Rate this book
On a late July evening, two runners tear by each other in the middle of Elm Creek Nature Reserve. Their eyes meet. In the cold stare of the enemy comes the sudden realization that the State Title is no longer a certainty. Each runner had thought nobody else could possibly be training with the same ferocity. I thought that this book was was great with great messages. I feel like the book was a lot about the determination and heart of a whole Cross Country team with Rod as their leader. The cross country team lead by Rod did whatever it took to go and try to win the state cross country meet which means logging 30+ miles in one day for some individuals on the team.

Easy to read. The book had a good ending, not at all what I expected.
