I’ve really bonded with these characters and love every single one of them and what their stories contributed to the series! I was looking forward to Junie and Blume’s story especially after book 3 really gave us a glimpse into their chemistry.

These Colemen brothers exude BDE and despite being equal parts holy and hood, Junie makes sure his BDE is ever present! From their first meeting, Junie and Blume had undeniable attraction and I enjoyed the back and forth banter between the two of them. The flirting was sexy and added a whole vibe to the story!

After Blume’s apartment fell through, Junie opens his heart and his home so that Blume has a safe place to lay her head. Now that they’re living under the same roof, they can’t fight the intense chemistry that has been building all this time. Junie and Blume’s love story had soooooooo much potential and I’m so disappointed with several aspects of the story.

Junie was a God fearing man and the trigger warning mentions that the book was heavily saturated with religion. I didn’t mind this at all and it was weaved nicely into the story. What I did find issue with was him being celibate and not wanting to fornicate due to his relationship with God but was ok with committing murder and running a drug operation with his brothers. To me sex was the LEAST issue that compromised his relationship with God.

Next was Blume’s sexual assault. I feel like it was glossed over. For something that traumatic to happen and she just goes on about her life with no therapy, no healing, no REAL conversation about what happened was a missed opportunity. It would’ve been the perfect segway to tap deeper into her building relationship with God. Instead, it felt like the scene was added for dramatic effect with no real purpose to the storyline.

And while we are on the topic of things being added with no real purpose, why the scene with Gina? And ole boy at the restaurant that Blume knew from her past. What was their history? These both seemed very random especially when we got no background on Gina and Junie and Blume didn’t even bring up the interaction to Junie.

The engagement, wedding, honeymoon, baby shower and baby all felt extremely rushed. All of these events were essentially summarized and didn’t allow us to truly connect with the life altering events I’d come to love from Blume and Junie. Including their vows, or a scene from their honeymoon or a sentimental gift at the shower would’ve made a world of difference.

Lastly Blume presented as a boss a$$ chick that was doing the damn thing in the previous book with her own business but we lost that Blume in this book. I wanted to see her thriving after her move and grow even further. But instead she seemed dependent on Junie and complacent outside of the few times she went apartment hunting.

For this to potentially be the last book in the series I expected it to end with a bang but it missed the mark and didn’t match the success of the other Breadcrumbs books. I’m still a fan and will read more in the future but this wasn’t it for me.

Welp that’s my $.02 nobody asked for.

Come on through holy hood! 😂 I knew I would love Junie, and you did not disappoint! He was a good man, private, cared for his family, and cursed a lil bit. But his spiritual walk was on point! He did not play about his faith or his feelings about Christ, and the way he chose to lead his life.

That damn Blume was so stubborn, and hardheaded! Ughhh..... 😡 By continuing to deny her feelings for Junie, she put herself in a situation that would change her forever! 💔 Junie was giving her all the signs, but she just wouldn't or couldn't believe that he wanted her like that. Although she really liked him, she felt they were too different for a relationship to work.

Junie! I knew that he was bout that life, and left it behind, but damn! I was not expecting Junie to be savage wit it like that! 👀🤯 Well, I should have expected that, as he was really feeling Blume. He was just a bit conflicted about the way she was living her life. Would she be willing to learn the word, go to church and make some adjustments so they could meet in the middle? Their chemistry was strong, but he refused to live in sin, and hoped she got with the program.

The gentle push that Junie gave Blume helped lead them both to a road of happiness. I enjoyed how he was patient with her as she began her walk and taught her along the way. Then you go and play with my emotions ma'am! But won't he, do it? 🙏🏾 I loved these two. ❤️

Now, I know you said this is it, but uhhmm, imma need a recap, a follow-up or something. How are things when Junie and Blume get home from the hospital? What does Jill decide to do about her predicament? Do we meet Plum's man? We'll give you some time, they'll be talking again! 😂
Good job! 👍👍👍

Amen you all

The story took readers on quite a journey. Junie had so much going on with his spiritual and secular sides. His relationship with Blume had layers of sometimes stifling behavior that kept me second-guessing his actions. I know the author said a man of faith was still human, and was flawed at times. Flawed was true, but his heart and actions matched his words. The breadcrumbs spread throughout this one showed a synergy within this couple's sole ties. In the end, you will see the point within each action and subsequent reaction. 4.75 stars.

Junie & Blume

I just love all the Coleman brothers, but Junie is a different type of man. Keys the crazy thing is you have people out here living just like Junie. Junie was everything that Blume needed and more. I loved how he loved on Blume and how she was more then willing to change for him. I’m so glad that JuJu filled their hearts with more love then they already had. Can’t wait to see what all the couples up to in the future.

Holy & Hood

Junie Coalman is the perfect combination for most women. He’s able to quote scriptures and apply them to his life daily but also protect those he loves by any means necessary. I also enjoyed his exclusivity, what happened in his personal life remained his and his partner’s business. The path taken by he and Blume to make their relationship evolve into something great was an entertaining ride. *Spoiler-spill: But the best part of their story was at the conclusion being family over everything and personal salvation.

