The Storm Inside #2

Reflected in the Rain

Rate this book
Book Two of The Storm Inside Series And they lived happily ever after. Everyone else’s ending was more like our beginning. Marrying Jake was an easy decision, but living with Jake was another matter entirely. True, lasting love really is all about the work. And that work gets hard and dirty when certain people from the past don’t take a hint (like the wedding ring on your husband’s finger.) I don’t doubt Jake’s undying love for me for a second. He does, however, have a blindspot a mile wide for people with hidden agendas. I suppose I should adore the fact that Jake sees the good in people, but right now I kind of want to strangle him. I also wouldn’t mind taking a baseball bat to his ex. Jake is mine. He always has been and he always will be. I’ll do whatever it takes to keep it that way. Do. Not. Mess. With. My. Man. It won’t end well. I promise. I’ve waited too long and fought too hard to get my happily ever after. We had a wedding to prepare, a honeymoon to enjoy, and a life to plan. No one would be stupid enough to get in our way. Or so I thought. Color me surprised when Jake’s ex wiggled her way back into our lives. She says it’s just business, but I’m not taking any chances. We put the past behind us when I accepted Jake’s proposal and I’m not afraid to shove it back where it belongs. I will do whatever it takes to protect my life with Jake, even if it means playing dirty.

Jake and Eve-makes you believe in forever love

Alexis Anne is one of my go to authors. Everything she writes I read, without hesitation, the only thing is that you have to be ready and free up your schedule because there is no way you are going to put this down, for any reason, especially if you have can plug in your charger close to your bed ! Just when you think the story can't get any better, she will knock you on your butt and happily prove you wrong. Jake and Eve's story is one of my favorites. Reading, THE STORM INSIDE SERIES is like riding one of those rides at the CNE or county fair that you know is going to whip you around and churn up your insides, but you can't resist the thrill of the ride! This is the second book in the series and picks up from where The Storm Inside ends. I recommend reading them in order or else it's like walking in halfway through the movie, a really great, hot and sexy movie! Right from the start, you are laughing along with Jake and Eve's spicy, sexy sense of humour as they are getting ready for their Stag/Stagette parties, thrown by their best friends. BTW, kudos for the original and not skanky plans for the typical night of debotchery. Their path to love has never been easy but it's so worth the ride. They literally can't keep their hands, mouths and other body parts away from each other, it's so bad it's a thing with their friends who unmercilessly tease them about to no end. You can't blame them, they are so good together and are true soulmates. Everytime they hit a smooth patch, life throws them a curveball, but they work through it, their love is stronger than anyone or anything you can throw at them. The sexy times are frequent and breathtaking, so if you like your romance clean and safe this is not the series for you. For those of us who like to escape into a book and know that there is a way to survive the craziness inside and still come out the other side, the twists and turns will keep you glued to the pages, cheering for Jake and Eve everytime. I Highly Recommend any of Alexis Anne's books, especially this series, but I am highly addicted and biased , I just love her books! I would give 10 stars if I could. Yes, it's that good.

No one crosses Eve so watch out

Eve and Jake, Jennie and Andrew Greg and Ashley. Eve and Jake happily married now that was until Ashley turns up with a proposal for Jake and he can’t see she is trying to manipulate him, Eve gave her a warning that Ashley didn’t adhere to so the game was on. No one crosses Eve and hurt property so working secretly with Greg and Andrew they did a job on her, oh and Eve won. Then she had to come clean with Jake he was so mad not realising Ashley was manipulating him and he had friends and his love fighting for him. This is a great fun and sexy book and has a great plot to it too, I highly recommend this to lovers

Problem targeted. Problem locked in. Problem dealt with. Move on.

That is basically what happens in Reflected in the Rain. The problem? She was introduced at the end of The Storm Inside (book one). Reflected in the Rain sees Jake and Eve married, enjoying their honeymoon, and coming home to face Jake’s past.

Once again, I skimmed every other page of make-up sex to get to the dialogue and actual story. If you learn to do that quickly in book one, you’ll carry it over to book two. The story is good, fast-paced, and entertaining. The dialogue is one of the best things about these books. Don’t skip it!

I’m confused by my reactions to this book. I enjoyed the story, but there were so many fiddly little things that drove me to distraction. I loved that Jake and Eve were getting better at talking with one another, but I’m not sure they actually communicated; there were so many things that I don’t think they heard each other say. It was fun to see this slice of ‘after Happily Ever After’, but it took so long for them to deal with the root of the issue they were experiencing.

