters and story development in this book that takes this series up a notch. Some twists and a story that we are on the peak of concluding.

Cannot wait for the last book, but will also be sad when it finishes. Cassius is my bae.

The fifth book, Harbinger was just out of the world. This was way more than I expected. In terms of romance, storytelling, action, and world-building this was just amazingly portrayed and executed by the author. This book holds so many answers to the previous incident that happened in the series.

This is packed with mind-blowing plotline and well-choreographed action sequences, with amazing characters.

This truly is a well-written series one should not miss out on this. Especially the ones who love reading paranormal and magic genres.

OMG! How far we’ve come on this journey! I can’t believe there’s only one book left after this before the series is wrapped up. I could read about our sexy otherworldly MCs and their friends for years and never get bored. Harbinger took me on a massive journey - both emotionally and throughout the realms. More pieces of the entire puzzle are filled in and we meet more awesome kick butt characters along the way who are also determined to beat Elios’ evil plans. Loki and Morgan’s ongoing battle for Cassius’ attention helps provide levity during difficult times. I loved seeing Eden and her Bloodcursed Devilwood Summoning Staff revisit our men in this one. It was awesome to see her confident in her magic and ability to wield the staff after her magic awakening in Spellbound. I feel like I can’t say too much without inadvertently revealing spoilers, but prepare yourself for a wild emotional ride! I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Cassius and Morgan return. Fated soul mates across their lives, their Soul Cores calling to each other, bringing them together across time.

A dark plague has descended on earth as well as other realms. Morgan goes to the Dryads while Cassius stays on earth. A major mistake?

As the situations get more intense the story only improves. While Cassius and Morgan are still the major focus, other main players step up and take more pivotal roles. I enjoyed learning about the increasing powers of some and the unknown appearance of new abilities in others. The author has really stepped up the suspense and steamy times. And I especially enjoyed the innuendos (and just plain speaking) from almost every character.

The cast of characters for this series just basically doubled. Don’t worry about that though. Just enjoy the ride.

Harbinger is the penultimate book in the fascinating Fallen Messenger saga.
From the moment you read the first paragraph, the story grabs you and doesn't let go until you finish the book. The anxiety of knowing what will happen in the next chapter is the limit. Action, intrigue and suspense are felt as the story progresses.
With each book Cassius and Morgan make me fall more and more in love with them. In this book, more secrets are revealed from their past and we suffer from the threats they must face today.
Eden and Cedric return to the story which I love.
Each one of the people contributes their grain of sand to the story which makes it spectacular.
With each book, the mythology of the story expands and makes it more enriching.
I love this story and can't believe the next book will be the last. I look forward to reading it.

This was the penultimate book in this series. Allies are gathering for the final battle against Elios, including some from unexpected sources. This story focused on the various goddesses of Fate and their escape from Elios' power. One thing I really like about this series is that even though there are a lot of characters and lots of action going on, little details about supporting characters are not left out - such as the relationships between Adrianne and Bailey, and Charlie and his developing personality. I am interested to see how their sub-plots all play out alongside the main event in the next book. Cassius and Morgan are still finding the depths of their powers and faced a hard challenge in this story, but their love for each other literally changed the world so surely it will prevail against Chaos?

This book is a rollercoaster of action, emotions, heat , banter, all wrapped in one unforgettable package, but it definitely can't be read as a standalone. Start at the beginning and enjoy the plot, relationship and character development as I did. Every single character in this series is memorable and has an important role in future developments. It made me cry, laugh out loud , melted my heart, often in the same chapter or even a page. Imagination put in this unique world is beyond comparison. I often wondered if this author is making it up on the go, or the plot is carefully planned. In my opinion it's the former, but she's somehow managed to tie everything up flawlessly.
I can't wait to read the final book in this series, although I hope it's not really the final one.
