Sonja F. Blanco grew up in New England where she ran barefoot through the woods, chased lightning bugs, tapped maple trees for syrup, and built towering snow castles.

Having an ancestor who was hung as a witch, Sonja is naturally drawn to all things magical and fantastical—trees and cemeteries in particular.

At 5’2” she is often caught climbing tables, chairs, and small children to reach the upper shelves. She likes coffee and tea equally, both of which most certainly contributed to her diminutive stature.

Witty comics easily amuse her, as do heavily jowled Hell Hounds that talk in their sleep.
She writes fantasy as if it were real, because believing makes it so.

This is book 3 in the Witch of ware woods series by Author Sonja F. Blanco. These books are meant to be read in order and I suggest this as well. There is one continuous timeline that would be confusing if not read in the published sequence.

"Must you always be so reckless? Don't answer that! Just stay quiet and DON'T MOVE."

This is the ultimate conclusion to an amazing series. The family that Sara has built and the romance between her and Thomas are chef's kiss. When I was BETA reading this book, the amount of emotions I felt were intense at times. I laughed, I cried and felt so much fear because I just didn't know what was going to happen. Sonja has written such an incredible world with beautiful characters that you just can help but feel like they are part of your own family. Her books are beautifully poetic and the story has kept me invested wholeheartedly. If you want a story that will consume your life and have you actually wanting to live in the world, pick this series up. It's filled with magic, surprises and lore plus an intricately woven world that is so descriptive that I can imagine myself walking through Ware Woods. Congratulations on an epic ending worth all the tears that I shed. Sonja has outdone herself and this series is definitely trophy worth for your shelves.

This is book 3 of the Witch of Ware Woods trilogy and I have to admit that I've still not caught up with the first book, Witch Of Ware Woods, but I did read and review book 2, Death And Dragons, about a year ago and still had a pretty good memory of what had happened so far.

The story continues on nicely from where we left off in book 2 and it was really nice to be back in Ware Woods again.
I instantly fell back into the rhythm as the story flowed on.

It was great to see how Sara has developed through the last book a d on throughout this one. So completely different from the character I was introduced to at the start of book 2 - and I imagine that growth went right back through the first book too.
It was also lovely to see that Thomas was still around and still offering support, advice and love along the way.

In this book we see the worst threat so far in the stronger Shadow Mother. A formidable force seeking to destroy and steal - but Sara has to learn to trust others and put hope in their hearts before they can work together to keep what's theirs.

I enjoyed this book more than the last - probably because I was a little more invested in the characters and more aware of this world of magic.
This was certainly an exciting finish with lots of action and heart-stopping moments, but I loved that there was a killer twist, some funny moments and a lot of compassion too!

I absolutely still want to read the series as a whole in the future.
But, I've loved these 2 books - a great writing style and relatable characters with a beautiful setting and exciting storyline.
I'd definitely recommend.

The high-stakes, addicting conclusion of the Witch of Ware Woods trilogy, Spells & Shadows is infused with magic, secrets, and the reminder that love, in all its forms, is the strongest magic of all.

For Sara Lochton, High Witch of Ware Woods, the stakes have never been higher, or the foes deadlier. In this emotionally charged finale, Sonja Blanco reminds us that our greatest strengths are often found in the darkest of times, and where there is hope, there are those willing to fight for peace, even to their own end.

Sara’s journey has taken her from magical misfit to matriarch of Ware Woods. Learning to trust herself has never been an easy task, but Sara’s compassion for all magicals is the driving force behind her power. As she prepares to come face-to-face with the Shadow Mother, her mettle is tested again and again, hardening her resolve like tempered steel. Spells & Shadows takes this to a new level as sacred sites are threatened and the lines between enemies and allies blur. With the Shadow Mother bearing down on Ware Woods, former foes seem like child's play as Sara seeks answers from the distant past.

Sara and Thomas are relationship goals without a doubt. Even when they don't see eye-to-eye, there is nothing but love and support between these two (and golden nuts LOL <3), and I am LIVING for the small moments they manage to steal together while being wrapped up in the very probable end of the world. Alongside the epic romance of our main duo, I am obsessed with how Blanco cultivates and reveals relationships among the other characters, pairing off hearts with a subtle grace that both exemplifies and also normalizes. The representation within these books is a five-star reason on its own, but woven within this gorgeous narrative, it's only one of many reasons to pick up the WoWW series right now!

