A revealing view of life in a metropolitan obstetrics ward presents stories of the doctors, nurses, hospital staff, and patients who labor in, and pass through, a big-city maternity ward
Author Susan Stanley is a newspaper reporter who had access to a busy maternity unit at a large teaching hospital in Oregon. Contains a wide variety of individual stories of both the caregivers and the patients. Parts of the book were touching and compelling; other parts were dry. Overall, an interesting book for those interested in true life medical care.
