Book one of The Girlfriend Series – Chloe’s Book

In the work place, we all know there are boundaries. One of those boundaries is Never Date Your Boss, especially if he is a playboy and you just had your heart broken. When Chloe Lambert finds herself down on her luck, none other than her hunky CEO boss, Garrett Nolan, steps in to rescue her, offering her temporary shelter at his ranch. Now, her boss is looking more appealing, and her friends can’t agree on whether she should sleep with him or not. Don’t even mention the fact she just learned he has a soft spot for kids and is using the ranch to help sick kids. What’s a girl to do when it feels so right?

When I was in college, a friend and I attempted to write our first romance book. We actually never reached the writing part. Mostly, we laid in the sun, brainstormed, laughed, and snacked, typical behavior for young college students with short attention spans. I went on to earn a teaching credential in special education and a career in teaching. Although we never completed that first book, the desire to tell stories remained with me. Eventually, I took out a writing pen or in my case a notebook computer my hero (husband) bought me to pursue my dreams and wrote the end.

Today, I live in Southern California with my husband, two children, and two cats that sometimes share the keyboard with me. I enjoy writing stories with plenty of heart, humor and a bit of steaminess.

I’ll start by saying that I loved this book, loved it, loved it. When you go into the book, you think it’s going to be a typical love story between boss and employee. BUT NO….this is soooooo much more. The book follows Chloe, who is trying to move forward from having her heart broken, and Garrett her charming and caring boss.

The book starts with Garrett overhearing a private conversation between Chloe and her fiancé Trevor, who is a complete “Dimwit”, this is the call where Chloe ends up homeless, broke and heartbroken. Not sure how to help Chloe but feeling that he needs to help her, he somehow ends up inviting her to stay with him at his ranch while she gets herself back on her feet.

Chloe and Garrett seem to settle quite quickly into a roommate/friendly routine, the tension between them doesn’t take long to appear. And when things do finally happen between them, things get hot. Garrett and Chloe can’t seem to keep their hands off each other, leading to some funny and awkward situations. Both of these seem to have doubts with each other and what they want from this whole situation.

I loved the story of Garrett and Chloe, but the secondary characters played quite a major part in this book. We get to meet Chloe’s crazy and completely different best friends, Garrett’s over whelming mother, flirty brother and typical teenager sister. But my favourites would have to be Kali and Josh. Kali has such an amazing back story and yet she seems to have such an appreciation for everything around her. I love her and Josh together, they are the typical young love couple. Kali and Chloe’s bond and relationship within this book was so heart-warming to read about, and the effort that Chloe goes to help Kali is awe inspiring.

Garrett and Chloe’s relationship moves quickly considering the reason for them being together, but they work. They just fit and it seems like the leap from friends to more was almost effortless, minus a few little insecurities and miss-communication. I am so pleased that things worked out like they did for these two. Well done Maggie Kaye on such a heart-warming and fantastic read. Look forward to the next books to come.

So Right With You is the first book of the Girlfriend series by Maggie Kaye and it was soooo good! I loved this book! It was fun, playful, uplifting, sexy. This book had it all!

Chloe Lambert is not having a good day. Two weeks out from her wedding she walks in on her fiance' and best-friend going at it on her kitchen table. How much more cliche' can you get? Needless to say, the wedding is off and she does not want the table back. Sadly, that isn't even her biggest problem. Most of her money was invested in the wedding. She's broke and the only place she can afford right now is a rundown, questionable at best, hotel. Her boss has offered to let her stay at his place. It's big and he lives alone, she knows that could lead to nothing, but trouble, however she has no better options. After all, her and Garrett are friends. Not best friends, but she has a great working relationship with him and would definitely consider him a friend. She knows to never act on the attraction she feels for him since she treasures her job so much. She'll just go in with her eyes open and everything will be fine, right?

Garrett Nolan accidentally hears his assistant on the phone with her cheating, scumbag fiance'. Being the good man that he is he can't stand the thought of her staying somewhere potentially dangerous and he knows what it's like to go through such an ordeal. Having Chloe stay with him won't be so bad. He likes her, they get along well, and he knows to never mix business and pleasure. The more Chloe is in his life the more he likes her and the harder it is to resist the attraction he feels for her and that's when the real fun begins.