Since book 1 in the WoWW trilogy, I have admired how Sonja Blanco has integrated the natural forest settings into the narrative as tangible characters that feel as deeply as the magical beings living within their realms. I have adored watching Sara grow into herself and her power, and the end of this one had me SOBBING. No spoilers, but it gave me full-on Sailor Moon vibes in the BEST way.

With swoon-worthy moments, heart-pounding danger, and a few laugh-out-loud moments sprinkled in amongst the tension and drama, Spells & Shadows is the paranormal romance you don't want to miss!

Sonja F. Blanco’s “Spells & Shadows” is the thrilling conclusion to her Witch of Ware Woods trilogy, and I thought it was such an amazing way to end the trilogy!

There is so much happening all at once in this book, and it makes for a wild ride from start to finish. I also thought that Sara’s character development was very well-done.

At this point, I’ve become so attached to this world and these characters, and the fact that the trilogy is over is a very bittersweet feeling for me.

The action and battle scenes were completely and utterly epic, and I enjoyed all the plot twists and politics that were going on as well!

All in all, I am so glad that I decided to read the Witch of Ware Woods trilogy. I’m also happy to have discovered Sonja F. Blanco as an author, and I highly recommend this trilogy to any fantasy fan!

Spells and Shadows by Sonja F Blanco.
Witch of Ware Woods Book 3.
I really really enjoyed this book. I loved the cover. I do love this series. I loved Sara. I did love sara and thomas and how they were together. I got into it straight away. I loved how the magic was described. I felt like I was there in the shadows watching everything happening. Couldn't put it down. I loved everything in this book. It's a shame it's the final book, but sonja finished it perfectly. 5*.

Sara does everything in her power to protect those in Ware Woods from the evil of the Shadow Mother.

Mʸ Tᴴᴼᵁᴳᴴᵀs
Sara continues to be both a fearless leader and a woman who doubts her abilities. She is forced to face her fears, including wondering if she is strong enough to defeat the Shadow Mother.

The events unfold with impeccable timing, grabbing my attention from beginning to end. There were several times when I was on edge, not knowing what was about to happen. That feels so bad, yet so good. You know what I mean!

I love everything about this story! The characters are perfection, the setting is full of beauty and adventure, and the ending is just what the doctor ordered. Sonja’s writing is so descriptive and fits smoothly with the flow of this book.

💕Thank you to the author for providing this ebook for me to read and review.

So many thanks to Sonja for the advanced copy of her book.

Sonja is an incredible author and I’m excited to see what comes next from her. Her language is carefully selected and descriptive. Her cast of characters is so endearing, I love them all to pieces. The series as a whole is incredibly original, something I don’t really expect much from fantasy books.

While this book felt slow to start (like not much was happening), it did hit its stride and is a shining conclusion to the series. It makes me want to reread the other books. The story is complicated and the characters are so loveable—I’m sure there’s more to learn from a second read.

I also find it worth noting that, at least to me, the obvious pairing off of virtually every single character through this series is a little cheesily nauseating. With that said, I’m your resident romance hater and the characters are such a sweet little family that I love so much that I don’t even care.

Also worth noting: this book is (to me) much less sexually explicit (not that the other books were EXPLICIT; they were just spicier) than its predecessor and totally one I would feel comfortable handing to my students.

In conclusion: I love Ware Woods. And I recommend it.

Here is my review of Spells and Shadows by Sonja F Blanco

I got into the third book of the trilogy straight away and immediately loved the author’s writing style. It then seemed like it hadn’t been that long since I had been reading her work which is just magical, just like her imagination is! The book is easy to read and there is a good description of characters and places given to give you a feeling of being in the story. The writing is excellent, the plotting is just superb whereas the descriptive prose is just wonderful and present throughout the story. I loved the storyline and especially the characters which seemed so alive. Sara was written so well and had such a big part to fulfill in this book, and she rose to the occasion. I hope it’s not the end of this series as I have loved it so much, hopefully there will be another book over the horizon sometime in the future!

