BETTER THAN THE FIRST BOOK IN THIS SERIES
Callie and Reece are attracted to each other, they get together but then Reece messes up. But both of them can't seem to get the other out of their thoughts. Then Callie finds herself in Reece's company again as her BF is with Jack, Reece's fellow band member. The question is can Reece make things right with Callie.
This is a better written book than the first in the series IMO. But it's not without it's flaws either. Why is it when one of the leads in the story has a secret that's affecting his relationship with their love interest does the secret turn out to be a WTF moment really is that it! In Reece's case it is another woman who seems to have him at her beck and call. He refuses to talk to Callie about her causing massive problems for himself. Then when this other woman is coming to stay, Callie discovers she sleeps in the same bed as Reece. When we discover her relationship to Reece, that's just so wrong, and very disturbing! There were one or two other instances where Reece did things that most women would have not tolerated, but I suppose love is blind.
Like the first book there's lots of sex, I think there's to be a third story about Donovan the other band member.

The first chapter had already my jaws dropping, my panties melting, and my world spinning. THAT IS ONE SUPER HOT SCENE you got there Lexi. Just in time for the summer – Callie, Donovan and of course, Reece. It started out strong – what more in the middle and end part?
Callie is a mix of innocence and seductress, I really don't know how she pulled it off, but she did!!! She can be innocent and shy without being pretentious, and feisty without trying too hard. She's also a great friend and a really FORGIVING soul. VERY, VERY forgiving. As for Reece - OMG. Hotness to the nth power, but he can be an a** sometimes, a total alpha-male but he can be very sweet.
Of course, Lexi didn’t disappoint when she weaved a great story with an amazing plot, sexy scenes and one surprising twist that I haven’t seen coming. Since the moment she came up into the story, I was already shouting ��� WHO IS THAT GIRL TO REECE?! Why is he willing to leave Callie, in bed, dumbfounded just to go to her?
I understand Callie’s hurt – it wasn’t overacting, or being super sensitive. Hello! They just spent a world-changing moment together, and all of a sudden, he’s gone? To go to another girl? Without any explanations? Yeah, a really WTF moment.
He came crawling with really no solid explanations, she gave him a chance, and once again had a blast together, and all of a sudden, here comes Dal once again, ruining it all. And he just stood there, not even defending her – ah yes, WTF. By this time, I hated him already. You claimed to be her boyfriend, you claimed that she was someone special – why stand there and allow this girl to trash-talk her?! Gaaahd. If I was curious about Dal before, I didn’t care by this time because she had done so much damage, our two love birds are breaking apart. It was heartbreaking to watch Callie walk away, and him just standing there allowing her to do so.
And here comes the biggest surprise of them all – the truth about Dal. OMG. I didn’t see that coming!!! I wished he could have been just honest to Callie – trust her with the information because I believe this girl would keep his secret up to her death. She valued him that much. But no, he had to hurt her…
So, another groveling was done – really, how many times do you have to do something stupid and then have that realization almost too late and just make up groveling? This is a tough book to review. It's definitely "Spicy" and I would give the steamy side 5 stars. As for the plot/story itself, it was a bit lacking. I struggled getting past a few of the scenes especially when the heroine walks in on the hero getting a BJ and shortly later is not only forgiven, but they're having sex. I felt like the author had so much to work with but focused way to much on the sexy side of this story. I didn't read book one in the series but didn't felt that this could be read as a stand alone.

Shortly after, Reece gets a phone call and leaves Callie without so much as a backward glance. Weeks later, with no contact at all from Reece, Callie is furious and when her friends talks her into going out she runs into Reece. Reece thinks that Callie deserves more then he can offer and that's why he hasn't contacted her. After Callie and Reece have words Reece does the dumbest thing ever by shoving his tongue down another girls throat pissing Callie off even further. Crazily enough, Callie forgives Reece and they give a relationship a go.

Holy Hotness! Definitely need to keep the fire department on stand by. The Hot as sin Reece will have your kindle on fire and your panties wet with just his words alone. I love how Callie don't put up with Reece bull and seems she can keep him on his toes. I like how these two struggle giving them a realism to them. I'm happy that we get to see the secondary character and what is going on with them. I absolute love this series and I can't wait to see more from them.

I really liked the first book and was looking forward to this one.
Does Callie have no self respect? She finds the guy she has feelings for(and who supposedly has feeling for her) twice in the same night having sex with some other girl. Both times she cries and he feels bad, but he did it again? Then she lets him take her home while she's sobbing because of him. And the next morning, BAM they're together! Seriously. no.

Reece was not sure how to handled a couple things !!!
Callie was one of them .. What he did and the way he
treated her was so unfairly .. But Reece did do a turn
around but hey being a couple is not easy for some..
This was a great addition to the series I could not put it down
until I finished it .. There was a lot of steamy sex !!!

