Lugh’s hand fisted in her hair, getting her undivided attention. His voice deepened, dangerous and edgy. “No more freelance work.” With a serious tilt of his head and glare that tolerated no argument, he added, “Particularly with wizards or Changelings.” That stole her spit. She had to clear her throat before she could ask, “So Kev told you?” And no doubt the wood elf had known everything about her tarnished reputation, given that he’d apparently been hanging around the Unseelie. “What he did not tell me, I suspected.” With the slow roll of his wrist, Lugh angled her neck. He stared at her throat. Lips parted. Fixated, like a vampire.

Praise for the series:
I can’t say enough about this series. If you like urban fantasy then stop right now. You can’t get better than this. - Sherri S.
I like London. I like how dogged she is. She’s a fighter and a survivor - Kelly Rubidoux
I appreciate the finesse the authors exhibit when writing 3 inter-related stories that can be read as a single storyline following the timeline, or read as 3 different stories following the timelines of the Seelies or the UnSeelie and the Touched. I am “compelled” to continue reading! - G. Richman
Great series, I’m ready for the next one. -LH Moore
I have read all of the books in this series and they never fail to intrigue. If you love stories about the fae these are a must read… Can’t wait for the next book. D. Raddatz
Sneaky. Good. Well played. I love it when things are all entwined together and play out on a bigger screen. - MelHay
I'm not going to lie, Dark Lugh works for me. I like the slightly feral edge that's starting to show around the edges. He might be a bit much once the darkness overwhelms him a bit more but I like this version of him. Good guys gone bad through no fault of their own are something of a weakness of mine, I must admit.
Let's talk about London now, shall we? I like London. She's made some really bad choices along the way and she's also stuck with something dark inside her through no fault of her own but she has this moment in this book where she looks past her own wants and desires and sees that she's part of something BIG. Her actions could help the Fey survive. Heck, her actions could help Lugh survive what's coming. I just... like her. She feels guilt for some of the things she's done. She's paying for her naivete in spades. She and Lugh as a team feel right. Also, her offering herself to Lugh to help satiate his beast was weirdly hot. Self-sacrifice for the good of the many appears to be my other weakness. <3
London seems like she's finally willing to embrace the circumstances she's been thrust into, while Lugh's darkness throws another obstacle up in their quest to restore the Fey. Yes, I am having tons of fun playing in this world. How could you tell?
London is woken at four in the morning by a text, Lugh is on his way. Lugh has returned to her as he promised, but somethings off...darker. He offers to take London as his druidess and with her profession he hires her permanently to find all the relics he needs.
London thinks she has found someone to help her with her needs but she might be the one doing the helping...he might be in more danger than she.
We see Lugh's reactions through London here. Seeing Lugh see the Unseelie for the first time since the fall of the Mounds. London has no idea what's happened to him, we do after reading Protector of the Light, so it's neat to see the affects from the outside looking in. We see a lot of what is becoming of Lugh and being we are new, like London, this is a great place to see it first hand as Willem explains to us what and how 'it' affects Lugh.
This story is heavy with crossover to Lugh's story. We go in search with Lugh to find the relics he needs, we see Jonathon and Willem, and Willem joining us on this aventure.
London is on a mission, yet taking the pledge to be Lugh's, London feels in to deep and something about Lugh is different.
I'm curious to see the Unseelie story to learn more of their side and curious of Lugh's story with being with London in this one the whole time.