In this third and final instalment of the Witch of Ware Woods series, we’re taken on a roller coaster ride of emotions. Powerful love bonds are tested, ruthless villains terrorize the magical sites, and divine entities emerge with profound connections and table-turning consequences as the main character, Sara Lochton, struggles to restore balance in the world. Fans of the series will be happy to revisit the spicy, swoon-worthy chemistry between Sara and Thomas, and the action-packed lengths they will go through to protect their fated love.

Spells & Shadows is my cup of tea. It’s more than just a paranormal romance… it’s a powerful story of fated love, forced trust, and unexpected betrayal, made all the more thrilling with its population of fascinating, flawed characters, a fierce female lead, as well as an eclectic mashup of magical creatures. Witches, vampires, shapeshifters, and dragons. Creatures who not always get along, suddenly forced to collaborate to take down a common enemy - the Shadow Mother.

The writing is brilliant, and there’s an underlying wit to Blanco’s penmanship that I adore so much. It was easy to remain fully immersed in the storyline as it flowed from page to page at an engaging pace, with plenty of intense scenes to keep me wanting to read more. And the world building is vibrant and tangible… a place that draws you in, makes you want to leave the world we know and step into the unknown.

Just like the rest of the series, this book is a fantasy-lover’s dream. Where I’m sad that this is the series conclusion, I’m secretly praying for a spin-off. I think Lethal needs their own story!

Witch of Ware Woods series is a heady mix of all things fantasy you could want in a book - witches, vampires, wolf shifters, dragon shifters - name it! And not just a mix, but a well-thought-out recipe that blends all the flavours perfectly!

In this final book in the series, Sara, high witch of Ware Woods, finds herself facing the Shadow Mother, an evil entity that wants to destroy and devour not just Waste Woods and the magical world, but eventually the normal world as well. As Sara scrambles to bring the magical factions together to fight against the Shadow Mother, she questions her own ability to lead the fight and to finally destroy the Shadow Mother. With her bonded mate Thomas, a dragon shifter, by her side, and the entire magical world looking up to her to bring some peace, she must make the ultimate sacrifice if she has to win this battle.

As with the previous books, I absolutely enjoyed this series. There is a diverse cast of characters which colour this world vividly. Even with such a huge cast, the author still holds the threads of the story together and weaves a rich narrative. I've loved the world building in this series, and the ideas of sacred magical sites with their soul trees which could connect with each other.

One thing I admired about the author was her ability to write about so many magical entities and yet not make the story too convoluted or overwhelming. The story followed its perfect pace and weaved through all these entities in one tight bond which made the story perfect.

I loved the relationships among the various characters, and absolutely enjoyed the steam between Sara and Thomas. The banter was too good. I'm actually sad that the series has come to an end, but the ending was perfect, the final battle epic!

Highly recommended!

This is Book 3 of the Witch of Ware Wood Series.

First up, I ADORE that cover. It is so pretty! I also love how, for the most part, the artwork is pretty much the same and just the colour changes!

I confess that while I bought Book 1 and 2, I haven't had chance to read them but I don't feel like I was at too much a disadvantage as Sonja explains things nicely.

In this book, we follow Sara as she tries to stop the Shadow Mother before she claims Thomas and, in the process, also save everyone else!

I love Sara. I love how she is fiery and strong she is. She is the perfect role model for the teenage girls of Sonja's target age range.

Thomas is also brilliant as her supporter and also bonded mate. Their love comes across as powerful in the books and also the words to describe it.

While it is a fantasy, the way that Sonja writes the story makes it entirely accessible to all. The narrative pulls you into the story as you watch what happens to Sara and her friends and family.

The story itself is unique and not something I have come across before, and I enjoyed reading it.

I will be going back and binging on Book 1, Book 2, and then Book 3 (again!) so that I get the complete Ware Woods experience.

A brilliant read and one that both YAs and Adults would enjoy!

Fly, levitate, time travel, I don’t care what you have to do but grab this series right now! If you love witchy reads and you love books that have dragons than this book is your cup of potion. I have read every book prior to this one and love the world building. It is reminiscent to the community that the twilight world tried to build with werewolves, vampires, and witches. I actually think she nailed this series as it provides growth of the characters and not just the main character. The villain is super maddening and I hated her! The bond between the main character and her lover is beautiful. The spice went up a bit in the third installment but that is to be expected as couples grow and well magic entangles and searches for one another. The writer is an expert at suspense as well as crafting a good story over the course of time. Each book seemingly gets better and better. I can honestly say if this author writes it- I buy it without even looking what it is about. She has built that trust! It’s amazing!

