I'm interested in the way literature can help us explore aspects of the human condition - particularly suffering, sex, love, faith, and redemption. My favourite stories are those in which a character takes a journey, either a physical journey to a new and exciting place, or a personal journey in which he or she learns something about himself/herself.
I'm also interested in how aesthetic elements such as art, architecture, food, drink, and music can be used to tell a story or to illuminate the traits of a particular character. In my writing, I combine all of these elements with the themes of redemption, forgiveness, and the transformative power of goodness.

I am an Emmy Rossum Fan and I happened to encounter a fan-made image of her starring as Julia Mitchell. So I went crazy curious searching for the story of Gabriel Series by Sylvain Reynard. I read some reviews and some would compare Gabriel Emerson to Christian Grey. Well, they both had issues in life and both had showed great love and importance to Julia and Ana. But now, I am biased to Gabriel Series because the story is intelligently written and does not focus on the explicit sex of the characters but rather on their powerful love inspired of Dante and Beatrice's love story. Professor Emerson and Julianne Mitchell are now two of my favorite characters and fingers crossed for Emmy Rossum and David Gandy for the lead roles in case of a movie adaptation. credits to juliaxgabriel.tumblr.com
I LOVE THIS BOOK!!! It's absolutely amazing. Nothing I've read before. The story stands alone on its own. I must say that my standard of books is now higher because of this series. I simply loved it!! IT doesn't only have an amazing love story between Gabriel and Julianne, but also a hell lot of amazing history, literature references, and amazing setting. RECOMMEND THIS BOOK FOR EVERYONE. IT is not the typical love story. Better than anything I've read before.
I have not reviewed the books of this series, will be doing it soon. I liked the first part of series, was curious about the next one and read it with zeal but by the third one , I got a bit bored. This wasn't my cup of tea.
Its also strange because sincerely I did like the first part !!!It was worth the money.
There were several good and interesting passages through the series but they were far and few in comparison to the books length.
Also, they were full of red flags or pet peeves:
* Asshole, jerk and douchebag hero. * Recovered Addict. * Smoker. * Lier. * Cheating. * Dead child * Ex- girlfriend/baby mama that he didn't love but felt something... And had lots of sex... For years.. Simply Ridiculous! * Man-whore that fucks lots of women * Hero had sex with other women after met heroine. * Description of sex with OW: even in a nightmare is disgusting. * Photographs of him fucking other women on his bedroom... WTF!!! * Doormat heroine. * Tasteless, endless and boring references or just lots of references about musics, books, movies, poems, people and other things. * Pretentious writing. * Religion or God talk. * Delirium or visions. * Philosophical conversation. * Dragging and avoidance of a subject to cause suspense but causing only boringness. * A sexual predator who finds love and reforms himself??! All in name of forgiveness and mercy!?? Not buying.
Where, where in hell had I been when I liked this series years ago???? How???? I can't understand why. Honestly. I was a idiot is the only explanation.
I absolutely fell in LOVE with this Trilogy, Gabriel and Julianne. What an incredible story. Truly one of the most romantic, loving and selfless stories I've ever read. I loved watching individual characters develop and morph. I also loved that the author injected a bit of Dante history in there and forced us, the readers,to look up what the paintings and what some famous names really meant (Thomas Aquinas, Virgil, Heloise and Abelard, Botticelli, Henry Holiday and etc). Needless to say, I thoroughly enjoyed this trilogy and will read it over and over again. Thank you SR for an incredible experience! I wish there was an Epilogue or a Novella that would delve more into the future. Hope the author will take it under consideration.
I read the series because I got curious when I saw snippets in Passion Flix. The chemistry between Gabriel and Julia is quite intense. However, there were times in the book that Julia's character can be annoying due to the vacillating meekness and bursts of confidence that she shows. It's only in the 3rd book that Julia is confident enough to match up with Gabriel's intensity. Gabriel and Julia are both trying to prove themselves worthy of each other's love. Overall, I liked the series. It showed the natural progression of their relationship and how they overcame their past. My favorite line from the book is Gabriel saying to Julia - "I love you far too much, I'm sure. I don't know how to love you any other way."
So... I finished the entire series... I’m not sure why.... I have this need to finish what I start but this was torturous.... I think I hoped it would get better and it just got worse.... clearly people like this series.... personally I’m not a fan of the literary references.... also the medical ‘advice’ that’s completely false.......... huge turn off for me.. but that’s me.... and I wouldn’t put this under erotica.... romance but not erotic romance in any way, shape or form! The writing is very distracting as well...... things would happen and I would be like ‘wait... when did that happen?’ Not for me... clearly for others but a waste of money for me.
I got stuck in the books after i saw the first movie. Its a really nice story about a beautiful couple and i really liked the first and second book; The backstory, the ups and downs before everything falls to place, the heartbreaks and reunions, the enemies and the friends. But sometimes it got a little bit to much and too unreal. And the storyline in the later chapters maybe a little bit too obvious. Not want to spoil the end but as i'm not so found of the whole package about happily ever after which always seems to include kids, maybe thats why i didnt fancy the last book so much! Overall a nice romantic experience and it really saved me when i was sick for a whole week.

I adore them! Amazing and addictive books! Thank you Sylvain Reynard for creating such a wonderful escape from reality for us! I have read the trilogy a couple of times and I remembered the very first time when I couldn't stop reading page after page. In my country/ Bulgaria/ only Gabriel's trilogy is translated. Such a shame !!! My English is not very good, but I want and need to read more thing from Sylvain Reynard :) 5 stars are not enough!
Well I read these a while ago. Then the other day I found out it had been made into a movie. After watching it.......is it possible to be jealous of a character that isn't real???? Well I am so jealous of Julia the way that Gabriel looks at her like she the only person on this earth. I wish a man as hot as him would look at me like that. The movies were just as amazing as the books. Might even re read xx
I remember the first time I read these books. It was on the cusp of the Fifty Shades takeover and authors were pushing out masterpieces. However THESE books just... speak to you on a different level. It's not overly sexual, but it is sensuous and stimulating. I will forever love these books. I revisit them when I want writing with heart, love, angst, history, and excitement. 😌👏🏾
was a bit disappointed, it wasn't what i was hoping for. i was thinking i was gonna dig into a nice contemporary romance between student and professor as per all the wonderful reviews, instead i got a big history lesson on dante, via the heaping helping of sophisticated literature and italian language lesson
Such a deep and all consuming story of love. So many life changes for so many people but Gabriel and Julianne grew and with the love from one another. This is one of those series of wisdom and grace that makes this series stand alone at the top. What wonderful gift it was.
I loved this book:) I loved reading about love and academia and how the two can exist . How the characters faith grew as their relationship grew. It was a very good book!
I found this trilogy better than Fifty Shades of Grey. I was riveted from the start. The construction of all these characters tres was so well done. A beautiful romantic read.
