An introductory level book about astronomy that's formatted like a guide book for tourists. I found this little book in kids section of a book bazaar, it is easy enough for kids to read. It's a good quick read, I read it during travels and downtime.

If you've never read astronomy related books before but are interested in astronomy, this book has enough basic information to start, make you wonder, do your own little research, and eventually want to read more advanced astronomy books.

Barron's Pocket Factbook on Astronomy was a fun, quick read that covers the basics of space, including the planets, structure of the universe, how far we've come in exploring it and more. While a bit outdated (it was published in 2006), it was a great refresher for me. This book is ideal for someone interested in learning more about space without wanting to delve into the more complicated subjects of physics or cosmology.

It's pretty good as an introduction but for those who want deeper explanations about stars, there are probably books better suited to that purpose. It gives introductions into what stars are, galaxies, nebulae, asteroids, comets etc., everything that is found in space. Good as an introduction & a way to kill some free time in an afternoon.

good for a reader new to astronomy. This is very introductory, and not a good choice for someone who has studied astronomy before