This book is just fun, sweet, and lighthearted. Even with the storyline of the cheating ex and the backstabbing best-friend it's fun and enjoyable. Yes, it's sad and I feel for her, but you never get bogged down too much with drama. I really, really liked that Garrett headed up a ranch to help sick kids. How Ms. Kaye dealt with this topic in the book was perfect. There were the feel-good tears and the sighing of your heart for this poor teen and all she had to deal with, but I was never left drained of all emotion. I truly loved this book and am looking forward to the next one!

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I loved this story! It is very sweet and heartwarming. Garrett and Chloe were perfect for one another.

When this this story begins, Poor Chloe's life has gone to hell. She walked in on her fiance having sex with one of her best friends. If that wasn't enough, her now ex kicks her out of her condo leaving her homeless. Her boss and friend, Garrett, offers her a place to stay , and she reluctantly agrees, and their relationship grows from there.

Although their relationship progresses pretty quickly, it still feels natural for them to be together. As their feelings grow, they each have doubts about how the other truly feels. They are each so afraid of getting hurt that they refuse to acknowledge their feelings at all. A huge misunderstanding occurs, and Garrett and Chloe each have to confess their feelings or move on.

What a great debut novel! This is the first book in this series, and I very much look forward to reading the next book in this series.Kudos to Maggie Kaye for creating such a great story!

You know, I really enjoy reading about finding something special right in front of you. Maybe it's forbidden - as in this case, with Chloe and Garrett - or maybe it's not, but either way, it's the stuff of fantasy. Finding the one for you, right there where they've always been. Finally seeing someone and taking them. Oh god yes, taking them...

Chloe Lambert is homeless. When her life comes crashing down around her, and she's left to pick up the pieces alone, she finds herself accepting help from her very hot, very off-limits boss, Garrett Nolan.

Garrett really wants to help his beautiful assistant find her feet again and even though he didn't plan to take advantage of the situation, it's kind of hard to keep his hands to himself when Chloe temporarily moves into his ranch.

They both know it's not right but the problem is, it is right. It's so right. So, now what are they going to do?

What a great story! I loved this book - from Chloe's crazy friends to Garrett's kid-friendly ranch - and I found myself desperately wanting the couple to get themselves together and get it right.

While there was nothing particularly new about the boss/assistant love story, Maggie Kaye made it unique by giving us a gentle but bossy, kind but hot CEO in the form of Garrett. I loved his protectiveness of Chloe and his schemes to get her to accept his help and his gifts. I chuckled about their adventurous love-making and its itchy side effects. I sighed when his mother swooped in and tried to match-make. And I most definitely welled up a little when Chloe (and Garrett) gave a special young lady a memorable night.

Like a good, fantasy love story, I found something special in this book that was right there in front of me - and all I had to do was open it.

