The art work in the Grim series is just incredible, I have really enjoyed following the story for the art alone. This volume mostly re-introduces us to the characters we have been following in the other volumes through their (very tragic) backstories. I look forward to seeing where the rest of the story goes.

Backstories!!! For three of our main characters including our rockstar (whom has such a sad story). Really all the backstories are tragic (as expected) but the rockstar definitely hurts as someone who was saved from a fate similar to his it’s rough every time I read anything like it.
This series is reported to be wrapping up at issue #25 coming out in October. I believe that means there will be 7 trade paperback volumes.
And I’m here for all of them plus the single comic covers that are just gorgeous. My new rule is anything Flaviano (artist) or Stephanie Phillips (writer) touch is on my must read list.

This fourth volume of "Grim" does not cover much territory but is definitely more focused and engaging than the last. Anyone who enjoyed the first three volumes should definitely give this one a try. Expect more detail on the backstories of Eddie and Annabel, a fairly graphic exploration of the previous relationship between Jess' parents, a few minor revelations and a major plot twist.

It took until this volume for the series to live up to the promise of the first few issues (at least for me) and get interesting again.

I like the individual backstories, and how they're tying into the larger narrative. Unfortunately, the larger narrative isn't holding my attention at all, so I'm drawing the line here. As good as this one was, I still don't think I'm going to enjoy this going forward, so I'm done.

Fairly slow in terms of overall plot progression, but each issue here flashes back to give us context on how some of the characters lost their lives in the first place, as well as some info on Death and Lilah's relationship. The ending is a fun little cliffhanger though, and the artwork is absolutely phenomenal. Rico Renzi's colours really elevate the visuals to another level.

More character backstories while the main plot begins to coalesce in the background. Flaviano and Rico Renzi's art is just perfect. I'm really curious to see what happens in this. Plus Jess's parents had a messed up relationship.

I'm enjoying the backstories for each character but Death and Jessica's mom's story is real dumb. Spoilers ahead. Death loves her because she's adventurous in bed? That's pretty much all we learn. Time has entered the story but then I have to wait for the next issue. Damn it

It’s not bad and I feel like this series might just overstay its welcome. I was kinda looking for a wrap up here. I don’t think it should push by 5 volumes without a new arc.
