Hirohiko Araki ( 荒木飛呂彦) is a Japanese manga artist. He left school before graduation from Miyagi University of Education.
He enjoys the baseball manga Kyojin No Hoshii (Star of the Giants); the video games Mario Kart and Bomberman; and likes Prince and other African-American singers, as well as jazz, rock, and rap.
Not gonna give this a specific percentage cuz it’s an artbook.
While a bit inconvenient to store and shelve, this oversized artbook is high quality and shows off Araki’s wonderful art perfectly. I recommend to all Jojo fans👍🏻
Literally went through this in one sitting in Barnes and Noble because the art is so gorgeous. Araki’s use of perspective and dynamic posing and color will never not impress me
Absolutely stunning art-of book. This is my first exposure to the world of JoJo, and I am intrigued to immerse myself further. The question is, which first- the manga or the anime?
Artwork aside, the designers of the book have done a fantastic job. It reads like a music ensemble, split into sections of the 'song'. Each spread is carefully thought out, some images collaged or repeated and dissected, others simple full spread bleeds that let the original pieces talk for themselves. Printed colours are gorgeous and vibrant, but also some subtle black-on-black detailing that just makes the pages pop even more. Beautifully crafted, and love the tracing paper tip-in pages at the front and back of the book- fun and tactile.
As far as art books go, this is a 5 star from me, and that's without the bias of a JoJo fan.
