Love was never an option in the deadly, sparkling world of supernatural New Orleans. Now it might be the only thing that saves them all.

Darbonne Heroux never intended to fall for a mortal. Perfectly content to ride out the oncoming end of vampires in brooding isolation, he wants nothing to do with love- or with the responsibilities his small New Orleans clan keeps trying to thrust upon him. Then he meets Amy Trosclair. Awkward, flighty and oh-so-human, she could be the one destined to thaw Darbonne's reluctant heart. Unfortunately, she might also be destined to destroy the entire supernatural world- and him along with it.

Author note: This novel is the first volume of the ongoing serial story Courtyards of the Lost on Kindle Vella. This volume includes the events depicted in episodes 1- 37. It has been updated and edited for ebook publication. Courtyards of the Lost is an emotional roller coaster of a romance/saga with multiple POV, angst, slow burn heat, romantic tension, and an assortment of hot mess vampires who make really bad decisions but find their way to love despite it all.
Because this story is ongoing, there is a cliffhanger ending and many threads are left open.

Good story

Can't wait to finish. The world building is slow but good. Enough to keep you engaged in the story. Necromancer? Maybe...on to the next book

This just...

...Ends. I really hate cliffhangers and this is terrible. There's more to the story but you need to read the whole series to find out. I can't I'm afraid, I have had enough of Darbonne's angst. Which really ought to been resolved in this book.
