Angela Smith is a Texas native who, years ago, was dubbed most likely to write a novel during her senior year in high school. She always had her nose stuck in a book, even hiding them behind her textbooks during school study time. Her dream began at a young age when her sister started reciting 'Brer Rabbit' after their mom read it to them so often. She told her mom she'd write a story one day and never gave up on that dream even though her mom was never able to see it come to fruition. By day, she works as a certified paralegal and office manager at her local District Attorney's office and spends her free time with her husband, their pets, and their many hobbies. Although life in general keeps her very busy, her passion for writing and getting the stories out of her head tends to make her restless if she isn't following what some people call her destiny.

Not having (yet) read the first book in this series, I did wonder would I be able to empathise with the Naomi and Chayton but I needn't have worried. Who couldn't love a hero who's introduced to us in a tool belt--setting the scene nicely with a rugged and outdoors kinda guy. Then to keep him balanced, along comes Naomi, classy and sophisticated who is wardrobe advisor to the stars. Yay!! I settled in for a great read and wasn't disappointed. Interspersed throughout are wonderful depictions of outdoors life in the mountains, along with a great scene (hen party!!) with a bear. Yup a bear makes it to the girls' party. Not only are we kept in suspense about how Chay and Naomi are going to make it through, there is an excellent sub-plot which involves a wedding, guns, chases, kidnappings and all kind of nail biting stuff. I also especially loved the little truisms that Ms Smith scattered throughout: Naomi hoped to heal a damaged ex by loving him (how many of us have fallen into that one!) as she had convinced herself she was supposed to love him (ahem), Naomi felt she was no good at sharing either, which made a difficult relationship even harder (yup me again). I loved Fatal Snag, not only for the wonderful escapism but the reality that Ms Smith's words brought to light. Loved it and highly recommend it!

Blurb:
Naomi Fisher happily visits Montana to help plan her cousin’s wedding. During the last visit, she had almost fallen in love with her cousin’s soon-to-be brother in law, the sexy and sullen Chayton Chambers. This time, she can’t afford to snag her future plans as a fashion consultant because of an attraction that could prove to be fatal.

Chayton Chambers almost lost his heart to Naomi Fisher once, so he doesn’t take kindly to her reappearance in his life. He will do what must be done to keep his brother and the bride happy, even if that means accompanying the lovely Naomi down the aisle. It won’t be long before Naomi is bored with his small town and heading back to her Hollywood fantasies.

When Chayton’s brother is kidnapped on his wedding day, Chayton and Naomi rush to find the relic demanded as ransom so her cousin can become a bride instead of a widow. The consequences could mean more than losing their heart—it could mean losing their life.

Having read Burn on the Western Slope, I was excited to read the follow on story, Fatal Snag. I enjoyed catching up with characters I’d come to love in BotWS and meet new ones in Fatal Snag. This book is predominately a romance, with only a hint of suspense in the first half. But once you think things are going smoothly, then all hell breaks loose. The characters are well developed and the setting in Montana is wonderfully described. I can’t wait to visit this state and see it for myself.

An interesting read, Fatal Snag will keep you hooked until the end, rooting for a happy ever after for Chayton and Naomi.
