Toujours aussi prenant, horrifique, gothique, et magnifique bien que parfois un peu grotesque, c’est encore une réussite.

I love what they did with van Helsing character, yes, expose him as a freud he is and coward. So much of what is showed is happening only in characters' heads and it's becoming almost impossible to believe any of it is real and maybe all of them all mad, which is a perfect vibe for gothic story. Again, boys continue to be The Worst TM and the final transformation of Lucy left me speechless. I can't wait to read the rest of it.

Pfiou, ce manga prend une direction pour le moins inattendue. J'aime toujours autant, mais je ne m'attendais pas à ça ni à certaines scènes, graphiquement très marquantes. Mais quelle merveille ! Je veux vraiment plus de manga comme ça, que ce soit dans l'identité graphique, l'ambiance...

Tome clairement au dessus des autres ! C’est toujours aussi bien dessiné , l’intrigue se précise, on s’attache davantage à certains personnages et on en rencontre d’autres. C’est un véritable plaisir de lire ce manga.
C’est d’autant plus cool car les scènes bizarres sont moi s fréquentes que dans le 2.

no me entero de absolutamente nada de la historia, voy a ser sincera, pero no se me hace nada desagradable. es más, ya me apetece q salga el siguiente para ir desglosando poquito a poco lo de los anteriores tomos. lucy convertida en una araña gigante come hombres me parece lo MÁS. las ilustraciones son una pasada como siempre, aunque este se me ha hecho incluso más increíble

Gdybyście mieli wybrać jedną żyjącą piosenkarkę lub piosenkarza, który prawdopodobnie jest wampirem, kto by to był? No bo słuchajcie - Lestat u Anne Rice zostal piosenkarzem, prawda? A w mandze #DRCL (tom 3, współpraca reklamowa z @wydawnictwokotori @mangastore_pl ) Dracula wygląda jak Michael Jackson. Dwa przypadki to juz wskazówka! Dla mnie to oczywiste jasne - Hyde i Gackt są wampirami, bo grali w filmie "Moonchild", co był o tematyce wampirów, ha!

Dobra, a teraz serio, wracamy do recenzowanego tomiku. XIX wiek, szkoła w Wielkiej Brytanii. Po 2 tomach dziwnych wydarzeń główni bohaterowie, z których przynajmniej 3/4 ma niezdrową obsesję na punkcie swojego genderfluidowego przyjaciela stara siŵ go uratować przed śmiercią lub porwaniem przez Hrabiego Draculę - przedziwną istotę niosącą grozę. I wygląda na to, że nowy nauczyciel Van Hellsing ma wiedzę przekazywaną z pokolenia na pokolenie na temat Draculi, który cóż, na pewno zmienił postać, bo wcześniej to wyglądał typoqo jak Vlad, a teraz qedłuf wizji autora komiksu jest kopią Michaela Jacksona (przepraszam, ale bawi niezmiennie).

W 3 części komiks jest dla mnie tak samo enigmatyczny jak do tej pory i chociaż lubię weird fiction to nie wiem do końca czy fabuła ma ręce i nogi czy autor chce po prostu eksploatować klasyczne wątki z horrorów - od nawiązań do religii, przez gore i porywane dzieci, z których pita jest krew, kontaktowanie sie z duchami za pomocą planszy ouija. Ciekawym motywem jest co prawda postawienie dosyć mlodych bohaterów w kontrze do potężnego antagonisty. Ich podejście "dorośli nie ogarniaja, my też nie, ale coś trzeba z tym zrobić" jest ciekawe w tej przerażającej konwencji. Niemniej jednak nadal mam wrażenie, że fabuła jest tylko wymówką dla pięknych rysunków i wyrazistych, strzelistych kompozycji - artyzmu nie da się tu odmówić. Czy będę kontynuować serię czas pokaże, na razie na pewno zrobię sobie od niej przerwę i poczekam az uzbiera się trochę więcej tomów, z których może otrzymam więcej odpowiedzi.

