This seems to be a "tour of fireplaces through history" rather than anything useful. I imagine this was printed during the phase of producing books of pictures of anything and everything; outhouses, door knobs, garden paths,gnomes. . .

While some of those books are enjoyable I did not care for this one.

Although a beautiful book, these designs are not practical for my house.
