A witty and stylish cocktail book, which also contains "drinking etiquette" tips. This isn't etiquette in the sense of what fork to use, its urprisingly practical advice on things like how to make guests feel comfortable, and how best to order at a bar. The recipes are the real star of the show however. I love how Chamberlain makes interesting and unique cocktails by teaching you how to make syrups and infuse common spirits rather than requiring you to own a lot of obscure bottles. She also makes suggestions for other common cocktails these syrups could work in if you have leftovers. And finally I love the index, not only can you look up recipes by ingredient but also by season, or occasion.