If you want to give it a try pick up your broom sticks ladies, and let’s fly to Warewoods!

Spells & Shadows is the perfect conclusion to the magical Witch of Ware Woods trilogy. Sara is once again a feisty and fierce protagonist who is willing to sacrifice everything for the ones she loves. In this book, Sara grows tremendously as a leader and high witch while she prepares to defeat the terrifying Shadow Mother.

As a couple, Sara and Thomas continue to grow in their fiery passion and prove their unconditional love toward one another. The side characters we know and love get plenty of page-time and agency, making this new challenge a true team effort. This installment of the series not only gets darker with heavier themes, but also more magical!

I have loved everything about this series, so the trilogy ending is very bittersweet. I highly recommend Spells & Shadows and the entire Witch of Ware Woods trilogy to those who love witches, vampires, shifters, and all things magic! I will be thinking about Sara, Thomas, and the rest of the Ware Woods crew for years to come. Five magical stars from me!

Wow! Hang on tight for the twists and turns you won't expect coming at you in Spells & Shadows' epic finale.

The animated grimoire is my favorite thing out of this series. Who wouldn't love to have a book that can give advice?

I love Sara and Thomas and how their relationship just kept getting better and better. All the side characters were true to the entire series and had wonderful backgrounds masterly woven in throughout. This read was a fantastic end to a solid trilogy.

If you're interested in YA, witchy things, dragons, vampires, shapeshifters, and trees. Yes, trees. Sonja does a marvelous job of making trees an integral part of the magic system. If you like those things, then this series is for you.

Witch of Ware Woods trilogy gives you paranormal characters, a huge dash of small town vibes and modern society full of magic.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this honest review voluntarily.

Spells and shadows is the thrilling conclusion to the witch of where Woods trilogy. It was fantastic! Each one of these books is better than the last. Sarah has finally come into her own as a high witch. She is stronger, more powerful, and more determined to eliminate the shadow mother. She is willing to make the ultimate sacrifice to protect those she loves. Her relationship with Thomas is the perfect example of true, lifelong love. I really like these two characters, and how their relationship has grown and developed. All the characters in the story are very well developed and their interactions with each other are fabulous. They are all very important to the story. The story is well written and enjoyable. This is the perfect why I fancy read. I’m sad to say goodbye to these characters and their stories.

Spells and Shadows by Sonja Blanco

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

GENRE: Fantasy (magical realism)

PROS:
🌳 Final book in a trilogy
🌳 Characters remain true to themselves
🌳 New characters were delightful
🌳 Danger/issues were believable

CONS:
🔥 The character I disliked in book 1 I still dislike
🔥 A few parts felt a bit rushed or confusing
🔥 I predicted a few of the twists

Book 3 in the Witch of Ware Woods trilogy was amazing. I loved Sarah’s journey and her relationship with Thomas and all the other characters own journeys. Most of them wrapped up in a way I loved and wanted for them.

But the battle for good and evil in the book was surprising and so much fun to witness. If you love nature and elemental magic, I cannot recommend this series enough.

Sara and Thomas have been swoon-worthy throughout the entire series, though this book delves a bit deeper, creating some powerful sparks and deepening their connection (I know. It doesn’t seem possible, right?). Every good thing about the rest of the series was present in this book, but amped even higher. There was so much tension surrounding the situation with the Shadow Mother and Brad (shudders), so many secrets to uncover, and some truly beautiful messages behind this tale. Messages of accepting and giving freely…of loving freely. I have adored this series, and if you love magical beings of all sorts, found family, actual family, and deep, all-encompassing love in all forms, you need to read this book (and the rest of the series first).

What a phenomenal way to wrap up an incredible trilogy. I have been such a big fan of Sonja’s writing and the world of Ware Woods. From the characters, to the love story, to all the magical creatures and whimsy of the magical sites, I have loved every moment of these books.

