Couldn't make it halfway to the comic, so skimmed the rest. Bad dialogue, bad story, bad plot, bad main character, cliche as hell with everything in it, bad artwork, bad bad bad.
I met Jeffrey Kaufman at New York Comic Con 2013, where I purchased a copy of Whore from him. It's taken me this long to read it, but it's definitely an interesting read. Jacob Mars is a well developed character with a checkered and interesting past that has brought him to where he is today. Whore latches onto the concept of what it means to be a hired gun, a sellsword, a stud, or a whore and puts it into modern context. Definitely a worthwhile read!
The artist looks like they used stock images so intent wasn't matching action half the time in this initially entertaining but eventually tedious graphic novel.
Stay for the butts and exaggerated sex, really. Leave when even that wouldn't hold your attention from all the cliches.
I didn’t really read this comic, I do like the artwork I read like half and the others I skimmed but big art fan. And it’s great and the stuff I read I had no problem with but of course didn’t read everything so it could be problematic for the killer vibes and John wick. Such as the cleaner of bodies pretty cliche in the genre os spy hitMan genre. Regardless a 4/5 but as a art admirer.
From the author who brought you Terminal Alice comes a new story about an out on his luck spy who is will to do just about anything to in order to keep the paychecks coming in. I enjoyed the main character, the story and plot devices used. I didn't like the art this time around (which was made by the same person who did Terminal Alice) but I felt the plot was strong enough for me to over this once again. I would suggest this to anyone who enjoys campy yet entertaining spy misadventures in a modern setting.
I enjoyed the story. It's a new idea that has not been done in movies or books. I found this graphic novel at Dragon*Con in Atlanta where the author had a booth. It was the premiere of Whore and it was entertaining watching him tell people that the whore was a man; he even had a sign made up saying the same thing.
