Seventeen years ago, a one-night stand between Erin and Seth led to an accidental pregnancy, which led to partnership, then to love, then to marriage, then to family. Through all of that, their lives have never gotten less complicated. Now their daughters are teenagers, and they have to adjust to a new stage of life.

Incarnate is a slice-of-life novella that is best read after the preceding books about Erin and Seth--Nameless and Christening.

Claire has been writing romance novels since she was twelve years old. After teaching English at the university level for several years, she started writing full-time under two different pen names. She lives in Virginia.

Her early books are sexy contemporary romances filled with heat and real emotion, but with the Hold series she transitioned to science fiction romance. Her current books are steamy post-apocalyptic romance set in the near future after a global catastrophe. I felt all sudden sappy and I have to admit I cried a bit. not because it was sad. The opposite.
This novella wasn't short and for sure wasn't short about feelings and love. Also about family and things that happen in life with consequences (as guilt).
This story, and I mean the whole series, was the best. and for so many reason : normal characters with different personality and own struggle but not over the top drama.
so with that family I could feel and understand what going on with them thank to the Amazing writting of the author.
those emotions and worries felt real and could be real because happen in life. having children we aim to make their life in the happiest and healthiest place.
And reading how they went with ages was a bonus from the author that I didn't expect. Seth older and Erin older and they loved through the age even with changes but in their eyes always more.
I loved how Seth expressed himself even with difficulties, that how he was, but with sincerity and vulnerability for his love ones.
and how he plotted!!
I wouldn't complain about another short story. I wouldn't feel it dragging. just another happy place.

Seth and Erin are getting older but their love and attraction is strong in this novella. Their daughters are now teens and facing dating and insecurities. Seth and Erin handle it in such a touching way as the great parents they are. I teared up a little, but it also made me smile. An enjoyable story.

Erin and Seth

It really doesn’t further along their story but it gives you a glimpse of the future which you don’t typically get.

Mostly about raising teen daughters and how they deal with the first date.

Out of the series I think I loved this book the most. It shows love can stand the test of time, and it’s challenges. It shows how staying in love can give so much to your children too.

I loved this side of Seth the most. Erin’s always been the emotional side but Seth shared his this time just as much.

I also would love to read Anna and Mackenzie’s stories.

I missed the update about Erin’s father and about Liz in this book.

This love reminds me so much of my own husbands love for me. Beautiful story. And I love the lust they still feel for each other. Not many couples keep that, it’s rare and special.

I throughly enjoyed this story. The tenderness with their daughters, the love and steaminess as a couple. The next stage of their lives before they become empty nesters-and the note that when they do have their kids in college that they’re relationship will be still as strong.

I couldn't think of a better way to end this series! This adorable novella was everything I wanted and more. We have obviously grown to know and love Seth and Erin from the previous installments, and there was so much emotion in this book that really rang true for the characters. They felt real and relate-able. I love seeing them with their children, and they have a great approach to family. This may have been my favorite of the series!

Another enjoyable instalment for this series. Once again I enjoyed the realistic feeling to this story. I absolutely loved following Seth and Erin's journey from their first meeting in Nameless to now as parents of teenager daughters in Incarnate. There are not too many series that I've been able to follow a couple over those years, usually once they find their HEA that's the last we see of them.

The only reason I haven't given the last book and this one 5 stars is that I still feel we are missing a little of Seth's background and his childhood. It was touched on but considering it was such a huge part of his life that effected who he became and how he handled his relationship with his wife and daughter emotionally, I felt a little more of that backstory was needed.

Still highly enjoyable and a series I would really recommend.

This was my favorite of the series. LOVED LOVED LOVED this book. This series is so emotional. I absolutely adore Seth~he is still complicated and still struggles with his feelings but to the core he is all good. His character tries so hard to be a good dad and husband and when he makes mistakes he tries so hard to fix them. He loves his family so much. I love the way that Erin really sees him and understands him so well. I love how she tries to explain Seth to their daughters to make them see what he is really feeling. Just love them together so much!!! This story pulled me in and I wish that it was longer because I wasn't ready to let this family go. So good and although this story was just as emotional as the others, it was also so funny. Anna cracks me up. This is definitely a favorite of mine. Belle's Book Bag Top Pick.

I had no idea this had come out and was so happy I stumbled upon it. I loved Seth and Erin from their first book and I couldn't be happier the author keeps gifting us with little glimpses into their future. Seth and Erin fought hard to get their happily ever after but we all know life doesn't end there. Fortunately there aren't issues with them as a couple, but more with how they are with their girls. I love that. This is written so realistically. Plus it made me fall even more in love with Seth :)
Thank you to the author for giving us these little snapshots into after happily ever after.
Amazing read!

The conclusion of Seth and Erin Thomas' love story, ten years after the precious story ends and Seth and Erin have a whole different set of issues facing them as they deal with their teenage daughters and their growing up issues. It was beautiful to see the love for each other didn't end and they were stronger together and had come so far with Mackenzie and Anna.

I enjoyed this final story a lot, I wish more authors wrote novellas that were ten years on. It's a great concept! I loved their interaction with their children and it gave the reader an insight into how far Seth and Erin had come from the first time we met them.

SUCH A BEAUTIFUL LOVE STORY!

I loved this novel with Seth and Erin. They had a rough start, but it was amazing to see them still married with their daughters nearly grown. It was so touching to see how much in love they still were, and how their sex life was going strong.

If only they had a son, it all would have been perfect. I don't remember Seth being that old when Mac was born
, and wasn't there only five years between she and Seth?

I could relate to Seth and Erin in this book. Watching your kids grow up, wanting to date, comparing themselves to each other...

It was good to see Seth and Erin in a loving, stable, comfortable place after so many years together. The love and passion is still there, but it's different. It was both funny and touching to watch them talk to their daughters and let them know that they're each loved equally, even if it doesn't seem that way to them.

A sweet way to end the series.

Beautiful ending to an enchanting book. And masterful storyline, even more because there are so many books out there relying on disturbing issues and complex tortured characters. A touching simple story about two ordinary people and their road through life, their love, marriage, family - the most simple things usually are the most beautiful ones.

Absolutely loved this part. So refreshing reading an epic love some years down the road, that things aren't always green. I'm so in love with Seth's personality and Erin complements him so much. And their grown daughters! And how protective he is of them ... great father figure. 5 * all the way

2021 Thoughts:
I still really like Seth's character, but the "I refuse to allow boys to look at my daughter" routine is tired.

2014 Thoughts:
Seth. GAH. I love this character.