Nada extraordinario

No necesita ser una serie en solo libro se puede contar las historia de Eve y Jack. Me hubiera gustado que desarrollarán más el drama con la llegada de Ashley.

Wow.

Alexis went above and beyond on this one. The Ashley drama just made Jake and Eve’s love that much better. I loved how Eve handled those issues. She put Ashley in her place. I loved it.

This was cute and had lots of sex but I wanted to see them with a baby. Hopefully I will this in Greg's book. I just wanted them to deal with Ashley quicker. It was so drawn out.

**KIM'S REVIEW**

“So my future was simple: love Eve with everything in me and protect us from the world.”

When Alexis Anne first told me we would be getting more Jake and Eve to say I was excited is an understatement! When she sent me the ARC I was doing backflips! SQUEEE!! Jake & Eve are back and are better than ever!!

“Do you know you’ve asked me to marry you fourteen times?”

“And it’s still not enough.”

Reflected in the Rain starts off with Jake and Eve getting ready to go out for their bachelor/bachelorette parties. Eve is feeling a little insecure and the best way to solve that is with a pretty hot sex scene!

“Orgasms that powerful should be illegal.”

Yup, the sex scenes in this book are just as explosive as the first!!! The love these two have for each other, you can literally feel it lift off the pages as you read their story. But you know how as your reading and everything just seems to perfect? You just know that something bad is going to happen? Yeah it does…

“Well that was an interesting development. A really y unexpected, crappy development.”

A week before their wedding, Jake’s ex, Ashley, shows up saying she needs him to help sell a product that they built together. Everyone except Jake knows that Ashley is up to no good. Ashley was always Jake’s weakness. He felt because they both had f*cked up pasts that he could understand and relate to her better than anyone else. Therefore, only seeing her with rose colored glasses.

Half of me was screaming, “What are you doing, moron? Kick her ass!” While the other half of me was calming reassuring, “That’s it, lead her in, make her feel comfortable, then kick her ass.”

Eve is badass in this book!! Even though she knows Jake loves her she couldn’t help but get jealous over Ashley. Honestly, I didn’t blame her one bit. If it was me, I would’ve had Jake sitting in the dog house longer than she did.

“Stay away from my husband. You have on opportunity. One. I do not give second chances.”

See I told you Eve is BADASS!! And when Greg and Eve team up together to try and get Ashley out of the picture as fast as possible…it is epic!

“Well, now that we have that all settled….your time is up. Off to your broom or hotel or whatever it is you witches use these days.”

Greg has hated Ashley from the minute he met her. He knew how Jake was with her and he hated it. Greg just wanted Jake to see Ashley for the manipulative bitch she is!

“You need someone to weather the storm with, not be the storm.”

This sequel was a perfect follow up to The Storm Inside. Once I started, it was impossible to put down. I stayed up late to read it and finished it in about 3 hours. I cannot stress enough how much I LOVE these two!! You all definitely NEED to go 1-click and meet Jake & Eve!! I am sad that their story is finished BUT Greg’s book is NEXT!! AND I CAN’T FREAKIN WAIT!! Greg was awesome in this story and I know his book is not going to disappoint!

“And that was the beginning and the end of everything.”

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Jake and Eve are back, and as hot as ever in Reflected in the Rain, the second book in the Storm Inside series. This picks up before the romantic nuptials and the reader gets to fall in love with this couple all over again through the hot, sexy and equally romantic honeymoon. But just as in life, the honeymoon must end, and reality rears its ugly head in the form of a woman from Jake’s past.

I really enjoyed this book. The tension was high between Jake and Eve as they navigated murky waters stirred up by Jake’s ex-girlfriend. It was really well written and I liked how the couple faced major issues that could have threatened the relationship, but never went too far for there to be redemption. It showed how even the deepest love can be threatened. I really loved the development of the friendship turned brotherly love between Eve and Greg, and hope to see more of them in the future.

I was excited to get back to Jake and Eve's love story! Alexis Anne's writing takes me on an exciting journey every time. The heat between Eve and Jake is beyond intense. I loved the first book in this series, Into The Storm, and with the second, Reflected in the Rain, I wasn't sure what to expect - and I was blown away. Eve is a strong, funny woman and I love her thought process. Jake is a smokin' hot man that can go toe to toe with Eve anytime. Love these two!

I can't wait for the next book. This book was just the right mix of smexy and romance with just a touch of realistic relationship problems.
This book also developed the characters just enough unlike many other books that are on my smexy shelf.
If you want to read an arousing yet interesting book, this is it. Just don't forget the read the first book in this series.

Dealing with the past is very confronting but when it's in your face what lengths will you go to to protect the one you love.
