Every once I a while I pick up one of these books to see if there is anything new n treatment options. Loved the layout and clear language Did find there were a fret new topical treatments and some new nutritional guidelines. Also ways to alleviate stress. Now to put all this into practice. All in all vey pleased with this book.
I highly recommend this book those who are newly diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. Just keep in mind that this was published in 2014 and many changes in medications have changed since then. Also the book states that there is an estimated 450,000 Americans with MS. That estimate was recently updated to nearly 1 million Americans have multiple sclerosis.
Sometimes, you just need to review things and make sure you are doing things right. The 5th edition doesn't seem that much different than the 3rd edition except for new drugs that are available for various symptoms. However, I am drug free and just monitoring diet.
My Betaseron nurse suggested this book as required reading for the newly diagnosed. SOOOOOO glad to have it! I just wish the doctor had told me about it when I was diagnosed. I've got it on Kindle and use it as a reference if something new pops up.
