The day I decided to leave my husband was the day Jesse Drake offered his home as a place for me to stay. Jesse is just a friend from work. I keep repeating that to myself as I watch him cut wood in his garage without a shirt on.

When Richard gets wind of my new living situation, he forces me to fight my attraction to Jesse. It becomes harder with each passing day, but as Jesse rushes out to meet different women all the time, it's clear where his mind is.

As the mysteries surrounding this man intensify, I can't help but be drawn closer. Is Jesse saving me... or I am saving him?

Don't leave me...
I'll wait with you, V... I've waited five years. I'd wait forever.

I told this many times before, but I think there's no better books, than those from Lisa Suzanne, to say this... I'M RENDERED!
I'm here trying to find the perfect words to describe how much Lisa's books touched me... trying to say how superb this book was... but there aren't words!
I knew that Veronica and Jesse's story was intense... heartbreaking, tearful, beautiful, magical... hopeful... and most of all... full of love! But the way it was described, the way I felt every emotion ... NO! The way Lisa made me feel every emotion while reading it... was from another world .

Their story tells everything...

Jesse... the man who made me feel like I could do anything and be anything I wanted to be.

Their hearts...

Their need...

And of course... their deep love...

I am without any doubt, one of Lisa Suzanne's biggest fans! Thank you Lisa!

I am so in love with this book. From start to finish Separation Anxiety had me hooked. Veronica is in a loveless marriage with her husband Richard and she is ready to get out.He is not the man she married and she no longer feels the love she once felt for him. It just takes a little encouragement from her sexy crush Jesse Drake. Jesse is a counselor at the school where Veronica teaches and invites Veronica to move into his home until she can get settled. The sexual tension between Veronica and Jesse just shoots off the pages and pulls you into the book even more. Richard the dickhead husband tried to make trouble for them and was not successful by having someone take a picture of them kissing in the park. I wish I knew who took the picture but it never said in the book who did it. The scandal caused them to be apart for two months but did not stop the love they felt for each other. In the end everything was perfect. This book made me laugh out loud and some thoughts that ran through Veronica's mind had me laughing so loud my husband thought I had lost my mind. And when her and her best friend Quinn get together I laughed even more. I would love to see Quinn get her own story. This is a must read book!!

You know that feeling, the one in your stomach when you start a new relationship. All you can think of is that person, and you get butterflies just thinking about that person. You stare at your phone constantly hoping for a call or text, they are all you can think about. And it all comes back to those butterflies in your stomach? Yea ok well that is what Lisa Suzanne manages to do to you with Jesse Drake. He is the male lead in this new book, and he is, sexy, mysterious, and just about perfect! When he isn't in the book you are left wanting him back.
The amazing build up between the two main characters will kill you, and then leave you wanting more! This is by far Lisa Suzanne's best book yet, you won't be sorry you read it!

Received in exchange for an honest review.

I can’t say how much of a PRIVILEGE it is to be able to read Lisa Suzanne’s books. There’s just some sort of beauty to the SIMPLICITY of her writing. I feel that books nowadays are complicated or have complicated plot lines to engage the reader. You don’t want to read something and go, “Oh yeah, I’ve read something like this before.” With every new book she writes, she seems to OUTDO herself every time. I don’t know how she does it!

After a year of marriage Veronica has had enough. The moment she said her I Do’s she felt her once happy relationship start to go downhill. The first person she ends up telling about her unhappy state, is her co-worker and fellow faculty member, Jesse Drake – the school councilor. Being a good friend, he puts her up in his home for a few days while she sorts herself out, but in those few days their relationship goes from being just friends…to so much more. Veronica has always had a crush on Jesse, but how does he feel about her? Will she believe his feelings are true, knowing his expertise on getting women into bed? And what secrets does Jesse Drake have that he’s keeping from her?

You know how people say they always wish books were longer? Well, I think I say that a lot; and I don’t mean I want it longer for the sake of being longer. There writing is just so engaging and flows so amazingly that you dread each page turn and Lisa Suzanne’s books definitely does that for me. I dread and cling onto every page, every word, every sentence, hoping the next one won’t be the last.

So first there was Nick in How He Really Feels and I thought he was hot. Then there was Travis in the same book and in What He Really Feels. Now there’s Jesse Drake (because I like saying his full name) and my mind is just blown. I don’t know how she manages to outdo herself with these book boyfriends in every book. I don’t know how long she’s going to be able to keep one-upping herself, but I have the UTMOST confidence the book boyfriends she makes in the future will be fantastic.

“You’re amazing. You’re smart. And it you’re so goddamn beautiful that sometimes it hurts to look at you and know that I can’t have you.”

Seriously though. Where are these men hiding and why can’t I have one!? It just isn’t fair :P!

Jesse is like…the personification of the word perfect. I’ve looked it up in the dictionary. His name is there *wink*.

