This first of five(?) volumes of the Thomas Cleary set on [Living] Daoist Classic Literature, has been a mainstay for me to soak in and absorb for the past decade.
I have recently added in Volumes Two and Three.
The taoists know the basis of LIFE is Electro Magnetic Energy/Quantum Field.
For Millenia Taoists have been cultivating and refining the natural unity with all-that-is; leaning in further and further with their innate knowledge and innate capabilities, coming out to teach others privately. Then in 21st century, Cleary comes along and translates these works into the best reading versions I have found. They ARE my bible. Nothing compares to this Life-Guidance. After 48 years of daily meditation, I know of nothing that even comes to a close second.

I nearly rated the book a two for the translation. At times, the translation seems to shift into modern colloquial phrases. I had read two of the four books previously and I definitely prefer the prior translations.
