The book, to be honest, does not satisfy my private taste of thriller and war.
The cover seems to predict a fully-combative plot which both sides engage actively. The truth, however, contains mostly civillians suffering the German attack. The story is intervally told, including unexpectedly less fighting plot than I suppose.

I would not recommend this book to war-story lovers.

A series of short accounts from WWII.

I found a few of the pieces interesting, but overall it didn't grab me.

Reading time around ninety minutes.
