When The Blood Has Dried GN

Rate this book
The stylized intensity of a Spaghetti Western meets the epic scale of high fantasy in When The Blood Has Dried! A tragic tale of loss and redemption that asks what's left behind long after the bodies are buried and the blood has dried.

Years ago, a stranger came to Carraig an Bhun, a little town on the edge of the Southern Territories. The locals eventually came to see this “blow-in,” Meabh of Cklonia, as one of their own. Now, Meabh has taken over as proprietor of The Lough Inn, finding a semblance of peace after a lifetime of adventuring…however, the proposed opening of a branch of the Adventurers’ Guild risks dragging her past into the present. What would the townsfolk do if they discovered their beloved barkeep was once part of a ruthless band of rogue sell-swords masquerading as noble heroes?

Really liking this, read 3 issues and not sure how many the complete volume is supposed to have but I’ll read the rest!
A former adventurer seems to have made a new life for herself as a barkeeper but a former adventurer she knew arrives in her little town to put up a new adventurer guild there and she’s not letting him destroy her life once more..
the art style was not my favourite but liked this twist on fantasy adventurer story

In every D&D world, every bar owner is a former adventurer. It's how you stop other dumbass adventurers from causing trouble at the inn, oh look here's the local high-level hero who retired to sling ale forever in case you got uppity. There's a bit of a different take here where our protagonist never really retired, they were left for dead and are living a new life in this tiny backwater town. The art is solid, there's some great shots when we get to the contest and any fighting but the book never really focuses on that stuff, it's more about the human drama between the characters and how much they've built.

Some solid fantasy. It's about a warrior who was left for dead and rebuilt her life in a small town eventually taking over the town bar. Now 5 years later, her past has come looking for her. You don't get all the answers you may be looking for during the course of this but I got enough that I want more.

9/10.
Cons:
Literally 0 magic. And no reason for there to be dwarves and elves if they don't differ from humans.
Hope it goes on, because in didn't develop any lore whatsoever.
Pros:
Great combat coreography and coloring.

Read the first issue. The storybwas okay but didn't grab me. The art wasn't for me and the colouring was hard to look at.