He cooks, he cleans, builds his own furniture, has a good job, good with kids, listens well and gives good advice, and has a CRAZY SEXY BODY with tats…like…what? like…omg? like…SWOON CAN I PLEASE LICK YOU! I am not ashamed to be fangirling over him, I’m really not! Seriously, who wouldn’t want that?! Lisa Suzanne’s boys just make a woman…feel loved, feel special, and I can’t stress how important that is for ALL women to know the joy of what that feels like…

“It wasn’t dependence in the way that I became a fragile woman who relied on a man to support her, rather, it was dependence in the way that I needed Jesse and his love. I needed his warm arms around me. I needed his support and his strength and his laughter. I needed him to look at me with lust in his eyes and promise me that I was the only woman he wanted. These were the things that I had come to rely on in my life, and I was thriving in new ways that I didn’t know I could thrive. I felt confident, loved, cherished, and treasured, and I realized how much I’d been missing out on because I’d never had any of that with Richard.”

If you want to try out a one-shot as one of your first reads of 2014 I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Separation Anxiety. It’s just a simple, easy, and wonderfully beautiful love story that’ll make you just as head-over heels as I am for Jesse Drake and Lisa Suzanne.

“So the task ahead of me was to figure out who I was – on my own – now.” - Veronica

Veronica was a high school English teacher who always kept her problems to herself. She was married to a man she no longer recognized as her husband. Things had not only fallen apart, but she now saw him for who he really was – a controlling jerk. They had been separated for a year, but they still lived in the same house. No one, not even Veronica’s family or best friend, Quinn, knew about her marital situation. One night, after a few drinks, she cracked and opened up to her friend and co-worker…Jesse.

Veronica had always felt an immense attraction towards Jesse. Can’t say I blame her. The guy was the epitome of dreamy. He was hot, considerate, smart, passionate, and a wonderful friend. Jesse was the high school counselor, so they had been friends and coworkers for five years now. He had noticed that Veronica wasn’t as happy as she once was, which is why he flat out asked what was wrong. Little did both of them know, that conversation would have a huge impact in their lives.

After breaking down and letting him know about her situation, Jesse ended up offering Veronica a place to stay while she got back on her feet. Little by little, she moved in with him and slowly their friendship morphed into more. The chemistry between them was incredibly HOT. Unfortunately though, Veronica was still legally married and until that annoying fact was no longer an issue, they both had drawn a limit as to how far they could go physically.
“You’re amazing. You’re smart. And you’re so goddamn beautiful that sometimes it hurts to look at you and know that I can’t have you.” – Jesse

Richard, Veronica’s soon to be ex-husband, made everything ten times harder than it needed to be solely for spiteful purposes. So yes, you can expect some angst and drama throughout the book. Things sure got messy! On top of all of that, Jesse also had things going on….heartbreaking secrets he hadn’t shared with anyone before. Let’s just say, he knew emotional pain very well.
“Haven’t you realized yet that I only have eyes for you?” – Jesse

This man made me swoon….hard. Once you read this book, you’ll see why, but trust me, Jesse is yu-mmy! I could tell he was madly in love with Veronica. The way he treated her? Whoa. She was his princess.
“I’ve got you, V. You’re going to be fine.”- Jesse

I loved this book. That’s all there’s to it. The story line had a smooth flow and it kept me hooked from the very beginning. The characters developed gradually and I enjoyed seeing them grow. There was a great balance between emotional scenes and humorous ones. Quinn, Veronica’s best friend, was sooo funny! Her wittiness made me laugh out loud several times. The nicknames she gave people were truly unique. *giggles* I would love her as a best friend!

Well anyway, I have become such a huge fan of Lisa’s. Her writing style is one I always connect with, but this book?? Ha! I connected with this book on such a personal level that days later, it still amazes me. I honestly don’t think it could have reached my hands at a more perfect time. Thank you, Lisa Suzanne for writing such an amazing story.
Loved it!!! Go one-click!!

WOW. To say that I loved this one would be an understatement. First off, let me just commend Lisa Suzanne on writing a romance the way that I wish more were written, with loads of anticipation and build up! So many books these days jump right into the main characters getting it on. I LOVE the sexual tension build up, especially the little moments where you ask yourself 'okay is this it, are they going to finally kiss?'.

Characters - LOVED them. Hello, can I please have a Jesse Drake? I mean seriously, he's a hot high school guidance counselor with an amazing, mysterious tattoo down his torso. Veronica (or "V" as Jesse calls her - SWOON) - high five to her! When you know a marriage just isn't going to work, no matter how hard you try, you've got to call it quits. She earned major brownie points with me when, knowing that her family wouldn't approve, decided that it was over. Oh and the "soon to be ex" Richard - BLAH - douche central.

