This is a very rare moment of me reading a Chinese historical non-fiction, so I'm pretty proud of myself. My goal this year is to read a lot of Chinese books, and in the process of improving my Chinese, I hope to learn more about Chinese culture. And because this is a review, I'm going to say after I read this, I feel like history is really... how do I say this... wow. It's so dramatic, and sometimes unbelievable, but it's all real. Even though I've already had this thought planted into my mind before I read it, but the book further confirms that history is messy. So this review is not only a review, but also a flag I will plant down for myself, so I won't forget my goal as we go further into the year. :)