So Right With You is the first book in the Girlfriend series and can be read standalone. No cliffhanger. ~ Beth, 4.5 stars.

~~~
I loved this book! Even though it was the whole CEO/assistant dynamic, it wasn't just like every other book that is based on that same thing. It was quite different than the others.
The book starts out with Chloe dumping her fiancé. Because of this she has no where to stay. Her boss, Garrett Nolan, hears her talking to her ex-fiancé and offers for her to stay with him on his ranch.
The thing that really makes this book different from the others is that before she got rid of her ex they both had no other feelings for each other besides friends. She had worked for him for three years, and during that time they became friends and nothing more. I can't say that it stays that way though.
One thing that frustrated me about this book was that both of them kept quiet about their feelings because they were afraid. I just wanted them to open up to each other and get on with it! It took awhile for it to happen, but it was worth it in the end.
I loved all of Chloe's friends (except Ashley, of course) and can't wait to read their books! This book is a little emotional and it made me cry, but it also made me laugh. This is the first book I have read by Maggie Kaye and it won't be the last! ~ Leah, 5 Stars
So Right With You
by Maggie Kaye
So, When I started this book I was kind of in the mind set that this was probably going to be like the many others I have read. I mean, sweet girl thinking she will marry the man of her dreams only to walk in on him having sex with her best friend. Then we have the sexy boss who is just soooo dreamy. Cliche' Right? Right???
WRONG!!!!! WRONG!!!!!
Oh My Damn! This book was such a breath of fresh air!! I have read over 1000's of books. ( I am a blogger after all hehehe) and let me tell you it has been (unfortunately) a while since a book has truly grabbed me. I mean GRABBED me.
This book made me mad, happy, cry, laugh, sweat, Hot, cold, crazy and every other emotion I can think of. I was really able to look deep in this book and connect. It felt real. I mean, how many times do you read a fiction romance and truly feel that the story was a real story? This story really pulled me in. Oh,and the wig scene? Really?? I totally cried!!!
This really was a fun sweet read. I enjoyed it so much and truly can't wait to read more by this author. The writing was on point, characters so easy to connect with and the flow was flawless. You just can't get better then that really.
Oh, and boy did this book have heat too. Mmmmmm Garrett. That man just totally took my breath. He not only was sexy and hot but he was soooo sweet and caring. I fell in love with him right from the start. No joke!!
Chloe, Oh my, I so felt for her at the beginning and then as the story went on and we get to really meet her? Wow was she just the sweetest!! I can see myself having her as a best friend. I really loved her. I don't normally get a huge pull to the main female characters in books. It's always the hot man that grabs me. I mean don't get me wrong I do connect with them but I also have a tendency to feel like I am them and it's me in the story hehehe However, in this book I really really connected with her and felt like I knew her and wanted to be her friend. I loved watching her develop through the story and she did it with grace.
I am not going to go to much into this story by giving away what happens. I really think this is a book that should be read to find out for yourself. When I put the book down after the last page I had that feeling of awe. Just speechless awe. As I looked back at what I read and remembered scenes from the book, I couldn't help but feel like... well, It just really stuck with me. I have a feeling this will be a story that will stick with me for a long time to come.
I really don't know how else I can explain how much I loved this story. I don't know why, but this one has me speechless. There is something for everyone in this book. Oh and lets not forget the secondary characters!! Oh the friends!! And the Kids!! and well... you just really need to read this book!!!
As I'm sure you can guess I am giving this book 5 stars lol Yes 5!! Please read this book and Thank you Maggie for such an amazing story. I truly can't wait to read more from you!!
My Review
This book quickly pulled me in from the prologue. I couldn't put it down. I know Mrs. Kaye was probably ready for my review but I simply told her I needed to drag it out a bit longer, that was how good it was. Have you ever read one of those books that just didn't want to end so you try and try and try your best to read slowly and stretch it out? Well that is what I did with this one.
This book starts out with Chloe finding out some devastating news about her fiance which ends with them calling off the wedding. Now what is she suppose to do? She has no place to go. Her boss quickly finds out about what happened and has offered up his home to her. You learn they have known each other for a while and are actually really good friends. What they don't expect to happen is all the Hot Pent-Up Sexual tension between them. She finds herself feeling much better having Garrett around. She quickly makes herself at home and Garrett rather enjoys having her around. He's known for not doing relationships at all. This is such a wonderful romance. You really feel what both characters are feeling. I felt like I was right there with them. And let me tell you there are some very Steamy scenes that kept me very happy. They really tried to fight the sexual tension they had for each other. But once they stopped fighting it, they realized just how right it really felt. I loved being able to watch both Garrett and Chloe really grow together. The emotions and the ups and downs had me reeling, but in a good way. I laughed and I actually cried a bit at some parts but they were tears of joy. The twists and turns in this book and actually love and feeling the characters themselves will leave you wanting so much more.