Story - PERFECT. Victoria decides that she's finally going to call it quits with her marriage. She's tried to make it work but there is just no saving it. No, there was no infidelity or anything like that, they just grew apart and ultimately fell out of love. After a night out at happy hour with fellow teachers from school, she spills everything to hottie Jesse Drake. He's super supportive of everything and even offers her a place to crash until she gets things figured out.

The sexual tension is immediate, and I loved it. Time and time again I just kept wondering when they were going to give in.

"I felt my body automatically leaning in toward his lips As I gazed into his eyes and the space between us disappeared, I saw his eyes flick own to my lips for just a second. I closed my eyes and tilted my head towards his, eagerly anticipating the feel of his lips against mine.
And then the mother f****** son of a b**** oven timer started beeping."
(had to put the *'s in there so Amazon would let me post it!)

I love a book that has me all hot and bothered with sexual anticipation one second and laughing my butt off the next and that's just what I got from Separation Anxiety.

"I suck out [of the shower] stealthily and found the drawer that I had decided would be my delicates drawer just the day before. I opened it and bent over it, leafing thorugh to find a pair of white panties that wouldn't show through my light khaki pants.
'I brought you some orange ju-' Jesse's voice startled me, causing me, of course, to drop my f****** towel as I jumped and turned around at his voice.
He stood in the doorway with a glass of orange juice in his hand, admiration in his eyes, and a wicked smiled gracing those perfect lips.
'Well, he said, his voice low and raspy and breathtakingly sensual as his eyes moved appreciatively down the full frontal show he was getting. 'Good morning to you, too.'"

The ending was perfect - just perfect. Exactly what I would have wanted for Veronica and Jesse.

This one gets 5 stars, if it were possible, I'd give it more. Will totally be recommending this one to everyone I know!

I received an ARC of Separation Anxiety in exchange for an honest review.

Talk about one powerful love story! I mean damn. I am fanning myself right now.

description

So I made the mistake of starting this at 11:00 at night. Come 12:48 I was still reading and not wanting to put it down. Come 1:00 I was still up. I mean come on I'm a mom of 3 who has to be up at 6 to get my son ready for school and I need to be human with my other kids during the day. HAHA. Yeah, I was totally a zombie. That's okay I still kept reading. It's what I would call addictive.

"You're amazing. You're smart. And you're so goddamn beautiful that sometimes it hurts to look at you and know that I can't have you."

V. aka Veronica has been with the same man for five years. She's a high school senior english teacher. Her life might seem perfect, however it's not. She and her husband have been separated for over a year now. Thing is they haven't told anyone. They are still living under the same roof. V. is sad and lonely, she's wanting to make the next step and file for divorce, but at the same time she doesn't want to be the one to make the next move first. While out one friday night with her friends/co-workers doing their weekly drinking…she has quite a bit of vodka. Which as we all know is liquid courage. Her friend Jesse who is also a co-worker is doing some flirting with her tonight. When all the others are gone they are still there drinking and she finally confesses to him that her marriage has ended and she wants a divorce. Out of left field she tells him to print up the papers for her.

He goes to drive her home and ends up taking her to his house. Let me tell you their is some strong sexual tension going on between the two of them. I love it! They are seriously the cutest non couple out there. You just want to root for them.

"Veronica, if you weren't still married, I would pull the fuck over, throw that beautiful body in the bed of this truck, and show you exactly what we're doing."

Suzanne did an amazing job at laying out their relationship. It's not perfect by any means, but i'm telling you right now Jesse….Mmm Mmm Mmm that man is a slice of P-e-r-f-e-c-t! V. however feels he is out of her league.

My feelings about Jesse: Yes, I would have his babies.

It isn't all candy and rainbows, and you'll find that out once you pick up this book and read it for yourself.

I rate Separation Anxiety 5+ STARS.

" I want it every single way that's ever been invented, and then I want to invent a few of our own. But I know we need to wait, so we'll wait."

""Okay," I said, glancing down again at his now fully erect penis. I couldn't help it. It was there. It was out. It felt like it was looking at me, and it would be rude not to look back."

I LOVED THIS BOOK!!!! What a great refreshing read!!! Some books I can see a certain demographic….not everyone likes the same thing, and I understand, but this book has everything. It’s sweet, emotional without making you ball tears, funny, HOT without being too dirty and even has a bit of mystery in the story. LOVE!!!!

Veronica is a high school English teacher and is really very good. She loves her job, even if it can be trying at times. Veronica is also in a marriage that isn’t working. I don’t mean they just are having problems, they are, for all purposes, leading separate lives in the same house. Her on one side and Richard on the other. They barely speak and haven’t spoken in more than 2 weeks.

