Death & the Zombie Apocalypse

Rate this book
All hope is lost. The zombies have stormed the University of Michigan’s Peabody Dormitory and there’s no way out of the building. Cage is missing and possibly dead. Rachel and her group of friends must somehow escape Ann Arbor and venture to the safe zone at Ford Field in Detroit.

As America turns into a wasteland of death and destruction, Rachel and her small group of survivors learn that the growing number of zombies isn’t their only problem — food and water supplies are dwindling, rogue gangs are terrorizing the cities and there is a rumor that the country will soon go dark as small pockets of America have already lost electricity. Can Rachel and her friends make it to the safe zone?

Death & the Zombie Apocalypse is the riveting second book in the Zombie Apocalypse Trilogy. For more information about this series or Chelsea Bellingeri’s other novels, please visit: www.chelseabellingeri.com or www.facebook.com/ChelseaBellinger

FULL rtc in the morning

This picks up right where the previous book left off, surrounded by zombies, Grab Morgan, and get to Adam's cousins house and from there they'll head to a safe zone.

That was the plan..

But when it comes to the zombie apocalypse those plans don't always go how they should.

By the end of this book one of this motley crew of survivors will be dead. Not by zombies but by a gang ravishing the countryside. The others barely make it out.

Can't get enough.

In a zombie apocalypse I picture myself as a Rachel, badass fearless leader, killing zombies without hesitation,
rescuing everyone..........but sadly I fear I will be just another Lindsey, a useless whiny brat. Who I love to hate.

Again like the first book, Love and the Zombie Apocalypse I could NOT put this down! Sleep? Food? Who needs that when you
have zombies!. Read this in one sitting, just a few hours. Ended too soon! Ugh! And that cliffhanger? Shook my kindle so hard
silently yelling Nnoo!! ( because it was 1am) I need more!!

The authors writing style draws me in. I feel like I'm killing zombies alongside Rachel, freaking out with Lindsey, laughing with Nicky,
And getting romantic with Cage........but wait is that a love triangle starting up with Adam?

Chelsea Luna Bellinger you rock! This may have only been the second book I've read of yours, but you have yet to disappoint.
If your other books are as great as these I doubt I will ever be.

Book #36 Read in 2014
Death and the Zombie Apocalypse by Chelsea Bellingeri (YA)

This is the second in a great young adult trilogy. This book picks up right where the first book left off...Rachel is trying to rescue Cage from the zombie that have overrun the college dorm. This book is once again non-stop action...with a little humor and romance thrown in. Rachel, Cage and their friends are trying to make it to Detroit to one of the military "safe zones" but of course that is easier said than done. I read this book in just over two hours....

I cannot wait for book three (published sometime this year). I received this book from the Amazon Prime Kindle Lending Library.

Trapped in a science camp dorm overrun with zombies, Rachel has found her little sister but got cut off from Cage. Finding their way back together isn't the hardest thing their group of survivors will have to face in this second part of the Zombie Apocalypse trilogy, though: The journey to the supposed safe zone of Ford Field comes with a number of nasty surprises, and not all of the group will make it there...
Fast-paced action interspersed with humour, romance and tragedy - a quick and entertaining read, just like book 1.

Chelsea Bellingeri NEVER disappoints. This book had everything: suspense, horror, romance, humor, and some amazing twists and turns. I could not put this book down. I had to find out how Cage, Rachel, Nicky, Adam, and the whole crew made it out next. Chelsea has a unique way of describing events so that the reader feels like they are right there with the characters. She is an extremely talented author, and I look forward to her next book.

OMG the ending I can't even talk right now, my mouth is still hanging open.
This was a action packed fast paced sequel.
Rachel is a kick ass girl with her bat, she will do anything to keep her sister safe. Cage will do anything to find Rachel back.
The group is trying to find a save place and every turn they make something goes wrong or they are being fought by zombies or other humans.
When is the next book coming out I need it today!!!

I loved this book so much that I could't put it down! The story line is great with constant action and plot twists to keep you on your toes! Im fifteen years old, so it can be hard to keep me interested in something, however Belingeri dodge an amazing job! I highly recommend this book and I cannot wait for the final book to come out later this year!

4,5 Stars.

Almost perfect!! If I could get more Selena's POV and the logic reason about 'Adam likes Rachel', I was thinking about 5 blinking stars. But that's okay, I hardly rate 5 stars anyway. 4,5 stars meaning very good, not perfect but still, worth it.
And I loved it! Dang, I love Nicky and his smartass comments lol.