Maggie Kaye has really made the characters come to life. I loved both P.O.V's and being able to really relate to certain situations in this book made me love it even more. Maggie Kaye did an amazing job with this book and while it has the HEA ending that everyone wants in a romance, I still can't wait for the next book in the series. Good Job Mrs. Kaye on a very wonderfully written novel.
I give this book 5 Stars because it had everything I was looking for. Fantastic writing, steamy and passionate scenes and actually pulled me in.
I was given an ARC of this book in return for my honest review. The opinions expressed here are completely my own.
Everyone knows I like some angst in my romances. There’s something about having to fight to be with the ones you love. But every once in a while it’s nice to get a story where there is no angst. There’s a little misunderstanding, a little romance, and everything working out. But it’s a sweet story. It’s a story of finding the one you were meant to be with and having it all come together like the perfect outfit.
So Right With You by Maggie Kaye is that book. There’s a little misunderstanding, a little romance and it all comes together like the perfect outfit. It’s a wonderful story of romance, love and happily ever after.
Chloe works for a rich Playboy extraordinaire. He never dates the same woman for long and he enjoys his privacy. When Chloe finds herself in a difficult situation, her boss Garrett Nolan steps in to help her out. While staying with Garrett she learns a whole new side to him. One she never imagined and she falls ass over teakettle in love with him.
But does he love her? She’s convinced he’s not the permanent type. She’s convinced she’ll have to leave him. Garrett sets out to prove his love for her.
This was a sweet story. Romantic, sweet, loving. I loved it. Chloe and Garrett came together like the perfect outfit. It all fit and they look great together. Garrett is pretty much the perfect man. Chloe was his perfect foil. She stepped in and did what needed to be done. Watching them interact and fall in love was like being curled up on the couch with a cup of hot cocoa, a fire in the fireplace and the one you love snuggled in with you. In other words, perfect.
Gift copy received from author in exchange for an honest review.
‘So Right With You’ is Maggie Kaye’s first book in her ‘The Girlfriend Series’ and it definitely exceeded my every expectation. It was fun and sweet and managed to grab me by my emotions from page one. The characters were strong and had a depth to them that made reading about them even more enjoyable.
Chloe Lambert’s fiancé cheated on her with a friend of hers three weeks before the weeding. After hearing about this, her boss, Garrett Nolan offers to help her by letting her live with him at his ranch house outside the city. All of this might seem as a total cliché, but it isn’t. Chloe is a strong and independent woman and we never had to endure her over the top melodramatics because she was cheated on by what she thought was the love of her live. Of course she was hurt, but she picked herself up and continued with her live. She was funny, sweet and generous and had a depth to her as a character that made reading about her very entertaining.
Garrett, on the other hand, at first seems to be rather shallow and the all known rich man whore who flaunts his conquests rather publicly. Yet, as we get to know him, this image of him changes rather drastically. We learn that he, too, suffered from a betrayal that left him broken and with demons. He is also very sweet, considerate and a philanthropist, who does a lot for the community without public knowledge.
Overall, I enjoyed this story immensely. It was just the right combination of sweet, funny and frustrating to keep me captivated and entertained from page one. This story might seem like so many others on at first glance, but it is definitely not! Not only is the writing great and the flow excellent, but the secondary characters were just as entertaining and fascinating and complemented the story perfectly. I can’t wait to read more of this series. I’m definitely hooked.
~Reviewed on Behalf of Give Me Books~
This book really surprised me because it had me laughing and swooning at the same time and you can never go wrong when you have those in a story. (4 stars)