Jesse Drake is the guy Veronica should have married. He’s the school counselor at the same high school Veronica works. They have worked together since before she met her husband but not much before. He didn’t have a chance, or take the opportunity, to be her guy before she met Richard and once she did it seemed she was happy and so then they got married and he just become her friend. He’s had feelings for her since he met her 5 years ago and now that he knows her marriage is going to be over, he’s taking this opportunity to not let her go. However, neither of them want to have sex while she’s married. This has to be the “anxiety” part of the book title. The waiting is torture and they can’t help themselves to the kissing and that gets carried away and leaves them…..well with much anxiety. To say the least!

However, Richard isn’t going to let Veronica go so easily and after many threats and other things, she finally becomes divorced. But will Jesse wait? Will he love her without the sex? When it seems there is no end to their turmoil, can they survive and be together in the end?

Have you ever wondered if you were making the right decision? I’m sure we all have. Sometimes it doesn’t matter as all will seem to work itself out. If I take this highway to work maybe it’ll be faster so you do and that’s the morning that there’s a wreck and you’re late to work. Not the worst thing to ever happen but that decision was obviously the wrong one. The bigger ones, marriage, are much much harder. However, fate seems to find a way to take things back to the way there were supposed to be.

As I said before, I loved this book. Both characters have such amazing depth and moral compass that it’s just so refreshing. I loved that even from the beginning it seems like fate is making things right in their world. Even if it’s not easy at least there’s hope that even after you make a bad decision…..all is not lost and maybe your happily ever after is still out there to be found.

I just finished Separation Anxiety and I loved it. Jesse and Veronica were such a cute couple and was happy that they finally got their happy ending. It definitely took work but it was all worth it. Veronica had finally decided that after 1 year of separation from her husband that it is time for a divorce. Having not told anybody has been hard but she didn't want it to be real. She is done and this is the next step. Having Jesse as a friend has helped but not wanting to take it further with him because she has had a crush on him and he on her. Like the synopsis says, she found her soul mate when she is divorcing her husband. How will this all work out when she is still technically married. You will have to read and see.

I really did enjoy this story. I thought it flowed really well. It was a good plot and that is what had me choosing to read this. It is hard to write a story like this, especially when one is divorcing, what lines can or cant you cross. I thought that the author handled this very well and I am glad that there was technically no cheating.

I can tell you that Jesse is freaking hot. He is a high school counselor and man I can just picture him in his HS shirt or suit. Sexy!!! Veronica is a senior English teacher and I just love her. I felt bad for her that she was going through a divorce. It is never easy. I did feel like she put a lot of blame on Richard, not saying he wasn't a douche canoe but it does take too and no one is perfect. Did it take away from the story? No but I felt like it was both no matter who it was more that caused the problems. The chemistry between Veronica and Jesse was hot. I loved their sexual tension and their angst. Couldn't wait until things were finally taken to the next step!

I liked the secondary characters. Quinn, my absolute favorite. She was awesome and you would definitely want her in your corner. I just wish that she had more of a role. Yes, she was in it a lot but I thought that she brought a lot to the table and just wanted more. Yes, I am being selfish and no it didn't take away from the story. I would love to see her story if the author was doing a sequel. It would be cool to read it and I would definitely be up for it!

If you are looking for a quick, sweet and romantic story then this is for you. You will love it and would regret it if you didn't read it.

***** FIVE STARS FOR SEPARATION ANXIETY*****

Veronica Thomas is a high school english teacher who is hiding the truth from everyone. Living at home with her husband. A husband who she doesn't speak to, a husband who she doesn't share a room with, a husband who she doesn't love. Veronica and Richard have been living separate lives for a year and hiding the truth. She especially doesn't want to tell her best friend Quinn who introduced the two.

Jesse Drake is single spending his time being a hottie playboy running through strings of women to make the time pass. Living with secrets from his past that he keeps hidden. He is a counselor at a high school where Veronica works. He's tall, dark and handsome. With feelings he's kept hidden for five years.

Veronica shows up to a happy hour with coworkers to find that Mr. Yummypants Jesse Drake is there too. With one to many drinks in her system Veronica ends up spilling the beans to Jesse and breaks down that she doesn't want to go home to her house with the husband she doesn't want to be with anymore.

Jesse takes her home to stay at his place in his guest room. Temptation is there and so is the obvious chemistry.

But who is Allison? The woman who's name is tattooed on him. And who is Carly? The woman he rushes off to be with in the middle of the night.

Things turn ugly for Veronica and Jesse. Being a married woman falling in love with another man can get real messy, especially when her husband refuses to sign the divorce papers.

Will she be able to hold off on the temptation from sleeping with him while she's waiting for her divorce to be final? Will Jesse come clean on these women in his life instead of keeping it bottled up? Guess you'll have to read and find out!

