Detective John Stonebrook suspects there is something very strange about his attractive new friend, Finn, but he's so infatuated with the mysterious young man that it's difficult for him to think clearly. It's a bad time to be distracted because someone is sending John ominous messages that suggest Finn may be in danger... or may actually be the source of the danger. It's the last thing John wants to deal with when he's already troubled with exploring his startling new sexuality. m/m romance
I write urban fantasy, paranormal romance, m/m fiction and menage fiction, with probably more genres to come! Please visit my website and sign up for my newsletter so you'll be kept apprised of my frequent new releases:
Don't attempt to read as a standalone or else you'll be confused. This follows on exactly from the moment Angel: Reverse ends. A lot of the loose ends from the first book are resolved in this but I think there are areas of the plot - and characters- left open to explore and give closure to, so I really hope we get more in the series, having said that I was totally satisfied with Angel: Released, and it's inspired ending. I sat and practically devoured every word!
Tricia Owens is a trendsetter who takes her stories out of the the norm and creates twisty turny plots that never behave how you expect. In this story the enemy comes from an unexpected corner in Finns quest to be with John, keep his obligation to look after Jeremy and battle the dark forces around him at the same time. The love between John and Finn ratchets up another notch and the two of them together are mouthwatering! The love scenes were perfect and sexy as hell. Most of the secondary characters are here , Benji is still a strong influence with John and there is another murder that connects to the killer of Johns wife but we are also introduced to another character who becomes pivotal to the story. The demons still factor, more in a background way but still add that feeling of darkness to the book.
If you enjoy m/m paranormal then please give this author a try, I think you'll be impressed by the imagination and daring writing style of this clever author. My other reccomendation , is her Juxtapose City series which is absolute genius.
After reading the last book I have to say that John is changing for the better but what I can’t comprehend is what’s going to happen with Jeremy bd the fbi guy? So much is going on I can’t put this book down I need to know.
There is something about Finn that just makes me want to hug him. I loved the first book, and once I knew there was a second book, I couldn't wait to download it and read it. I love the differences between Finn and John Stonebrook, how Finn is willing and open to love, but John isn't, even though he wants/needs to. I hope there will be a third book, a fourth book and so on...
I seem to recall that when I read these way back when they were still subscription-based, there was a whole lot more of gritty crime and kinky smut and a whole lot less of mushy I Wuv Yous. Oh well.