So I was actually planning on reading a little bit of this one and then sleep. But then I just continued, and also read the third book. 3.5 hours later since the time I went to bed, and I had both finished. :P

This book immediately starts off where the last one left us, and I just adored that. You can just continue reading like it is one book split in two. Rachel is searching for Cage, and Cage is searching for a way out and also to be reunited with Rachel.

It was quite a harrowing few chapters. I am not sure what scares me more, adult zombies, or little kids. I think I pick the little kids as scariest. For so many reasons.

We pick up a new character along the way, and I have to say I did like the little guy a lot. He was strong, swift, stealthy, and he was dedicated to help out. Not a lot of little kids would have done the same, so I was very happy to see this character get added.

And they are off to a safe zone, or at least they hope so. On the way they go to Adam's family, and well, I have to say I liked Manny (though not so much later on), but Jorge was just terrible. I knew from the start what would happen, and I was kind of surprised that Manny didn't see it. Cage's reaction was a bit wow, sure, I can imagine why he did it, but it felt a bit overkill. I wasn't all that happy with what Jorge did. It is just not something I would like to see in my books.

Like with the previous book, don't get too attached to characters. I won't spoil anything of course, but wow. :( :(

The safe zone and what happened there? I wasn't that surprised by that outcome, it is something we see often in zombie books. Still I was sad for our characters, they deserve a moment of peace, quiet, and safety.

I have to say I am getting a bit tired of everyone and their mother falling for Rachel. :| It just got hilariously stupid. Suddenly x would be falling for Rachel. Then y would be falling for Rachel. All the while Cage got jealous.

The ending? What happened there? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOEESSSS *cries her eyes out*. That is all I will say.

As for my favourite character, it definitely switched to Nicky. I already liked him in the previous book, but I like his banter and outlook on everything even more now. Plus I love how sweet he is towards Lindsay.

Lindsay wasn't someone I liked at the beginning, and in the previous book I disliked her even more. But in this book I slowly started to see a different girl in her. A girl that just wants love and happiness.

But all in all I did enjoy this book a lot. There was a lot that went on, quite a few scary moments, zombies zombies and more zombies, sadness, and some romance.

A great continuation of the story started in the first book. The characters are interesting, and I like that we got to meet a few new characters in this book. Can't wait to read the next book and see where the story goes now.

This remains a cute series, and I will finish it when it is done. (Zombies and cute, right?), the trouble is the underwhelming language used throughout; ala: after school special triteness. The idea and the characters are decent overall, but some lines used in every book, too often, make my head hurt with how much better the book could have been if the author took the time to establish better language. E.G.: "Her clothes looked like she had spent a week fighting zombies." So it's a fair reading, decent scope, but the language is jolty, and at times, so are the characters; it makes what could be an excellent story a bit subpar.

Lots of action in this one! I know this isn’t real and it’s all pretend people are seriously so messed up in general but man, the worst comes out in during bad times... and Morgan! My heart. 😭

I have to say that this has been an amazing series so far. As soon as I finished book one, I was immediately on to DEATH AND THE ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE. And there is a turn of events that once it started peeking out I was like huh, alright then. Let’s see what this author is going to do with it. And as more peeks relating to this turn of events started happening I knew I was all on board. But my fear was it wouldn’t amount to anything. Guess I have to wait until book 3 to find out.

Vague much? Yeah I know. I am. But I cannot give it away. The story is just that good and am so utterly invested. I love these people. Well, most of them. Like all of them but Lindsay. She is just a horrible person.

Even though this series is a few years old, I love how it doesn’t seem it’s age. Especially with dialogue. The author did a great job letting it relate to any year when read.

Once again, I am off to read the last book of the series. So much heartbreak has overcome this crew over the last few days and they have to be at their breaking point. Will they make it to a safe zone or will they be picked off one at a time until no one is left in this dark, dead world? 5 Stars!!

I received a free copy of this book from a Goodreads giveaway. This is the 2nd book in a planned trilogy, so I read the first book before this one. It is advisable to start with the first book, as this book begins, with little explanation, where the first one ended.

Both books are very simply written, with teenaged protaganists, for a young adult audience. They do not, however, fail to deliver the horrifying, fast-moving action that one would expect from a zombie tale, and there is no reluctance to kill a sympathetic character. For those who are interested primarily in the romantic connections made between various characters, there is some of that as well.

Despite the face that I am not the intended audience, I enjoyed this book and would suggest it for any teenager looking for a little zombie escapism.