I absolutely loved this book. I was drawn in from the beginning but as soon as Jesse Drake stepped out of the bathroom and into the picture I was HOOKED! Jesse is a steaming hot, big sexy bundle of a man that I wish would come kiss my head while I slept.

I loved the plot twist and the anticipation on waiting to hear what was going to happen. I loved how Jesse is mysterious and you don't really know much about these women until it all comes out. He is such a tender man and I LOVE IT! MMMM MMM GOOD!

So totally five stars for this book!! But I must say… I WANT MORE JESSE!

This book is really emotional and outlandishly sexy and the build up between Jesse and Veronica is hot. Veronica is fed up with her marriage she's afraid to tell anyone that she is getting a divorce let alone telling people that her and Richard have been separated for a year now. Her family doesn't believe in the "D" word and she keeps things to herself letting everyone believe even her best friend that things are just peachy. Until one night she has a little to much to drink and tells her colleague and best 'guy' friend that her and Richard have separated. Jesse can't believe this has happened and at the same time you know he's so happy that she's going to leave Richard. But he won't have sex with her until she is completely free of psycho Richard. He's a complete a@@ I didn't like him at all he's selfish, arrogant, and thinks the wife should do all his bidding. Its all about him or its nothing at all. The only thing that I was hoping for is all those threats that Richard made to Veronica that I was kind of hoping he would of went more bat sh*t crazy and then have Jesse come in and save the day. :) Of course it still ended with some drama Richard was trying to do but I wanted just a little bit more of crazy Richard.

The chemistry between Jesse and Veronica is on fire I don't know how they stayed apart from each other as long as they did. Especially on Jesse's part he held himself in check and kept his promises no matter what hit cost him. Veronica is willing to throw it all away to keep Jesse's reputation out of her 'problems' she leaves him to protect his career. But will Jesse let her go? Is he willing to do what it takes to keep her in his life forever despite the consequences?

Thank you Lisa Suzanne for this emotional book. I was hooked from the first chapter and couldn't wait to see what happens next. As Veronica would say Jesse is just 'perf' holy sh*t he is so hot and protective. Don't hesitate to pick up this book the sparks between Jesse and Veronica is scorching hot but yet Jesse won't allow it until she is free of Richard. My favorite quote in the book is this one "You’re amazing. You’re smart. And it you’re so goddamn beautiful that sometimes it hurts to look at you and know that I can’t have you.” (Jesse)

I LOVED this book!

Veronica has been a senior English teacher for 5 years. Shortly after starting, she met Richard and they have been married for 2 years. Richard seemed like a good guy until the day they got married. He turned out to be hateful and incredibly manipulative. They have been separated for the last year sort of. They've lived in the same house, in different rooms and barely talk. They also haven't told anyone what is going on with their marriage.

Every Friday after school Veronica meets with several of the teachers for happy hour. This group includes the super hot senior counselor, Jesse, that Veronica has secretly crushed on for the last 5 years. Over than time Jesse and V (as he calls her) have grown to be good friends and he has noticed a change in her. This particulat Friday Happy Hour, Jesse encourages V to talk (by feeding her alcohol) and she opens up about her home life and her decision to file for divorce. He convinces her to stay with him (in his guest room). The sexual tension picks up straight away with Jesse and V. V learns things about Jesse's family, his personality quirks, hobbies and commitments outside of work that she had no idea about.

When she asks her husband for a divorce, we see Richard for what he is. At first, he pretends to want to work it out and promises to do and be anything V wants. By the end of the discussion, he's threatening her and yelling in her face.

After dinner one night, Jesse and V go for a walk and end up kissing (off the charts HOT!). A few days later they go out of town and come back to mayhem. Someone (I wonder who?!) took a picture of the kissing scene and turned it into the press saying that these 2 have been having an affair on school property. It's totally false, but the school board must investigate. V must move out and they are ordered to have no communuication at all.

Is their new romance strong enough to withstand the lies, the separation and the rumors?

This was an amazing story. You can't help but root for Jesse and V! Jesse is the hottest of the hot! I was shocked that this was a standalone book! I couldn't put it down. This definetely goes into the best of 2014 category!

Veronica Thomas is a high school English teacher that has been trapped in a loveless marriage for over a year and has finally decided it is time to end it. Jesse Drake is the school counselor and co-worker, but he is also her friend of 5 years. They both had been secretly carrying a flame for each other, though the other had no clue. Until they got together like they did on many other occasion for “Happy Hour.” After a few too many “f****** vodkas”, Veronica told Jesse something she hadn’t told anyone else. That she was getting unhappy and getting a divorce. She poured her heart and tears out on Jesse and he held her and listened.

Jesse knew her marriage to the two-named jerk was a mistake, but it wasn’t his place to say. When she finally told him that her marriage was done, he saw it as finally his opportunity to have his chance with her. But she needed a friend, and he was that friend. Offering her a place to stay seemed like the easiest and best solution, but it turned out to be the best and most challenging times of their lives.