I really enjoyed reading the progression of Sara and Thomas’ relationship and how they both changed so much over the course of the three books. Spells and Shadows was rich with adventure, romance, and devious characters. It was so exciting to see Sara really come into her own and become the High Witch that her mother would’ve been so proud of. From the secrets of Ware Woods, to the battle of good vs evil, every moment of this trilogy has been an absolute treat.

The Shadow Mother is coming and Sara knows as Hugh Witch she has to defeat her. Only she has a myriad of problems on top of this looming threat: her bonded mate is now part dragon, her beloved cousin is a vampire, her enemy now ally is still needing to prove his loyalty. Will Sara be able to find the answers she needs to stop the Shadow Mother for good while also keeping her loved ones safe?

This is an EPIC conclusion! Sonja has outdone herself ONCE AGAIN with her writing and her incredible character and world building! Sara is someone I want to be besties with and I want Caleb to give me all the hugs!

Heartfelt conclusion to a fabulous series. I'm talking ALL the feels! Watching Sara grow as a character in Book 1 (Witch of Ware Woods) and to fully coming into her own has been an emotional journey.

I love her relationship with Thomas, and I know you will, too. They take #fatedmates to a whole other level.

The worldbuilding and side characters are also amazing!! A true #foundfamily, bringing together all things magical including shifters, vampires, and (of course) witches.

Blanco's pacing is perfect, and will keep you on the edge of your seat. While I'm sad the trilogy is over, I can't wait to see what she has in store for readers next.

I greatly enjoyed the character development of Sarah throughout the books. I loved that there was a little bit of romance, epic adventure, magic and dragons! This is an epic ending to the Witch of Ware Woods trilogy.

A full of twists and a lot of character development in the story making the final book of the Witch of Warewoods epic!

There are a lot to like in the plots and characters but I am amazed with the thought of light and dark grimoires! They are a fun addition to the world of Ware Woods!

For those who loves fantasy, you will like this book as it contains about witches, wolves, vampires, dragons and so much more - a world inside a book that is well defined and descriptive, beautifully written. Well done, Sonja! ❤️☺️

Spells and Shadows was a wonderful conclusion to the Witch of Ware Woods trilogy. I absolutely love this series and was both excited and sad at the fact that I would find out how it ends but did not want it to end at the same time. I love all the characters and their relationships with each other! They had me laughing, smiling, rooting for them, face palming, gasping, and on the verge of tears. I'm obsessed with the world Sonja created and wish that I could stay in it forever.

Thank you to the author for the opportunity to receive an ARC and read this wonderful book. I enjoyed every second.

A good ending for very good trilogy. I enjoyed this series. I don't normally enjoy YA, but these booksnfelt more New Adult to me, which helped.

This book brings together a lot of different people from a lot of different magical communities. There are a lot of characters to keep track of, and I did sometimes find myself struggling to remember who some people were.

I did find myself liking Sara and Thomas as a couple actually bit more. I wasn't a huge fan of them in the first two books because I felt their foundation as a couple was lacking.

What a fantastic end to the Witch of Ware Woods series! If you love a strong heroine, bonded mates, a unique magic system, plus vampires, wolf shifters, and dragons, then this is a must read.

Sonja's delivers magically beautiful work from her wonderful writing style and magnificent world building, to the editing, formatting, and amazing covers. Sara and Thomas are a terrific couple, but the side characters are equally fabulous.

I highly recommend this YA Fantasy.

I’ve loved all of Sonja’s books. She has a way of immersing you into the story and not letting you go! This was an epic conclusion to Sara’s journey and there were many moments I gasped out loud and showed up in her DM’s just to chat or send many emojis and gifs as to how I was feeling! I don’t cry easily and a few moments had me tearing up!

This was a surprising addictive read and I was able to pick up on the story even though I had not read the first 2 books in the series. I loved the characters and especially love any book with a Dragon character in it. The characters had a fluid interaction which is sometime something that doesn't hit right with some writing styles but Sonja gets it right from page one. I started this book one day and finished it at 2am the next morning as I was unable to put it down. I am now going back to read the other installments as I want to be able to see the back story of the characters that I love - especially Sara, Thomas and the Lynx who comes into the story.

She is a great writer and the art work is amazing. So go add her on all your social media’s. And read this series you won’t regret it. Thank you so much for the opportunity Sonja f. Blanco.