There are many types of forbidden love and a boss/employee is one of them, unless of course you view it differently. Since Garrett was betrayed a while back he decided that he was not the relationship kind anymore, that is until Chloe. Overhearing a conversation between Chloe & her fiance Garrett has to make a choice, will he help her or let her figure it out herself? Oh poor Chloe she just found some devastating news so close to her wedding and my heart went out to her. She's embarrassed and just doesn't know what to do so when Garrett offers her a solution she is reluctant to accept his help because after all he is her boss. She eventually gives in and the fun starts from there. I loved Chloe's friends Ree, Harper & Leighton- they were funny and always had her back, we all need friends like that. We get to see a side of Garrett that many are not aware of and it's a beautiful sight. Garrett and Chloe get to know each other and one thing leads to another as well as what will they do about this new "friendship" and can they even make it work. Garrett was also able have closure from the betrayal and move on. There is a bit of drama and a misunderstanding that causes chaos between Garrett and Chloe, but let me tell you that once Garrett see's where he went wrong he redeems himself big time. This really is a beautiful story of taking a hold of second chances love offers you. This is a standalone and part of a series.
If you are looking for a fun, hot, steamy read with little angst, then So Right With You is a great choice.
Chloe walks in on her fiancé cheating with her best friend. In their condo. I know- real nice. Left with nowhere to go, her boss Garrett offers that she stay with him at his ranch. They have worked together for 3 years and although it is not the ideal solution, Chloe agrees planning to keep things professional.
Things start out that way but they develop feelings for each other and you can see where this goes. I have to say that I don’t blame Chloe for falling for Garrett. The man is a doll. Not only is he sexy and hot as hell but he is a total gentleman and he is so protective and caring. He takes care of her in every way, in and out of the bedroom, which is freaking hot. And it is exactly what Chloe needs after what her asshole fiancé did to her.
And speaking of Garrett taking care of Chloe, let’s talk about the sex in this book. There is plenty of it and it is hot. Maggie definitely did a great job writing the scenes.
There’s more to the story than just their romance. It does get emotional but not too much; I promise you will enjoy it. In addition to the great main characters in this book, there is an amazing cast of supporting ones as well. There’s a ton of family and friends that play a part in this story and they all are written well. In fact, the next book in the series is written about one of them, Leighton, and I can’t wait to read her story!
So Right With You (The Girlfriends Series)
Reviewed by Brittani for the Sinful thoughts book blog
I loved this little Story I thought it was a cute, quick and excellent read. This story involves Chloe Lambert and Her boss and friend Garrett Nolan, Chloe’s going through a bit of a rough patch with her life she finds out her fiancé has been cheating on her with one of her best friends, from there her life is turned up side down, she has no place to stay and barely any money after planning and paying for her wedding, Garrett picks up his phone and hears Chloe telling her Ex that they are over with and feels bad for her and offers up his private ranch and home to her till she gets on her feet.
I liked that I felt the chemistry between the characters, I loved that Chloe was an independent woman who wasn’t willing to take any free rides from Garrett and I love that there was a deeper meaning in this book not only about love, but about friendship and acceptance. Accepting that everything isn’t black and white and that it’s is ok to be yourself and to let people in, But also to try new things.
I thought the book was a cute book, worth reading at the beach, pool or just your days off, it was a quick read because you get so engrossed in it and the characters Maggie Kaye portrays are just great, I Love Chloe’s friends and how to they stuck with her and up for her, I Loved Garrett and his loving family and I loved kali, who for her age just wanted to be a normal teenager. I loved the start to this series and I cant wait to read the rest of the books.
I love it when I start a book and I’m immediately hooked. I hadn’t even finished reading the first chapter and I was well and truly involved in Chloe Lambert’s distress. If you’ve ready any of my reviews you know that becoming emotionally involved with the characters is something this is important to me.
Of course, Chloe isn’t the only character in So Right with You but she is the one that touched my heart first. Chloe is the administrative assistant for Garrett Nolan. I’m trying to think of the best words to describe Garrett. Maggie Kaye’s own words “handsome, powerful and charismatic” are a good start. Personally, I would add more superlatives.
Together, I think they are the perfect couple, although their road to happiness is not a smooth one. There are a few detours and the reader is left wondering if they will even find the way. I’m not going to tell you if they do. However, I will say that there are several during this this book that I had a smile on my face after reading certain scenes.
I almost forgot to mention the other characters. In my opinion, Chloe’s girlfriends weren’t an add-on to the story. In fact, they were an essential part of the book. I loved the story of how they met and formed a lasting friendship. This book also highlighted the fact that friends do not need to have everything in common, something I’ve found in real life. The other story lines complemented the book.
I gave So Right with You 5 out of 5 stars.
So Right With You ~ The Girlfriend Series Chloe
By Maggie Kaye