Veronica agreed to stay with Jesse and though their feelings grew stronger every day; she would not and could fully be with Jesse until she was divorced. And for that Jesse respected her immensely.

Her husband Richard did everything he could to make her miserable, from trying to undermine the sale of their marital property, to threatening Veronica and Jesse jobs. If Richard couldn’t have her, he would do what he could to make her miserable. He thought he nearly succeeded in splitting them up, but Jesse had waited 5 years for Veronica a couple more months wasn’t much in the grand scheme of things.

This book is written by a wonderful author Lisa Suzanne. She has terrific grasp of the written word, you feel what Veronica and Jesse are feeling throughout this book. If you want a bit of many different emotions all wrapped up in one book. Pick up Separation Anxiety, I guarantee you won’t be disappointed!! Don’t forget to check out her other books (They’re good too!!)

Veronica is hiding a secret from everyone she knows... her marriage has failed and she's not ready to tell anyone yet. She comes from a strong conservative background and a failed marriage is not in the cards for her family. Fear of being the black sheep and the looks that she will get from family and friends is almost to much to bare. Veronica keeps every thing on the inside. She teaches Ap English by day and finds ways to keep herself busy so she doesn't have to see her husband Richard at night.

Jesse Drake is a high school counselor who is dark and mysterious and sexy as hell!! He also happens to be Veronica's friend. When Veronica confides her dark secret to Jesse after too many vodkas, Jesse is a shoulder for her to lean on. With his own demons threating to surface he has to decide if he wants to move forward with letting Veronica know his darkest secrets.

These two both have things holding them back and they have to fight for what fate ultimately has in store for them.

This is a great book. Not a typical fade now of instant love. I love how the author makes you anticipate what is going to happen next. I was turning each page with excitement just waiting to see if something big was going to happen next. This is a great quick read that will leave you feeling happy.

On a side note Quinn is Veronica's best friend in the book. I would love to see her get her own story and see what fate has in store for her.

Thank you Lisa for a great book! I cannot wait to read what you have coming up next :)

Separation Anxiety by Lisa Suzanne
5 Stars
Veronica Thomas is hiding the truth of her failed marriage from everyone she knows including family, friends and colleagues. Although she is Lives with her husband Richard in the house they share, they share nothing more, living completely separate lives. For a year, Veronica and Richard have been living separate lives and hiding the truth. Even her best friend Quinn has no idea that Veronica and Richard are basically estranged.
Jesse Drake is hiding secrets too, secrets from his past. Coming off as the happy-go-lucky playboy with a trail of women to prove it, he is single and gorgeous and a counselor at the same high school where Veronica works as a teacher. She has always noticed him and he has noticed her, keeping his feelings for her hidden for five years.
When happy hour and too many drinks with coworkers finds Veronica sharing too much information with Jesse, revealing that her marriage is over and she doesn’t want to be with Richard anymore, the truth is out and Jesse Drake is there to help.
Jesse takes her to his house to spend the night in his guest room. He offers her an out, she can come live with him and in the end she takes it, happy to be done with Richard and move on with her life.
But, Richard’s not happy. Jesse’s keeping secrets. Veronica won’t sleep with Jesse until her divorce is final and a barrage of obstacles threatens Veronica’s happiness. Will Veronica and Jesse find everlasting love or are they doomed before it even starts?

From the first page, I fell in love with Veronica and Jesse. I found myself rooting them on as they fought every obstacle and wrestled with a sexual tension that had me breathless at times.
Jesse is a one in a million, hot, sexy man that woman drool over and dream of sharing their lives with.
Congratulations Lisa Suzanne on a book well written, may you bring us more Jesse in the future!

Jessie Drake is the epitome of sexy. He is every single girls dream. Veronica Thomas is living in an in-between state of being separated from her husband but still living in the same house. Veronica and Jessie work together. He is the guidance counselor and she is an English teacher. They are best friends.
Veronica had met her husband shortly after beginning her job at the school. She had no idea that he might not be her forever. Veronica met Jessie Drake after starting her new job and after she was dating Richard her future husband. This is what Veronica has to say about Jessie:
“Jessie Drake was gorgeous. He had these mysterious, dark brown eyes and this perfect silky and thick, dark hair that was always manscaped in that beautiful way that looked at once like he didn’t bother and like he ran his hands through it a million times a day. He had that look of a healthy, lean athlete….He was that kind of good looking that caused me to take the long route to the office copiers just do I could swing by his office and catch a glance. He was that kind of good looking that made my heart skip a beat when I saw his big black truck in the school parking lot when I pulled into my space each morning. And he was the kind of good looking that set the flutters on fire in my belly when I saw that he was at the bar from our weekly happy hour.”
Veronica was living with her life secret and it was eating at her soul. She finally broke down and confided in Jessie.
I loved this book; the only thing that held me back from giving it 5 pennies was the story with Richard. It had me on my seat and guessing what was to come, but nothing much came from him. That being said Jessie and Veronica were amazing. I loved learning about the many sides of Jessie. He is definitely a dream of a husband and friend to have in your life. The struggles that were overcome, the happiness, the heartache and the drama made this one of my favorite books so far for 2014…

This is a story that brings you into the author's mind, gives you the images her words describe. Lisa's characters are real and every day people. She has given them substance and qualities that are all around us, both good and bad. Separation Anxiety is a story that reminds us of our everyday lives and how we can sometimes take loved ones for granted.

