About the author

Yana Toboso (枢 やな Toboso Yana) is a female Japanese manga artist born in Warabi, Saitama Prefecture, Japan and currently resides in Yokohama. She is best known for Black Butler (黒執事 Kuroshitsuji), a popular shonen manga series.

She has also written yaoi under the pen name Yanao Rock (簗緒ろく).

Appearance
Yana Toboso draws herself as a devil with a black body and horns, a white head, and a pointed tail. She has never uploaded a picture of herself, so her actual appearance is unknown.

This was wonderful in every single way!

Honestly, this anthology felt like a love letter of sorts to a variety of TW characters, and was absolutely here for it! I was excited to see some of my personal faves have the spotlight and even enjoyed seeing some of my less favorite characters, where thanks to the chapter, it even made me view that character differently! (Looking at you Leona…LOL)

When it comes to favorite stories, it's hard to say! I definitely LOVED the Idia-centered one! I also loved the Idia and Azul 4koma about games! LOL! The arm wrestling chapter with Jack was surprisingly one of my favorites as well! Though considering he IS one of my faves, I shouldn't be surprised! LOL! Also the chapter with Azul and him trying to have the "influential power" was hilarious! However, the ending of the chapter was surprisingly heart-touching!

And not just that ending, but the "final" chapter of the volume was such a touching one! It honestly felt the perfect way to wrap up this volume, especially with how gorgeous the art was!

Overall, I deeply loved reading this anthology and will for sure reread it because it was so much fun! Definitely a recommended read for any TW fan!

Oh! I do want to also mention that even though it wasn't a "chapter," the colored pages at the beginning were AMAZING! I never expected we get a color page for each dorm! SO COOL!

Sehr witzige Zusammenstellung von Kurzcomis aus dem TWST-Universe.
Es kommen alle Häuser vor, allerdings liegt der Focus doch irgendwie sehr auf Octaville (nice), Savana Claw (nice) und Heartstabyl (nyeh). Und es gibt viel viel viel zu wenig Ignihyde, nämlich nur eine Story :/ aber trotzdem. Sehr schön gezeichnet. Es gibt mehrere schöne Farbbilder vorne dran, die super zum aufhängen wären, könnte man sie herausnehmen.

Quite a long time ago, I downloaded the Twisted Wonderland game, because well, it was a game based on Disney Villains, and the art looked stunning (I mean, it's by Yana Toboso, so what do you expect?) The art was amazing, and the story was really fun, but the game aspects were... confusing. There was a rhythm game part (which was fun enough) but also a battle part, and a study aspect that I didn't quite understand. And there was of course a gacha type aspect so they can get all that sweet money from you. I was very disappointed by it, and because I didn't really get the battle/study parts and they were necessary to continue the story, I eventually stopped and deleted the game.

When I saw this manga, I was super excited. I mean, the story I enjoyed, without the weird game aspects? That sounds amazing!
Unfortunately that was not what this was. If anything, this read like a doujin, a fanmade comic anthology. The stories are all by different artists, and they all look really good. But it's not one storyline, instead there are short stories focusing on random characters and silly slice-of-life things, that would be great for fans of this series, who know all the characters. For someone who only played the first part of the game and so mostly just know two characters... this was kinda hard to follow, in the sense that the personalities are more assumed than actually written, which makes for a very bland read for someone without any idea of these characters.
I'm very aware that this would be completely different for a fan of the characters, and I'm sure they would love them, but this is not a starting point for jumping into the franchise. I was lost at more than one point in the book, and it's just hard to get invested in a story when you never get more than a few pages with a character, and you never learn much about them.

This is 100% a manga aimed solely at fans of this game, and for them I'd definitely recommend it. The art is wonderful, there are some full c0lour pages that look amazing, the stories are short and varied, and a lot of the characters appear in at least one, but usually quite a few of the stories. (I'm not sure if all characters appear, because I'm not that familiar with the game...)

I was very disappointed that this wasn't a manga showing the story of the game, but hey, the title literally said anthology so I could have known. I was just excited by the idea of the manga and bought it straight away, which is on me. But for someone with very limited knowledge of Twisted Wonderland, this wasn't a very good read.

With a cover by the series creator Yana Toboso, this collection is jam-packed with a lot of wonderful stuff.

First off, there are nine full-color pin-up images. Some are very faithful to Toboso's style while others present interesting takes on the characters from the series so far.

Next up are sixteen (16) stories by as many manga creators. Running from eight to eighteen pages in length, the reader is given a wide sampling of vignettes set in the world of this series. While some of the characters we've seen a lot of before, others are ones we get to see a bit more spotlight on. And the artwork on these is very much in the same style as that of Toboso's previous volumes. As someone who very much enjoys the Twisted-Wonderland manga volumes so far, this was a fun outing.

This was so, so delightful! I was laughing at nearly every point and my cheeks were hurting from smiling so much. This is a must-read for fans of Twisted Wonderland. I do think that some of the stories are better suited for people familiar with twst rather than newcomers, but I do think that newcomers would at least get a laugh and become interested in the characters.

As a fan of Ace and Deuce I was glad to see that they were VERY present within the stories lol! Gotta love the duo XD

I've read this before in scanlations, but it's so exciting to see this anthology get an English release! Yesterday marked my first TWST anniversary since I started playing the game and the fact I have stuck with this game for over a year (without missing a day) and that I've been collecting its manga and merch this entire time has me feeling pretty emotional. This anthology volume is no different. It has nothing to do with the actual plot of the game, but it functions similarly to the character vignette stories within the game. Each short story (from different authors and their personal interpretations of what they are wanting to tell with the characters) focuses more as filler and character development and the exploration of different dynamics between characters. It's a lot of fun, very cute, and honestly, I'd say a necessary addition to anyone's Twisted Wonderland collection.

Since I'm not familiar with the lore or canon events of the series (both in anime, manga, and game formats), this honestly just felt like short one-shots of fanfiction in a visual format. I think the characters and setting are interesting enough, but it's a little difficult to have a chance to fall in love with any of these stories without having any context. I did think the art styles kept the characters looking consistent in each story and I very much enjoyed the personalities of each person. The concept of there being a college where people are sorted into houses like Hogwarts except each house is actually just a Disney villain is very fascinating. I probably won't continue reading from this anthology but I'm intrigued enough to at least try out the mobile game.

These short stories were all cute and fun, with absolutely stunning artwork throughout. However, as someone who has never played the mobile game, I had no clue who the characters were, and not many of the stories provided proper introductions for who the characters were. The characters who appeared multiple times within the anthology were, of course, easier to get to know, but it would have been nice for better introductions or even character profiles for the readers who haven't played the game. However, I did pick this up with the intention of it getting me excited to watch the anime, which it has, so it served its purpose.

Una raccolta di storie brevi che hanno come protagonisti gli studenti del Night Raven College. I personaggi di tutte le casate sono presenti, il problema è che in Italia abbiamo conosciuto due casate (di cui una ancora in corso di pubblicazione) e quindi a volte sono presenti personaggi non ancora presentati nella storia principale, ma è stata un'ottima anticipazione per le prossime saghe.

I used to like the mobile game but I just couldn't get into this and felt there'd be more of a plot or feeling of continuation. I think if it is going to be an anthology it would have been better if it was longer and possibly pure text. Maybe it just wasn't what I was expecting. This has been the first book I've read this year that I felt so-so on and am now deciding not to read the second volume. Perhaps I will try again sometime later from now.

Probably a better read for those whom have also played the game. Whereas another Twisted Wonderland manga series focuses on Riddle and the Heartslabyul, this anthology has stories with many different characters from multiple houses which could make the stories hard to follow.
