This is a book about promises to be kept in order to lead a righteous life based upon God's principles as set forth in the Bible, and it is written from a Christian's perspective. Being Jewish, I nevertheless was able to embrace the ideas put forth in 101 Promises. The book reminded me that Judaism and Christianity have so much in common philosophically. I enjoyed the author's stories that accompanied each promise and found them to be poignant, sometimes humorous, and always thought-provoking. Although I finished reading 101 Promises, I predict that I will be referring to it frequently to remind myself about the promises that I need to keep to myself, to my family, to my friends, and to God.
I probably read it too fast, but I thought the "promises" were more like bits of advice. If someone took them one day at a time, maybe they would be more impressive and meaningful.
