My three mafioso men believed in a betrayal I never committed, leading them to make the choice to throw me out like trash. They have no idea they served me to their enemies on a silver platter, and ultimately murdered the woman they once cherished.
All I'd ever done wrong was love them with everything I had.
After five long years, I'd fought my way out of hell, turned myself into someone my men never could have known I could become, and built an empire to tear the evil world apart piece by piece. Marcus, Zayne and Declan will soon learn what they put me through. I can only hope they are ready to watch the world burn with me. If not, they may get burned themselves.
Authors This is a reverse haram dark romance, and ends on a cliffhanger. All three books in this series are fast paced and plot heavy. The series is connected and needs to be read in order. Please consider the listed trigger warnings within the book, your mental health matters!
DNF @ 79%. The story to this point is fine and has potential, but this is an unrefined draft that would benefit from a line edit at the very least. I was able to ignore the grammar and syntax issues for the first half, but at around the 50% mark, the errors were happening often enough that it became a chore to read. Still giving it 2-stars because I probably would have at least finished the book if not for that.
I will say that I like Lilith’s relationship with Ezekiel, and I wish we got to see it develop. I think the other relationships at this point still feel a little cheap, and like any forgiveness or tolerance wasn’t really earned, but that may just be me projecting.
Tagging for spoilers because I want to address the daughter plot. This came out of absolutely nowhere. We don’t learn she has a daughter that was taken from her immediately after giving birth until like 60% of the way through the book, even though that’s been her whole motivation for starting the Shadow Syndicate. Forget the fact that, up to this point, her inner monologue has been telling us that her motivation was to right the wrongs that were done to her and her sister. Did Lilith know she had a daughter before the 60% mark? This felt like the author was pantsing character history, which is a dangerous game, and ultimately led to the payoff falling way flat.

Okay, so first wow! That was a lot to unpack in one book. Most importantly mind the TW/CW. This is a dark book in that the FMC gets SA a few times in this, and it is hard to read even for someone for whom this is not a trig.
The great things: I loved the storyline, absolutely brilliant story, and am loving the characters, particularly Ezekial. There is a cliffy and it's a doozer, but that's not a bad thing.
The improvements: There needs to be someone go through the book and fix the spelling and grammar (loads of woman instead of women, there instead of they're, etc), I would have loved to have more back story and world building on how the myth of the Reaper came about, seeing her as that Reaper character and why the other crime syndicates see the Shadow Organisation as so menacing/concerning. I also, honestly, found it slightly difficult to believe in the scenes of the first two meetings with Reaper and Ez and the 3 Cosa Nostra King's, they are supposed to be hard as$ed crime bosses, all of them, and they all just break down, talk feelings and bicker. Bit weird honestly.
BUT if these few improvements could be made it would take the book from a 3.5/4 * to a 5* read as the storyline is fab.
I am going to download the next book, I want to read it to find out what happens next.
Contemporary reverse harem novel where the characters are supposed to be leaders of various criminal organizations. The author would have benefited from simply making up names of these mobs, but has named them la cosa Nostra, la eMe, bratva etc. making the portrayal laughable. Almost every page contains an error in spelling, punctuation or grammar. It's very Distracting and irritating. Then, the plot is so grossly cruel and unbelievable that I'm shocked even finished it. I guess I really wanted to see the bad guys get comeuppance, but no, of course the first book ends with her getting kidnapped and sexually assaulted AGAIN. This kind of gratuitous horror is really unnecessary.
I liked the premise, and I didn't struggle to finish, but the story could be better fleshed out. The MCs feel a bit juvenile - not the bad@sses you would expect them to be. I think Ezekiel is the only exception. So much that happens could have been avoided if they acted like Mafiosos instead of green vigilantes. That being said, I liked Lilith, I loved Ezekiel, and I was interested enough in the story to want to finish. I loved the whole Syndicate compound idea. I'll likely continue the series to see how it goes.
For someone who was thrown out with nothing and trafficked like she was, she sure was ok with the whole thing like it never affected her. Also pretty much forgiving the men who caused it? Instant dnf. Author really needs to edit as well. You’d think they would know the difference between your/you’re and there/their/they’re. It was embarrassing to read.
The entire series is great, this one is slower going to get into the plot but it’s packed full of suspense and drama. Lilith had a long journey to heal over four years but once her men came along she was able to breath easier. I loved all the guys but Mishka and Declan were my favorites, with Ezzy right behind them.
This was a brilliant first installment, full of angst, heartbreak, horror, secrets, twists, and some amazing spice. I adore Lilith and even her guys despite what they did to her.
This has an interesting storyline I couldn't put it down. I do think it could do with some proof reading as there are quite a few errors within the book but overall still good.
DNF at 87% story got very boring after all that action. Letting in the 3 exs without hardly any apologies, the heavy focus on her being 'tossed out like trash'. This was a super heavy read but also felt lacking in the story. Just a lot to unpack there that felt missing.
Once I started reading it, I couldn't put it down. Great characters and great plot. My only issue is the use of "woman" repeatedly when it should have been "women". Definitely worth reading. Can't wait to start the next book.
it was bland .. i personally found the writing stilted and it never seemed to flow naturally …. plus I never connected to any of the characters as I found them ( for want of a better word) dull and they all seemed to have the same personality…