Better than the first but not by much. Reece kept on saying that he doesn't want their relationship to be about sex but that's all they ever do in the whole story. Hot sex scenes but not much depth to the story.

Couldnt get passed the shallowness of the whole thing. They spent 36 hours together, don't see each other for months and then behave all weird like they had a massive relationship? Then he F***s someone and she sees them then Dry humps him 30 minutes later? All just wrong and shallow. I think the author must be very young as all the emotions and reactions are very juvenile. Could have been so much better as the writing style is good and the sexy times are hot.

I enjoyed the first book in this series, so I was looking forward to reading Spicy. In this novel, you will get to know Reece and we are introduced to Callie. The two of them meet because of their friends. They hit it off with a HOT and SPICY one night stand which involved a third member, Donovan. The three of them had an instant connection, however, Reece wanted dibs on Callie and told Donovan to back off. Donovan respected his friend's wishes, only hoping that Reece would treat Callie the way she deserved. But when Reece gets a phone call and leaves Callie without even a goodbye, things get a little tricky.
Callie was furious that Reece left without saying anything, and after a few weeks of not speaking to him, they run into each other at a bar that the band is playing. Reece cannot get Callie out of his mind, she is all that he sees. Reece thinks Callie deserves better than him, and hasn't reached out to her since he left her alone in her bedroom. Reece does what any stupid man would do, he thinks that he can try and find comfort from someone else, only wishing it was Callie. After being hurt repeatedly, Callie tries to move on, her heart is pulling her to Reece, while you would think her head would be telling her to run in the opposite direction.
The questions that plagued me while reading Spicy was, can you love someone who repeatedly hurts you? Can you trust that person, after knowing what he has done to you? Even though they apologize for their mistakes, how many times are you supposed to forgive them? Can you move past it, and hope to have a happy relationship?
There were several times in this book that I wanted to smack Reece. I wanted to scream at him and say GROW UP ! You are 26, you are a grown man, you are responsible for your actions. Every action has a consequence. I wanted Callie to be stronger, but her heart was broken after Reece stomped on it, time and time again. But sometimes our heart is a stronger muscle than we think. Our hearts lead us to people, who our brains are telling us to run from. I think Reece is a good guy, when he acted like one. But I got irritated with him always saying, I am going to screw up, so please don't hold it against me. That to me was a cop out. I wanted him to be a better person for himself, as well as for Callie, because she deserved that. But sometimes, it takes a reality check for people to realize what the have, when they lose it.
Spicy had a lot of sex in the book. At times I thought that sex was the only good thing that Callie and Reece had going for them. But then, a few things change for Reece. Reece began to grow on me like a fungus that I wouldn't get rid of. His cocky attitude and his arrogance made me laugh. I think Reece needed to be HONEST with Callie in order to have a future with her. Secrets always come back to haunt us.
I would recommend this book to another reader. I am looking forward to seeing what Lexi Buchanan does with Donovan. That book is going to be quite interesting....

So I must admit to having not read Sizzle before being attracted to this book, especially the cover, so when the author kindly offered me both books to review I jumped at the chance.
Spicy follows on from Sizzle but this time tells the story between Reece and Callie, Jack and Thalia's friends.
At the end of Sizzle, Reece and Callie have already hooked up, although Donovan had been included in their first romantic tryst. Spicy takes over the story from the point where Callie is left standing at the poolside after Rebecca has pushed Thalia in.
As with Sizzle, these two characters face lots of ups and downs mostly as a result of Reece's relationship inexperience but also because of Thalia, someone who plays an important part in Reece's life but who none of his friends knows anything about. Needless to say, a third person in Reece and Callie's relationship is far from ideal and it's not long before Thalia causes problems between the two.
I didn't think it was possible but this book is possibly even hotter than Sizzle. Reece and Callie, who is rumoured to be a shy character, yeah right, share an explosive relationship in and out of bed but it is Callie who initiates most of the sex between them and Reece can only but follow his dick! With lots of ups and downs, literally, between the two you would be inclined to think that the story-line would get frustrating but it doesn't and it flows wonderfully well.
Jack and Thalia feature heavily in this story as their relationship continues to progress and the two friends are ever present with advice and support for Reece and Callie. Donovan is my secret love though and it is so touching the way he is always around with a cuddle, and cheeky grin, on offer for Callie, even if Reece hates it! I can’t wait for his story and to see how his feelings for Reece’s younger sister, Mara develop.
I have to say I love Callie’s spark and feistiness. She is one sassy woman and enough to drive poor Reece into an early but pleasurable grave!!!
Well done for two amazing stories Lexi Buchanan.