I thoroughly enjoyed this tale of Veronica and Jesse. These two have a rocky start from the very beginning. I loved taking the journey with them as they overcame their personal struggles together. Some books rush the story line in order to get to the juicy bits. Here in this story, we find an entire array of emotions, despair, sadness, bitterness, joy, desire, lust and love. I find it entirely refreshing to find an author willing to step out of the "trending fads" in order to be true to their characters.

Here we have Veronica, a woman lost and alone in a relationship that is meant to give her solidarity, peace, love and understanding. Yet, she doesn't know what to do about it. She is being torn in different directions by her beliefs and lack of confidence, and also her yearning for more from life. Que Jesse, friend, colleague, and very good looking. Jesse has always been a good friend to her, and when he detects a sadness in her he pulls it forward. He puts it in her face and shows her that she needs, for herself, to do something about her situation, if she ever wants to be happy again.

Along the way, they find themselves helping to heal one another. Being each others' strength, and making them laugh when they need it the most. But what will all of this mean for them once they get caught in an enormous scandal that could cost them everything? I guess you'll have to grab your own copy to find out what becomes of Jesse and Veronica.

I loved this book! I could relate to Veronica about what she's going through in the beginning of the story and that made her so much more human and normal. She's actually this incredible person but she doesn't totally see that about herself because her dead marriage has sapped out her spirit and now she's ready to move on and quit pretending by filing for a divorce. Jesse Drake, her good friend and coworker that she has always had a crush on, turns out to be her biggest supporter and confidant during this rough period. The chemistry between Veronica and Jesse is intense but lines have to be drawn because Veronica is technically still married on paper. I enjoyed every scene they had together, the sexual tension was very palpable but it was more than that, too. They were friends and they comforted one another, shared secrets and did domestic things like cook together. It was obvious that Jesse was attracted to Veronica but she couldn't see it because of her own self doubts. However, Jesse would always say something that made it clear how he truly felt and Veronica needed to hear those things. I adored Jesse, he was the perfect combination of sexy, smart, caring, manly, funny and dirty talker. He has some secrets that prevent him from getting close to others but Veronica wants to break though and be the one to know about them. They have some obstacles to overcome but not because they have drama or miscommunications with each other, but rather, due to other circumstances and Jesse is more than willing to prove that Veronica is worth the wait and any other consequences that come their way. They have this amazing honesty between them and their relationship isn't based off of physical gratification, which really solidifies them as a couple. The way they help each other grow and trust the other is both beautiful and heartfelt. Awesome book.

A sexy, sweet story of starting over, fate and finding your true love.
Veronica's marriage has been over since almost as soon as it began but she's hiding it because she feels ashamed about getting a divorce. When things finally get to be too much and her co-worker, friend and crush offers to let her stay with him while she goes through it, Veronica jumps at the chance.
Three cheers (or 4 Stars) for Jesse, sex in a HS polo shirt! Everything he did and said was in a word, perfect. The way he comforted V(eronica) and was there for her, no matter what, was sigh-worthy. He is the epitome of what a woman wants; smart, sweet, caring and sexy as all get out. The way he talked to Veronica when nobody else could hear was so hot!
I'll say this Veronica has some crazy will power to be able to hold off on sleeping with Jesse once they discover they both have strong feelings for one another. I couldn't have done it, but it adds so much to the story that she wants to do the right thing.
Her douche bag husband, soon-to-be ex, was a controlling, manipulative asshat that went above and beyond to make Veronica's life difficult. I don't know how she fell in love with him in the first place.
I really enjoyed reading their journey and was anxious to see how everything worked out in the end. If you love a good romance with a uber hot guy and a sweet strong female, look no further.

Veronica is realizing her marriage just isnt what it should be. Married for 2 years to Richard and after their 1 year anniversary and no sex since is a sign for sure! They are now just simply livng in the same house not speaking and she just goes through the motions.

