Bryce Hayes thought when he left the military and joined the Seattle Police Department, there would be nothing he couldn’t handle. He’d seen it all; the worst of what mankind could do to each other.
But the Seven Deadly Sins had yet to rear their ugly head. Bryce was about to encounter them all embodied in one man; Field Training Officer Kohl Abbott’s inconceivable corruption. As a thirty-nine year old ‘rookie’ paired with the senior officer from hell, Bryce had no idea when he was told to ‘stay put’ in the patrol car, that his training instructor Abbott was breaking fingers and kneecaps for protection money from the small local businesses.
While in the Special Forces, Bryce was taught to shut up, to not reveal information. But this time when the net came down on the corruption he was caught in the snare. Bryce was tossed out of the department with the garbage, but was not prosecuted. He never knew why.
Twenty-eight year old Joel Vandergrift lived on Capitol Hill in Seattle, worked as a photographer and taught literature classes at night. But his real love was writing. Having his first few novels hit the bestseller lists, Joel was gaining recognition and finally thought earning a living as a writer was a possibility… until his apartment is broken into, and his computer with all his work on it, is stolen.
A day later, Joel sees his latest bestseller being sold, but under someone else’s name.
The irony of just having met a bartender named Bryce Hayes, whose behavior was suspicious to Joel, made Joel believe Bryce had a hand in the treachery.
But Bryce knew the reality.

What at first had been an ultimatum for Bryce from Abbott to find something nasty to discredit Joel as a top writer, had changed. Secrets, lies, and disastrous decisions that were impossible to take back, push Joel and Bryce together. And it isn’t until one of the men finally has had enough that fate takes over.
SNAPPED!
Lust, Greed, Envy, Sloth, Pride, Wrath, Gluttony- The ‘Infamous 7’ change one man from a cynic into a killer. And Bryce sees first hand, how war is not only fought on the battlefield, it is also drawn from the mighty pen.

Looking for a bit of suspense and thrill out of your next read? Snapped by G. A. Hauser is a book you should look at. Your going to enjoy the twists and turns of this story. G. A. Hauser did a wonderful job of creating characters who will draw you into their lives. Lives that at some point in time have a connection to each other in the past as well as the present. She also weaved all of this into a story of corruption and deceit that will have you second guessing who are the good guys and who are the bad guys. Here are the main players in this story.

Bryce Hayes bartends at the local pub. He is ex Special Forces. He left the service and joined the Seattle Police Department. During his field training he was teamed up with one of the most corrupt officer on the force. After only one month on the job his training officer along with a handful of other corrupt officers were charged and serving time for their crimes. Bryce was not charged with any crimes but this ended his career as an officer. Bryce also thinks the fact that he is gay may have had something to do with it. Now he bartends at the local pub which happens to be the local hang out for cops, ex military, firemen. and medics. Nothing sexier than a bad boy who is a good man.

Joel Maywood Vandergrift taught English literature and grammar at the public school in Rainier Valley. That was until they found out that he, an openly gay man, also wrote racy gay romance novels. When the school asked Joel to resign he decided he wanted to avoid the potential problems that some could and would start. He didn't want to loose his two careers that he loved because of those potential problems. He now teaches part time at an adult night school, started a photography business and has three novels published. One of which has hit the top of the Times list.

Koko Angler is also an author. His book - Truth; My Life as a Crooked Cop had 10 weeks on the best sellers list. It has been a year since he was published, the money he earned is pretty much gone and he is having a problem with his ghost writer. His first book has fallen off the Times best seller list. He is blaming a new and upcoming author for this happening and he has a plan to fix everything.

Kohl Abbott he was Bryce's field training officer. He was arrested by the task force that was formed to clean up the Seattle police department. Even though he was one of the most corrupt officers on the force he only served 6 months for his crimes. He is either very well connected, smart or both. He believes Bryce owes him and has convinced Bryce of this as well because he didn't get charged by the task force. And now he wants to collect on that debt. (How he kept everyone under his thumb, I would STILL like to know!)

Who knew the world of writing could be so treacherous. As Koko puts his plan in action we learn more about each of these characters. As you have probably guessed Joel is the young and upcoming author Koko wants dealt with. Now Bryce gets the one call that will clear his debt with his old trainer Kohl. He is told to find some dirt on Joel and if he can't find anything to make something up that can be used to ruin Joel's reputation as a writer. Koko doesn't care how Bryce does this he just wants it done and quick.

Bryce is great at digging up information. As he starts his investigation into Joel's life he can't seem to find anything that can be used against him. He does find some unbelievable information on Koko but he isn't the one he is trying to discredit. Bryce catches a break when Joel walks into the bar he works at and decides to take his investigation in another direction. Our sexy bad boy turns on the charm that no one could refuse and extends an offer. Joel is still heart broken over the loss of his lover. But with a little encouragement from Daphne and Belinda, a couple of the older barflies, Joel agrees to the offer.

With the introduction of our barflies and other good secondary characters the twists and turn become more dangerous. Joel notices this and starts to get suspicious about the incidents and the timing of his meeting Bryce. The events of the past, choices and consequences all affect the present and future. Oh did I mention Koko Angler is the pseudonym for Kohl Abbott? Dang I love a good suspense story!

After going true the story I have to say I am little bit disappointing with it.

I wont disagree with the fact that romance between main characters Bryce and Joe'l is hot as hell or rather sex scenes where very cool. What bothered me was story plot on its own.

Main bad guy is corrupted cop. That was one topic which is hard to read about because human nature is to believe in good and to believe cops out there are here to help us.

So reading about corrupting cups is having cold shower.

Okay I rather liked Bryce and Joel and their relationship and the sex was very hot as usual with GA Hauser. The rest of the story though was just plain bad. The main villian who's supposed to control almost everyone looked like a pathetic hysterical drunk all the time, I can't believe he had people ready to kill for him or he has some dirt on the higher ups - he couldn't even find another ghostwriter for God's sake. And the whole thing with publishing looked strange too: so Abbott bought a couple hundreds fake reviews and because of that his sales skyrocketed so much he's got more than a hundred grand royalties? I don't believe it. Because Joel's seems very successful on his own, but still he's barely scraping by.
All in all the MCs were okay, the sex was hot, but the whole story was ridiculous :/

I enjoyed reading this one a lot. I liked both the MCs and their chemistry was solid. I understand where the author was trying to go with the whole 7 deadly sins thing, but I couldn't help but feel that it was superfluous to the story. The villain was a little bit larger than life, but it was full of excitement and intrigue, and the sex scenes were absolutely smoking!
