Probably closer to 4.5 stars - This was a re-read of the 1st two books in the series. I got the book at a book sale and wanted to re-read before passing along. The target audience is probably 5th graders (and mostly girls). The stories keep moving. The first one has Emily finding out that she is a mermaid and what that will mean to her. The second one has her causing some problems and saving the day.

I really enjoyed reading the book and She didn't know that she is part mermaid. I like how she stood up in the court to save her case and her father's.