If you are looking for a romantic, sweet, love story Maggie Kaye has written the perfect blend for you. So Right With You pulled me in to the story in the very first chapter. Chloe is a very likeable character; her life is turned upside down when her fiancé cheats on her with her friend and calls off the wedding. She is devastated…in comes Garrett (who is in my definition - sex on a stick) and her boss. He hears the situation that Chloe is in and makes it his mission to help her out. Chloe is very stubborn and independent but Garret is persuasive… especially with that southern drawl… hello ladies, YUMMY!
I loved their chemistry and all of their different roles their relationship takes on (boss/employee – friends – lovers). This book has everything I look for in a great romance, drama, some infidelity, scheming, sexy love making, and boisterous best friends, the perfect blended romance story.
Maggie has a way of writing that pulls you into the story. I felt like I was reading about my best friends. When a book gives you that warm fuzzy feeling, oh my god moments, and laugh out loud smiles, I know the author has done their job. I would highly recommend this book if you’re looking for a beautifully written romance with a little drama and fun on the side. The Girlfriend Series is going to be a great series to get hooked on. I can’t wait to read about Leighton in Maggie’s next book So Into You.
First of all, I’ll start by saying that I loved this book and this is not your typical love story. Also, get comfy because once you start reading this - you won’t be able to put it down. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry but in the end, you’ll love it as much as I did.
So Right With You is a story about Chloe. Her heart is broken when she finds out her fiancé Trevor, is cheating on her. Since they live together she realizes she has nowhere to go. Chloe’s sexy boss, Garrett, overhears her conversation and offers her a place to stay at his ranch.
One of Chloe’s rules is - never date your boss. Garrett is…well, let’s just say – he’s every girls dream come true. As their relationship builds, they become more and more attracted to each other and the more time they spend together the harder it is NOT to break that rule. The chemistry between them is smokin’ – that rule definitely need to be broken between these two… just sayin’.
The supporting characters are great, easy to relate to and in my opinion, play a major part in this book. I liked all the characters, especially Kali and Josh. There’s so much more to Kali then meets the eye. The special bond that Kali and Chloe have is amazing and heart-warming – it’s what true friendship is all about.
I can't wait to see what happens in Maggie’s next book but I guarantee you it’ll be fantastic!
Thank you Maggie for a wonderful read :)
I love the characters in this book. I love Chloe’s personality and spunk. She was so happy and hopeful. She walks in on her pond scum, next thing you know her life is barreling out of control. Garrett is Chloe’s boss that goes above and beyond for her. Offering a place to stay and WOW! These two have chemistry that bounces off the pages. What really stuck out for me are the girlfriends of Chloe. You can’t help but fall for each one of the girls. I can’t wait to read the next!! Want to know what happens? One click this book .. so much emotion and love throughout the book, I had a hard time putting it down. Reason I’ve decided to rate this book 4 stars is because at first it was hard for me to read!!srwy
One of my favorite quotes in the book were said by Chloe to Kate:
“Honey, you were always pretty. You just needed the opportunity to see yourself in a different light.”
That is so true to every girl .. It stuck out to me because I guess “us” as girls we have a tendency to forget that.
Leaving you with this last quote:
“Sweetheart, I would never hold you back. Your Happiness is everything to me. All that matters to me is that we’re together.”
Could I please have a man say that to me just once !!
Wow! This was a great read! I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. It is one of those books that while you are reading you find yourself becoming friends with the characters and cheering for the 'good guy' to win. Everyone knows it is a basic rule of work to not date co-workers and an even bigger rule to not date your boss, but some rules were made to be broken and this is the perfect example of when rules need to be not just broken but smashed. Chloe is a real sweetheart who has been hurt by her fiancee and you feel her pain and I wished I was there to give her fiancee a good kick in his *#@! But after reading the whole book I don't think I would be mad at her fiancee. I would instead be shaking his hand and saying thank you for being a jerk! Chloe thought her boss Garrett was a playboy who moved from woman to woman like a honeybee, but once she let him in to help her she saw the real side of him and it was not what she was expecting! This story proves that you can't judge a book by its' cover. This book was such a treat to read! The scenes flowed and you are definitely connected to the characters through the author's words. I am looking forward to more from this author.
Maggie Kaye know away to a girls heart. So Right With You is every girls dream. How could you not fall in love with A man who wants nothing more but make you the happiest girl alive in every way possible.
