Today is goth-beauty Felicity Morgan's seventeenth birthday. She receives an invitation to a party at a famous city aquarium from someone she doesn't know. Against her better judgment, and her stepfather's advice, she decides to go to the party.
Roger Dennis is a handsome student lawyer - who also receives an invitation - and a cash bribe for attending.
Rachel Taylor is a gorgeous blond bombshell of a lap-dancer. She's going to the party to satisfy her innate curiosity.
Mary and Sherry are waif-like twins whose mother insists they go to the party.
And Geoff Brunswick the 3rd just wants a new place to get stoned.
All of these hapless strangers don't realize - yet- that they're never meant to leave the party alive.
The host of the party is the mysterious Zelda Hopkin - a wealthy middle-aged tragedy waiting to happen.
Zelda's ex-husband is The Python, a vicious serial killer incarcerated in a secure state asylum. His crimes were so heinous, it is said, he cut out his own tongue rather than speak of them. But just today he has escaped from his cell and is on the loose.
His destination? You guessed it... Zelda's Aquatic World...
WARNING: Kindred is an adult novel that is really not suitable for children under 15. It contains some coarse language, sexual references and gruesome violence. It's pretty much full on thrills right from page one. Reader discretion is advised.
This brand new version has been totally overhauled, based on invaluable reader feedback, and has now been professionally edited, especially for Amazon Kindle.
Some time ago I have read Rob's books about writing, and found them useful. So when he e-mailed me about his new book, I have bought it out of curiosity. This is a good one. It is creepy. In a way that a good thriller has to be. Anyway, it may be horror story, I'm not sure, because usually I don't read horror, so I'm not the one to judge. But what I'm sure of is that there are a lot of scary scenes, and Rob has the imagination to find out strange ways of killing. The plot is well worked out, and the story is fast paced, only so much description thrown in that moves the story forward. I give it four stars, because the killing was too much for my taste.