One night happy hour changes everything. Out with coworkers from the high school where she teaches she opens up to Jesse the counselor. A years worth of sadness comes pouring out, their conversation brings things into perspective and she decides to make the move and file for divorce. Jesse thinks she should stay the night with him seeing how unhappy she is about the thought of going back to that quiet house.
What starts out as crashing at Jesses house until she finds something permanent her crush blossoms into much more. Jesse hot single and ladies man she thinks he will never see her that way but boy is she wrong and the sexual tension is insane!
Nothing is ever that easy though Richard wont let go easy and there is unnecessary scandal. I couldnt stop reading once I started!! V's thoughts running through her head just had me literally laughing out loud. Jesse is to die for and this is such an amazing love story and the last page had me crying with no cliffhanger but an amazing HEA.

First off Let me start by saying holy mother of HOTTNESS!!! I can't get over how HOTT Jesse was, I felt myself getting the warm and fuzzies all over from him. I loved the hole thing, It was more about Fate bringing 2 people together who have always loved each other, where are she married Richard and that was not what Fate had in mind. He was a big Dusch bag lol. I couldn't believe the hell he made Veronica go threw it wasn't right. As I can go on and on about the hole story I just wanted to sum it up, The characters were great I felt for them, trusted them as if I was right their along with them. This story was written great and had every female in mind who's ever been in a relationship that they had a hard time ending. It makes you feel not alone. I loved it. I'm happy with the way things ended. It does have a stand alone feel to it though so who knows about another one. I also really liked the Acknowledgments page Thank you Lisa for that!!!

This story is a must read romance novel that will blow your mind!!!!

Lisa Suzanne's book touched the depths of my soul. I don't often give a 5 star rating, this privilege is reserved for only the greatest of books. The sense of identity that I felt with V was intense, she struggles through life issues that thousands of woman live daily, a dead end marriage, with an egotistical, self-centered husband. With the help of an oh-so-sexy colleague she manages to escape her death-trap reality and walk right into a bright new future (and the strong arms of Jesse...)How V manages to keep her hands off that delectable body until her divorce is finalized is an extraordinary accomplishment! If only the world was filled with men, like Jesse, heaven would surely be a place on earth. I couldn't decide what I loved more about him, his chivalrous mannerisms, his protectiveness toward V, his strong motivated personality that moves her to passive behind into taking that step towards helping herself or...could it be that ridiculous body? Mmmm...!Jesse brings V back to life.Within the pages of Separation Anxiety I found a true work of art and I loved every page.I highly recommend reading this book!

Holy smokes...the title couldn't be any more "perf" and fitting for Veronica's story. The sexual tension between V and Jesse is off the charts explosive. I felt like my love and need was building up right along with theirs. Lisa provided me with a strong connection to both Veronica and Jesse. We get V's inner thoughts throughout the novel but Jesse opens up in his own time and his words couldn't be more touching and raspily, sexy. V wants to break free of her broken, unhappy marriage and this is her journey. She feels separated from many things: symbolically, emotionally, and physically and her anxiety was matched with my own due to some of the things she was separated from but to also the unknown of how Fate would chose for situations to pan out. This ride is thrilling, sexy, building up until it explodes. Do you want to know the aftermath of said explosion? Then give this a try!! Review posted at: http://bookcrushbookreviews.com/2014/...

Veronica "V" Thomas is a high school English teacher who is hiding a secret from everyone she knows. Her marriage is failing and after trying to make it work for over a year and having no luck she decides she is done and wants out.

Jesse Drake is the schools guidance counselor. From the moment he laid eyes on Veronica he knew he wanted her to be his but he knew she was in a relationship and she seemed happy so he settled with being friends. When Veronica confides in him about her failed marriage he offers her a room at his house to stay.

Veronica is crushing on Jesse as well but she decides until her marriage is over she can't be with Jesse. The longer they are together, the harder it becomes for both of them but will Richard let Veronica go? When Richard makes life very difficult with lies for both Veronica and Jesse will they crack under pressure? Will Jesse wait for her marriage to be over?

This was an amazing story!! Once I started the book I didn't want to put it down. I loved Jesse Drake!! This book will def go into my list of top 2014 reads!!

I. Loved. This. Book. In my opinion, it was "perf" (Veronica's word for perfect). If you are an avid romance reader, I am sure you have numerous book boyfriends that make you swoon, but you NEED to meet Jesse "yummy pants" Drake. Sigh. He is pretty perfect. I am going to have Separation Anxiety from this man.

This is a kind of forbidden love story that is so sweet and wonderful. Veronica (V) starts off at a crossroads in her married life and she is realizing fate may have been wrong the first time around....

"We all get one true love in our lives, and it's up to us to find it. Fate will act and try to push us together, but ultimately it's up to us to recognize who that one person is when he is standing in front of us."

The best part about this book? The anticipation. I found myself holding my breath at times and hoping for a happily ever after, hard! Did I mention Jesse?? Sigh. Swoon. Love. ~ Krissy, 5 perf stars
