Gavin Young and his twin sister Niko have been searching for The One for eight hundred years. In this small unassuming town, all the Normals seem nice enough, but Gavin can’t get one in particular out of his mind. Cass Darling's ammolite-colored eyes and powerful presence thoroughly bewitch him, despite her determination to keep him at arm's length. The bond between them grows stronger every time they are together.
But Niko knows Cass isn’t what she seems. Is Cass The One? If so, things just got a whole lot more complicated. Will Cass prove to be their savior …or will she be the death of them all?

I critiqued this book for the author and had so much fun doing it! When I was a teenager, I used to fantasize about stumbling accidentally into another world; a world of magic and adventure. A world where I went from being an invisible teenager to the one person who could change…everything. Sirna has taken my teenage dream and gone one step further, she threw in a mysterious hunk with a penchant for mischief and seduction. ;)
I hated nearly every moment of being a teenager, so desperate as I was to grow up, but if I had met a smokin' hot Outlier at sixteen who laid the world before my feet, I think I would have spent more time smelling the roses. For fans of YA, paranormal, romance, and humor. <3
Very promising first book in a new series. This is very much so a book for teen/young adult readers. The book was a bit confusing until about the midway point. I wish more was explained about Outliers and "The One" a little earlier in the book, it would have cleared up a lot of the confusion for me. All the teen angst is very vivid this book, the author does a fantastic job portraying it. Really loved Gavin's character. It cracked me up a lot how he would play with Cass. I liked Cass but, her teenage indecision really had me frustrated throughout much of the book. I was really hoping for more of a look at Cass and Gavin together at the end of the book, to see where the relationship would head once they weren't avoiding each other. There was a lot of build up to the relationship to have it cut away to the epilogue so soon. However, the epilogue set things up nicely for the second book. Looking forward to reading what happens next!
I had the pleasure of reading this young-adult paranormal romance as a critique parter-slash-reviewer. The story is about Cass Darling, a normal high school girl who is battling some unique problems...starting with Gavin, a new guy in town who finds effective ways to infuriate her from day one. Not only is he hot, he has bad news written all over him, especially every time she sees a pretty girl on his arm. But, when Cass develops a close friendship with his twin sister, Niko, she soon finds out there is much more to the pair than meets the eye. This is a great story of first love, adventure, sacrifice and self discovery. Can't wait to see what comes next out of this new author!