BLUME AND JUNIE ❤

This was the story i was waiting for. There was no denying Blume and Junie's attraction to each other, it was up to them to make things official. I loved how Junie was very spiritual and holy but also had a hood side to him. Hood Junie came out when necessary especially for Blume. Although Blume was sure of her feelings for Junie it was her willingness to learn about and accept The Lord for herself as well as for Junie. I was definitely rooting for their union and the blessing they received in little JuJu. I wish there was more to their story at the end but who knows the Breadcrumbs Crew just might return. Overall, great series.

Junie & Blume (Coalman Brothers)

Junie was complicated and uncompromising where it came to his faith. I felt like he railroaded Blume some bit. Controlling what she wore and how they married.

“I’m wild, Ju. I’m ghetto. I’m flawed and a bit damaged. I cuss and I drink. I’m not perfect and my walk with Jesus is infantile. You sure you want that kind of wife?”

At the end of the day, they knew who and what they wanted and wasted no time.

A true power couple.

Well, it's bittersweet to be at the finale of the Coalman Brothers. I was expecting more stories from the other brothers. Hopefully, they will make an appearance in a future work of art. However, I am glad to finally read Junie and Blume's story because the sexual tension has been present for a while. I know Junie's reserve was depleting slowly each time he was in Blume's presence. He was the helping hand Blume needed when she needed a place to lay her head though. That was the move he and her needed so they could grow closer as a couple. He was there for Blume through it all. It was disheartening to read about the assault. She worked through healing from that tragedy. Junie was there to help put the pieces of her back together. Junie was the man for Blume all along. They were similar in some ways and opposite in others. Junie encouraged Blume to give her life to Christ. They became a power couple in every sense of the word. This book will have you on an emotional rollercoaster with everything that happens. The birth of baby JuJu will bring tears to your eyes. You will want to read this finale, especially the church scene it will make it worth the read alone.

Locked and loaded for the Lord

I enjoyed the last book in the Breadcrumbs series . June really surprised me in many ways, but he definitely was hood and holy! I loved how he wanted more for Blume. Blume while not completely on the same page as June definitely was open to loving him and learning to love and accept The Lord on her terms . I wished for a bit more about them and the Breadcrumbs crew at the end. But I absolutely enjoyed the story.

All about Junie and Blume

Such a well written beautiful love story. Ashantay does it again. The Coalman brothers can sweep any women off their feet. But Junie cuts the cake. So happy with this book and all the positivity it’s filled with. Despite the trigger warnings it was well written. I was able to ease into this book and enjoy all the good things to come,

Breadcrumbs 4

I enjoyed reading Junie and Blume's story. They were so cute together. I hate that Blume assumed she wasn't good enough for Junie just because she had a different walk with God than he did but I loved how he reassured her and took care of her. This was a good book and I can't wait to see what comes next from this crew.

Junie + Blume... Amen!

Ok, this one, I really enjoyed! Even though the story was all over the place and I don't think enough attention was given to certain situations, I love that Junie essentially led his family to Christ. Junie had flaws, but we all do. Now I'm excited to see where the story goes.

JUNIE! JUNIE! JUNIE!!!! I absolutely loved all the books in this series but book 4 had my heart in a chokehold and wouldn’t let go! Junie and his brother Diesel is the epitome of what a real man should be. I wish i could go right in walmart and buy me one of them. This book brought a new meaning to “Rip me out the plastic” for me. Junie Coalman does it for me!

The end

Blume knew she wanted Junie from the beginning, so I was disappointed that she even wasted time meeting up with an ex. Instead of just talking & getting clarity, they both played & we see what happened.
I loved that Junie wanted to live right & knew they needed to get married. It wasn't for the wrong reasons like some may think. They both really did love each other. You could tell he was gonna be a great husband & she was gonna follow him wherever he led her.

Hungry for more!!!!

This series has me thirsty for more.…. literally scratching my neck like Dave Chapelle wanting more! This series is one that, quite frankly, I would’ve loved to continue! Don't cheat yourself; treat yourself and grave book one, a comfy blanket, and some wine, and get into it!

When You Understand Just Who You Belong Too!

Ashantay, I know this journey with these characters has been a road for you. I enjoyed your pen. Being this is the first read of yours, I'm going to dive into your other reads. I really commend you for touching subjects that need to be looked at.
Thank you for showing positive black men that want a family. That have no problem being open and vulnerable. Nor do they care about loving their mates outloud.🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗

Holy And Hood!!

I love Junie. He a private guy like Meech said he was feeling Blume because if he didn't he would have got her a hotel room. They were both ignoring the obvious. I don't know what Blume was thinking going out with Dustin, was it making Junie jealous, or going out to for drinks, get some sec? The way Junie and Meech did Dustin like he was Jesus, then apologizing his actions. That is what he did for woman he loves. I kept thinking Blume was going to let Gina have it. She said that she was trying to get right for God. Surprisingly Junie was partially there with God and he was trying get Blume there. Do they could become one. With Blume at the service and she was crying, she was cleaning her soul. Blume wanted to call her girls and tell them Junie proposed and she said yes, but he wanted just himself and her to soak it up for the moment. Juju came early and Blume is thinking it was because she didn't get right with God before she gave birth? I love how the entire family turned their life over to God. This is my favorite couple in this series.

