Getting shot again isn’t on top of Alyssa’s list of favorite things, but if it means saving Finn Kelly, she’s more than willing to take the risk. Now, if she can only convince him to quit being so overbearing, they might stand a chance at starting some sort of relationship.
Being the head of an Irish mob family is a dangerous line of work, even if they are trying to move away from illegal activities. The last thing Finn wants is to drag Alyssa into his world, but he isn’t given much choice. With a crazy Russian mobster out for blood and his own brother fracturing the family, Alyssa and Finn will need to learn to trust one another to survive.
This book follows KACE of the Allen Securities series. Although it can be read as a stand-alone book, some characters and plot elements will have stronger impact if you have read KACE.
Madison currently lives with her husband and two children in the Valley of the Sun. Phoenix, Arizona. After leaving the frozen tundra of the north, Madison was more surprised than anyone with how much she has enjoyed living in the desert. Seeing as she had stated on more than one occasion how much she hated the heat, it was an odd move. But it seemed her hatred for sub-zero temps and ice, or really the things that ice could do, won out in the end. When she’s not writing, she’s enjoying time with her family. Madison and her family frequent festivals in the area, as well as local cultural events, and spend time with family in the area. In the summer she is most likely to be found in the pool with the family and in the winter by the fireplace. Since both her children are autistic, days can be a little chaotic but with her husband beside her, there’s nothing she can’t handle. Luckily he is also an author and able to share in all the activities (and chores) special needs kids require. Madison has a full schedule of releases planned for 2014 listed and updated on her blog: http://madisonstevens.blogspot.com/ Newsletter Sign-up: http://eepurl.com/OX9r5
Finn, Finn, Finn I always pictured him all badass,I was happy that he finally put his guard down with Alyssa. He was protective of her yet he wanted to be with her in the end it all turned out good. I liked them together. Plus The stuff that is going out with his brother or should I said Brothers, liam is definitely a brother. Can't wait for the other storys.
Ugh! Can't believe Conor did that!?!?! Hopefully there's a really good reason behind it.. I just love Finn he's still badass even though he's trying to do things better.. It sucks that it took Alyssa being shot for him to open his eyes but I'm happy it did :) ... stupid stubborn men!!! Oh Liam... Didn't expect that but maybe it will turn out ok... so with that said it's time to read Liam lol and Ryder while waiting on Conor... why does it seem all the females (including me) are always waiting on these men?!?! lol eh they're worth it :)
I liked Finn but i could not figure out what he was waiting for! It just seemed odd. I also thought Alyssa was a bit oblivious for someone who was shot.
After reading a few other books by Madison Stevens I've pretty come to the conclusion that I LOVE her books. They have a nice balance of action and romance. I would recommend to other readers to start with the Allen series and read this after Kace to get the full experience and background of these characters.
Alyssa is surprising independently fierce. After getting out of an abusive relationship and being shot to save her boss, she is no longer a pushover and has come into her own. Finn is the Irish Mob Boss. He's demanding and used to being followed. However, after Alyssa puts herself in front of bullet to save him, he can't just leave her be, and has designated himself her protector and nothing more. Besides why would he drag this woman into his dangerous lifestyle?
Can these two see past their own insecurities and find the love that only they can give to each other?
What a disappointment. The storyline and characters were all over the place and I found myself having to reread several chapters just to make sure I was following along correctly.
I really love the plots in these books. I will be honest, at first I didn't think this book was going to be as awesome as I thought it would be. I was so freaking excited to read this book. The beginning had me a little concerned. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't going in the direction I thought it would. That didn't last long though. It was a great book and I loved every moment of it.
Now, I have to figure out what books next. Conner off one of the books from the other series.
This book was so good I wish there was more of Finn... It was so good I can't wait to read the next book in the series.... I think anyone that likes mafia books would like this book so good..
What an awesome story!! I am loving it! Alyssa is such a spitfire and I love that her love for Finn won't be pushed aside. She is such a tough cookie. The love and passion between the two is combustible...I am a little sad that Eniss wouldn't see the light and Finn lost a good man for his team although I have a theory ;) I am eager to read more of this series!
Ok of course I read the Allen series and it totally rocked this series is kinda of an extension of that since Finn is introduced to us in Reed. I'm so glad Finn got his own book not only is he the head of the Irish mob but he is a total alpha and sexy. I loved this book I know the next book is Connor but I hope Noel gets one to, I'm just saying Madison Stevens!
DNF. This was book one of this series, but it felt like I joined the story "already in progress". This kept me from getting into the story, I never felt I could connect. This is the second book by this author that I did not finish for the exact same reason.
