This was a quick read like I was looking for. Elizabeth came off at times as way younger/immature than what age she was actually. I found her annoying at times. But it was cute to see how Kavan unintentionally/intentionally won her over.

Hooked

I began reading books by Rachel Hauck with The Wedding Dress. I loved it. As soon I finished I purchased the next in the series. Now, I am reading everything I can find with her name on it.

The characters are likable enough but its ridiculous to think that just because a guy she has only known a few months proposes that Elizabeth would throw over her desire for grad school. And why cant she have both? why is it always the female that has to throw out or put her plans on hold while they man goes on his merry way. And they did not tie up the loose end of who was buying the expensive wood and forgind kavans name

Well, it was wholesome and God-focused. beyond that, I had a hard time getting into the story. Kavan is someone I could have liked, but his character felt flat. Elizabeth straight-up bugged me with her crazy volatile emotions and mood swings. The setting, plot, characters, and writing all had the essence of one-dimensionality.

Great novel with inspiring content! Loved seeing the main characters' relationships with God develop and to read about a romance that actually felt real. The characters' faith played a big part.
The plot of this story is understandably not true for everyone as some people are called to have careers or do extended study... but I do believe it was right for the main character here in her particular circumstances.
The extended family annoyed me with their interference.
But overall great first book from this author

PLEASED TO RATE THIS BOOK

This book will help you to deal with pride issues the readers may have. If we take time to really listen to the whispering and sometimes loud messages from the Holy Spirit we would have less stressful issues in our everyday life.

Another Fun Read

Rachel Hauck genius is at work in this plot. I wondered if her Wedding Dress and Wedding Chapel books began with the story of the ring. It would be great to read the ring plot done in the same manner.