Whew Babeeee!!!!

Ok ok ok!!! This MAN here have me every feel possible! Let’s TALK about it! Oh and yeah, I’m definitely brother hopping - 🤣😜😝🤪!

Mr. June Colman is different from his brother, but still with the mess! Like it states he’s HOLY and HOOD - he is exactly that! The way this man allows the higher power to lead his life. This man is honest like no other. Don’t get me wrong, the Coalman brothers have no filter and keeps it 💯 but Junie just different with it. Like he started I’m still a working progress! While walking on this path he became celibate, stop listening to hip hop/R&B and only listen to gospel and reads his Bible faithfully! He just needed that Queen by his side. From the time he seen and met Blume he felt she was that one but before anything thing could really happen with them, she needed to be right with the higher power.

Blume, she firecracker and doesn’t hide it at all. My girl hands are for everyone - 🤣! But when she meets Junie, to her it was that love at first sight. With all the flirting they were doing, my girl never thought it would ever be them! Well when them plans of hers changed leaving her homeless after making a move back home, her friend ask a favor from Junie and that favor was can Blume moving with him. Oh did that plan pull them closer-indeed it did - 🥰!

Listen I can definitely say more, but then I’ll give the book away and that’s not my goal, however, do know the connect to them was through the word of the higher power. Babe, this connect was like no other and I was here for it! The trip to the holy land, the love they shared and the connect between the two was meant! All love connection does come from knowing someone for years or dating for long. A connection and love can come from the soul and spiritual - that odds exactly what happened between them!

Now let me go see what this other Outlaw Twin is about - Tristen!

a story of finding love and faith

General thought: it’s a story of finding love and faith
I enjoyed the read but do think I should’ve read the first 3 books in the series first to get a better understanding of the brothers and their relationships.

Book overview :
Bume gets forced to stay with Junie temporarily.
Junie is half hood and half holy . His current focus is to get right with God, having this gorgeous woman living in his house isn’t helping him and the attraction between the two of them only intensifies after Bume goes through a tragic incident.
Junie vows to be all she needs and desires, if she can pass the test.

Will she dedicate her life to Christ and live a holy life like he wants too?

Read the story to find out?

This book isn’t overly religious, I would still call this an urban romance with faith laced into it rather than a Christian story .

A solid read , make sure your ok with the trigger warnings before you embark on Junie and Bume’s story

I thought Black was my favorite, but he can move over because Junie is BAE. The cross over of the holy and hood was just right. Blume was a sweetheart who just needed to be poured into. Ju was slinging everything but the holy oil for a second lol. I love all the Coleman brothers, but Junie is my kind of man. Ju and Blume both were walking around in love but expecting each other to read each other’s minds.
Ju was just what Blume needed to bloom. He knew how to properly love, lead, protect, nurture and educate Blume. At first I was giving Ju the side eye because sir don’t force your religion on her lol. Blume wanted to make him happy so she had no problem growing and learning the word and taking a faith walk. I love how she didn’t lose herself in the process of love. Baby JuJu sealed the deal. Diamond is such an amazing friend, but what’s Denim problem lol?

unie: The Breadcrumbs Series Book Four by Ashantay Keys is a deeply thoughtful exploration of faith, love, and personal growth. Junie, a spiritually grounded man, is deliberate about finding a partner who shares his values and commitment. His relationship with Blume—who carries her own wounds and a guarded outlook on love—adds emotional complexity and tension to the story.

Keys writes with sensitivity and honesty, portraying Junie’s internal struggle between temptation and faith in a way that feels authentic and relatable. The book tackles themes of resilience, temptation, and the search for true connection without shying away from the messiness of real life.

Fans of spiritually-driven, character-rich narratives will find Junie a compelling and rewarding read that continues to build on the Breadcrumbs series with depth and heart.

Junie For Blume🥰

I loved that Junie and Blume fell in love, got married and then had little JuJu. You don’t read too many books that talks about the Bible enough like this book. I was all for Junie because he knew he was a work in progress sinner. He has a hood religion, meaning he walks with the lord, but he also will sacrifice a sucka like Blume ex-boyfriend. Junie didn’t hesitate to tell Blume that in order for them to live together and continue to do the gown folk that they had to be married. Junie knew what he wanted and it was Blume. He took her with her flaws and all and transformed her into someone who now believes in and walks with the lord.

The west side of heaven

Can we get an amen from the West Side of Heaven? I loved this story; it was a good read, and I love how it showcased that even as someone in the faith, nobody is perfect, and you can always fall short. Junie is clearly a descendant of Peter, though definitely hood but holy. He’s the perfect balance between hard and soft. I always believe he was the perfect match for Blume because of how headstrong she was. I love how they blossomed and easily accepted they were for each other.