Leider ist der dritte Teil in meinen Augen etwas schwächer, aber dennoch wirklich gut. Die Zeichnungen machen – wie auch schon in den anderen Büchern – einfach Spaß, und einige Panels haben sich mittlerweile regelrecht in meine Netzhaut eingebrannt. Ich habe teilweise ein paar Minuten gebraucht, um zu verstehen, wie genial genau diese Szenen sind. Besonders die Szene, in der das Kind getragen wurde und was dann passiert ist, hat mir richtig gut gefallen (bitte nicht falsch verstehen D: xD).
Zudem fand ich DAS Bild am Tisch richtig klasse, da ich das Geschehen erst nach und nach realisiert habe.

Ich kann es kaum erwarten, den nächsten Teil zu lesen. :D

Lo de Sakamoto no tiene nombre. Sus viñetas son hipnóticas, inhumanamente detallistas y de una creatividad sin límites. Y, por si fuera poco, su control de la narración y el simbolismo no queda opacado por su arte; es capaz de conjugar ambas disciplinas sin fisuras. Es difícil encontrar obras donde la trama y lo gráfico estén a la par en niveles tan altos. A pesar de ello, es importante señalar que esta obra no es para todos los estómagos, pues ese detallismo minucioso también se traslada a las escenas más cruentas.
Eso sí, no me acostumbro a que Drácula sea igual que Michael Jackson, tanto físicamente, como en movimientos (y a veces me da un poco de risa, aunque el contexto no sea precisamente gracioso). Tengo muchísima curiosidad por saber qué hay detrás de esa decisión y no he encontrado nada al respecto. Supongo que en algún momento se me hará la vista a esa imagen y ya está.
P.D.: La última página me ha recordado muchísimo a Berserk

The pacing of the story is not the greatest and there is so much misogyny from most of the main characters. However, I cannot rate this lower than 3,5 stars, because the illustrations are so gorgeous and so creepy, it's really impressive.

In this volume, the crew are battling to save Lucy/Luke from Dracula's influence with the "help" of Van Helsing. 


I'll admit that like most reviews, Dracula looking like Michael Jackson with wolves covered in jewels, throws it off a bit, lol. Also, the misogyny with Mina seems a bit ridiculous at times. In the story itself, there were times it was difficult to distinguish what's going on in the comic panels or what scene we're at or what scene had shifted. A lot of daydreaming and fantasy views. The illustrations themselves are stunning. Very whimsical with twinkling stars and surreal themes. I love how gothic romance fantasy is the theme with dashes of gore and body horror. The last picture towards the end of the book is incredible. 


I'm really enjoying this series. I find it to be creepily beautiful. Especially this volume. If you like Dracula or fantasy goth, dark academia with a bit of celestial magical pretty sailor moon feels, this is a good series. Mina is like a Wednesday Addams with her typewriter, the determination to solve the mystery, and her ouija board.

no, sorry. it looks like the story is slightly more coherent in this third volume, but i still don’t like it. i think the art has potential and some panels look really great, but i hate that Dracula looks just like Michael Jackson. And now the boys and Mina are members of a club to find Luke and fight against Dracula? And what is up with Mina and her obsession with wrestling … why does she always repeat “cacc” all the time?

i read the german version and she still says “cacc” - di i read that as a word or letter by letter? because as a word this sounds like the german word for “shit” which, oddly enough, describes what i think of this version of Dracula.

i preordered volume 4 before i started reading the first three because i had such high hopes, but i will cancel my order. i don’t want to keep reading this.

Time for Dracula's grand entrance into this story. In the original, this is where he breaks out the single wolf to break into Lucy's house. Instead, he steals a whole pack and has them pull his sleigh across the moonlit night before crashing through the rose window of a church while our main group is giving Lucy a blood transfusion.

Then Van Helsing explodes.

Yeah, I knew by now that this wasn't going to be a 100% accurate retelling, but it's gone so off the rails that it would be almost unrecognizable if it didn't hit the weirdly specific story points. I didn't expect Michael Jackson as Vampire Santa to ever be a thing.

Absolutely gorgeous like the previous two volumes. The story in this one is a little thin and is mostly images, but they are so striking it doesn't really matter.

There are several gut punching panels in this, particularly the one where the gang confronts the big D in a chapel, and the final panel of Lucy.
