3.5 stars i think smut is cool but not every chapter cool like i want to see the story progress, not mindless smutty filler i want to see them be IN LOVE and actually fall for each other, not just then being like “oh wow, you’re so handsome, i like you” it all feels so empty like i need substance for my sustenance the art is pretty tho!
The art is absolutely beautiful and the reason I picked the series up in the first place. But, honestly? It's one of my favorite stories for so much more than that.
It's full of spicy moments, which - don't get me wrong I do love those - aren't why I rate it so high. Instead, it's how this gentle paced slice of life story lets us watch a couple come together and just be good to each other that has my heart all full of warmth while I read it.
There's a little drama, and one of the boy's backstories is sad. But it's just enough to pull at your heart strings without taking you on an emotional roller coaster. Sometimes I just want to feel good, and this entire series did that for me better than any has before.
I've heard of people talking about comfort series that they come back to when they're not feeling well or don't know what to read, and I get it now. I genuinely love Sketch so much that I don't even want to recommend it, so I can keep it all to myself... I hope we get physical copies released in English, but still gonna get my hands on the Korean special edition if it's the last thing I do! haha
I also really like that the top is the younger shyer partner, while the bottom is older and a bit more grounded. Break those stereotypes, guys! It's so cute.
All of that being said, there is a ton of sex. So, absolutely nsfw! Wholesome, but also very naughty.
This has really, really pretty art, but not enough plot to support the smut, which is overwhelming. The story has over 100 chapters, but I'd be hard pressed to tell you much of anything that actually happens? There's some past trauma that carries the story for about 20 episodes, but after that... an ex exists? One of the MCs works so hard he makes himself sick, and the other one can't decide if he wants to be a model or not? Jealousy abounds in a mostly controlled and cute way. That's kind of it.
Overall, this is just very gently paced. I stuck around because the art is so pretty and I was hoping something more would come out of the "sketch" premise/title. It did eventually come together at the end, just... less than I was expecting.
Didn’t finish this one, I stopped after reading a bit of Season 2. I picked it up since so many people said it was a beautiful deep story with characters that go through some good development, but i’m genuinely not seeing any depth to the story other than them finding each other attractive and wanting to sleep with each other… Which was like every 2-3 episodes. It wasn’t emotional at all and I would’ve liked to see them have a real reason to like each other apart from that. The characters were sweet tho and the art was soso pretty! Also, there wasn’t much sketching loll.
Yikyung me despierta tanta ternura. Y Joobin: Uff, mi angelito 😳 Aún quedan lloreras y sonrisas lelas para rato 🥰
The story is okay but the art... The art is gorgeous. I rather like how all the characters, especially our main characters, are normal-sized. No double-door fridges here, IYKYK. And we love a younger, shy top
I don’t think you realise how much I absolutely loved this book. I read it in 2 days, couldn’t put it down. This must be one of the (if not actually THE) greenest flag BL manhwas I’ve ever read. Yikyung and Joobin will forever hold a special place in my heart <33
Art was amazing, story progression was good actually but they did “resolve” their problems fairly early on. Now each chapter just feels like side stories. It’s been a struggle trying to finish Season 2 because of it.
noting this entry in my shelf to mean 103 chapters + 32 side stories.
the art was gorgeous and i loved getting to know joobin, who had more of a past than yikyung (more of a generic green flag) and the way they communicate so well.
