After spending my life as a military brat, I craved stability. As an adult, I buried my roots deep and refused to budge. No matter what storms came my way, I refused to blow away. I loved my life. I loved my job. I loved my family. And yet, I would have given it all up for one man.

After spending half my life in the Marines, it was desk duty or retirement. My best friend, and old Sergeant, convinced me to retire and promised to help me with the transition. I could keep building houses, and learn to be a civy again. All under his watchful eye.

Enroute to his place in Miami, I was stranded in an airport overnight.

I thought I was too old to find love, to have a family. And then my eyes landed on her. The time flew by as we explored the airport together, talking and laughing. We flew out separately, with promises to reconnect on the other side. It came sooner than planned.

When I ran into her at her father's house. I was mostly sure he would be okay with me dating his only daughter. I just had to convince her of that fact.

OK Ladies this is an age gap & He is her father’s best friend


Jason has been helping rebuild communities in Iraq, Afghanistan, and other places that were hit the hardest from war and terrorism, for the better part of the last 20 plus years.
But when he got shot in the leg and his superiors basically told him he was either going to be behind a desk for the rest of his military career or he could get an Honorable discharge. Well dang, Jason couldn’t see himself sitting behind the desk for the rest of his life so he took the discharge

Angie, her dad had been lonely since he was forced to leave the military to raise her. He lost his wife, the love of his life, and the career he loved all at once. Marcus loved being in the infantry. He still misses his military buddies.

When she was on her way home from her annual vacation with her college buddies she gets Delayed in Las Vegas due to a storm in Florida she meets a spectacular older man,
Later she found out that they were on the same flight, But come the light of day of course they could not be on the same flight once again, They separated and made a promise to call each other that evening to see if they could get together for dinner or something…….. Little did she know when she showed up to her father’s house that he was the man her father has been talking about for the longest

So, I bet you were just like me thinking that this book was just going to be about the three main characters the father the friend and the daughter well guess what there was a lot of moving parts in this book there were some funny parts there was some sad parts and there were some Hilarious parts and a little bit more you’re going to have to read this one to figure out the rest
I cannot wait to read the next installment in this series with the epilog that the author left us with- Oh, and Lorde have mercy Kyle and Rob’s pack

Age gap and fathers best friend
Angie and Jason clicked pretty quickly. It seemed genuine and flowed naturally
Filled with family and friends, humor, angst, and lots of feelings.
There were a few twists and turns and they both faced some drama, but in the end they got their HEA.
Overall, I thought it was a sweet read.

I love this series. Sweet but steamy novels. Angela "Angie" Carson never had the desire to live anywhere but Florida. Home is where her father and cousins were. Angie was a second grade teacher. She took a quick getaway with her friends to Las Vegas. Her flight was delayed due to a hurricane headed straight for her destination. Angie would not be getting home tonight as she hoped. While at the airport, Angie met another stranded traveler.

Jason was also headed to Miami. Spending time with Angie was right up his alley. He was headed to stay with a friend from the Marine Corps to figure out his next steps after retiring. He was a little out of sorts and did not know what to do with himself after being in a regimented environment for so long. Angie understood because her Dad has retired from the military. They moved around a lot when she was young. Hence, the reason she did not want to move anywhere. These two spend a great night getting to know each other and hoping to get in contact once they finally reached their destination.

Imagine their surprised when Jace shows up at Angie's father's house. Jason, Jace, is the friend that was staying with her dad. Angie now has to stay there as well due to storm damage to her house. Jace is not going to let Angie go just because he is friends with Angie's dad. Can he convince Angie that her dad will be okay with their relationship? Angie is not convinced easily. Her dad seems to be happy having Jace around and she does not want to take that away from him.

Angie still has a life. A life that does not sit well with Jace when her hears about her being out with other guys. Though they are just friends, it hits Jace hard when he realizes that he might lose her. Then Angie's ex-boyfriend comes into town. He is trying hard to get back the life he had with Angie before he left. Will Jace leave the door open for someone else to walk in? This book will keep readers on their toes. Very unpredictable with surprises around every corner. To be or not to be, indeed.

Delayed by TJ Lee is a standalone book from the To Be or Not to Be Series. In this book, we meet Angie, a school teacher, who in in Las Vegas visiting her college friends. She is heading back home to Florida when she gets delayed at the airport after an impending hurricane. While waiting for the her rescheduled flight, she meets a handsome older man named Jason. Despite their age difference, the sparks fly and they promise to keep in touch. When an unexpected twist brings them back together, starting a relationship becomes more complicated than they ever realized.

This is a short and easy read that is filled with many different characters that we will hopefully see in future books. It is a sweet age gap romance that has some unexpected twists and is perfect for an afternoon escape! I definitely will look for more from this series!