Chloe is down and out, she finds her fiancé cheating on her, has know where to live and given up on love. That is until her boss of three years Garrett comes to her rescue, like knight in shining amour and this start to turn around.
This book sizzles and you can feel the electricity these two release when they are together, they are so right for each other but they don't see it.
I loved the wittiness through out the book. I laughed and I cried throughout. This is not a book you want to put down when you start. You will want to plow through it till the end. I did.
The supporting characters where fantastic and the under story regarding Kali balanced the book well. Most of all you will just fall in love with Garrett he is every girls dream. You can see why Chloe fell in love with him he is so different to Trevor, who you just want to slap so hard.
I can't wait to see what Maggie has for us next and I know it will be just as good. So if you love happy ever afters than is is the book for you.
***5 Stars***
I loved this book! Even though it was the whole CEO/assistant dynamic it wasn't just like every other book that is based on that same thing. It was quite different than the others. The book starts out with Chloe dumping her fiance. He had cheated on her with one of her friends. Because of this she has no where to stay. Her boss, Garrett Nolan, hears her talking to her ex-fiance and offers for her to stay with him on his ranch. The thing that really makes this book different from the others is that before she got rid of her ex they both had no other feelings for each other besides friends. She had worked for him for 3 years, and during that time they became friends and nothing more. I can't say that it stays that way though. One thing that frustrated me about this book was that both of them kept quiet about their feelings because they were afraid. I just wanted them to open up to each other and get on with it! It took awhile for it to happen, but it was worth it in the end. I loved all of Chloe's friends (except Ashley of course) and can't wait to read their books! This book is a little emotional and it made me cry, but it also made me laugh. This is the first book I have read by Maggie Kaye and it won't be the last!
So Right With You is a great read!
When the book starts Chloe has found her getting out of a relationship with her fiance because she found him cheating on her with her friend. They share the same place together so she finds her self with no place to live. Chloe's boss, Garrett, overhears Chloe's whole conversation with her ex fiance. Garrett is a sexy caring boss. He offers Chloe a place to stay.
Chloe and Garrett are attracted to each. But Chloe has a rule Never Date Your Boss. Garrett is a hardworking businessman who doesn't let many people in. The more Chloe learns about Garrett the harder it is not to be her rule. But what's the point of rules, if you can't bend and break them. Garrett is so worth breaking that rule.
Garrett is their to pick up the pieces for Chloe. At first I wasn't sure if he really liked Chloe or if he just he the need to fix everything. I loved all the characters. They are well written and easy to connect with. I loved Chloe's interaction with her friends, Ree, Leighton, and Harper.
So Right With You, is a great read. The story just jumps right off the pages. It's a fun read. I can't wait to read Leighton's story in So Into You.
Spotlight, Review & Giveaway: So Right With You (The Girlfriends Series) by Maggie Kaye http://wp.me/p3d0RZ-ZC
Wow! I absolutely loved this book. I went to bed way too late because I just couldn't put it down. This is Maggie Kaye's debut romance novel and the first book in a new series. Chloe was planning her wedding only to discover her fiancé and one of her bridesmaids together. Chloe's boss Garrett overhears Chloe telling her fiancé off and knowing she has nowhere to stay he offered her a her a room at one of his houses. Things heated up quickly between Chloe and Garrett, although they both tried to fight it until they just couldn't fight it anymore. There was such passion between them. Their story was heartfelt and Maggie Kaye made the characters feel real. I loved reading their story and look forward to future books in the series.
This was an amazing book from beginning to end. Chloe is an amazing woman who was supposed to be marrying Trevor until she found him with her best friend on the kitchen table. Garrett accidentally picked up the phone at work and overhears their fight. He feels bad for her and offers to help her out and let her stay with him. Innocent right? Of course not! Chloe has a major crush but he's her boss so that can't happen. He buys her everything she needs and he can't figure out why he's being so awesome to her. She is blown away by what Garrett does with some of his free time. He runs a charity organization that is out of this world. Kali is an amazing girl that has cancer and wants to be seen as a normal girl. Chloe's friends Ree, Leighton, and Harper have been best friends forever and take her under their wing. Garrett and Chloe do a stupid thing and someone has to speak up before all chances are gone. So the clan to the rescue but does he follow is heart or head? This is a wonderful and powerful book in one. So sweet and amazing can't wait for Leighton's book!
This was one great book and for some reason when I started reading it I felt I had read it before. I can't wait to see what happens in the next book in this series. I have a feeling some of the women are keeping some secrets.
Chloe Lambert seems like a pretty down to earth girl. That changes on the night she goes home early and catches the man she was going to marry in several weeks, Trevor. I knew that I didn't like him from the first and I really wanted to see something happen to him.
Garrett Nolan is the CEO of his company and has worked with Chloe for years. He can't imagine his life without her. It seems that they hid their feelings for each other. I just like how the story unfolded and it really kept my attention to where I wanted to read the book and never put it down.
The author did a great job and I will be pacing back and forth waiting on the next book. If there was a man that I would fall in love with in a book it would be Garrett.
In the work place, we all know there are boundaries. One of those boundaries is Never Date Your Boss, especially if he is a playboy and you just had your heart broken. When Chloe Lambert finds herself down on her luck, none other than her hunky CEO boss, Garrett Nolan, steps in to rescue her, offering her temporary shelter at his ranch. Now, her boss is looking more appealing, and her friends can’t agree on whether she should sleep with him or not. Don’t even mention the fact she just learned he has a soft spot for kids and is using the ranch to help sick kids. What is a girl to do when it feels so right?
Wow I was not expecting this kind of read. I was expecting something light and fun and filled with drama and hot boss/employee sex and while this book had that it had so much more! It was a really emotional read. It started with just Chloe and Nolan just living together but things happen quite fast between them and that's when things get really emotional. It was a really beautiful and quite deep book dealing with sickness but written in a really nice way, not in a depressing one, it gives hope and was really touching. Through the book and from the beginning you could feel the sexual tension between Nolan and Chloe and see their relationship grow from collegues to so much more. Maggie didn't only focus on Nolan and Chloe's love story, there are other stories in the background that you want to know more about and I really can't wait to read the second book. I'd really recommend this book it was such a lovely read.
***Review for Fallen For Books***
A wonderful approach to the classic crush on the boss. After years of working for her boss, Chloe finds herself in a predicament that kind of forces her to accept aid from the man she spends so much time with at work, her boss, Garrett. What decent employer could resist helping such a great employee, especially since that employee has become a work friend, of sorts.
The underlying attraction rises to the surface and then the fun begins. I loved the many aspects of all of the characters. Wealthy boss that came from humble beginnings. Capable assistant what becomes even more important in her boss' life. The supporting characters were just entertaining and perfect for making the story even better. I loved the many different angles of the story and how they all fit with making the characters who they were.
I look forward to reading the next installment of the series!
I received a review copy from the author in exchange for an honest review.
I started off reading the classic romance novels and so right with you is very reminiscent of my favorite themes.
Chloe comes home to find Trevor and her best friend Ashley brining a whole new meaning to the dining experience. Needless to say she's now staying in a shady motel while contemplating her next step.
Garrett Chloe's boss steps in and that's where things really pick up! Garrett is an all around great guy who knows just how Chloe is feeling it isn't long before their roommate arrangement becomes more.
Surrounded by old friends, new friends and family not to mention their meddling Garrett and Chloe overcome their reservations and misunderstandings.
Looking forward the the next installment! I want all the juicy details of Leighton's Aussie get away!!
I was given a complimentary copy of this book for review. I was asked by the author if I would like to review the book after doing a promo spotlight on my blog. At that time I was up to my neck in books to review, but was lucky enough to finally get around to this one. This was a refreshing change of pace from some of the rather heavy subject matter I have been reading lately. I could not believe this was a debut novel by this author because the story was so well written and the characters were delightful. I really enjoyed how the story line of Garret and Chloe developed and how well it was written. So Right With You is a humorous, sexy and sometimes emotional story that proves you can find love where you least expected. Job well done Maggie and I look forward to reading more from you.
This is the beginning of a series, where we follow a group of girls that met during one fateful summer. All the girls were going through a life altering crisis when they were sent to a summer camp. At camp their unique and sometimes clashing personalities bonded.
This is the first story of one of the girls finding love. Chloe finds herself with nowhere to go when her finance decides to kick her out for another woman. Garrett, Chloe's sexy boss offers her a place to stay as she builds her life back.
The chemistry between the two of them is visible, and even with all the misunderstandings Chloe's friends at there to help her see that Garrett is the one.
