Sarah cannot escape the deadly Ludus—a mind-body dissociation game where bodies and souls don't always merge after the game is over.

Sixteen-year-old Sarah Parker's healing touch can bring beings back to life, provided they haven't crossed over. Until now she's managed to keep her gift a secret, but somebody seems determined to expose her and get her back into St. Mary's Orphanage. Four years ago, Sarah was an orphan at St. Mary's who'd lost hope of ever being adopted and faced the gruesome Ludus, a mind-body dissociation game, until Ida showed up. She's lived a dream life since then, but Sarah senses something is amiss. She has pretty much settled into her "new life" when cracks appear in her comfort zone. The last thing Sarah wants is to return to St. Mary's.

When Marcus David, her boyfriend, is accused of murdering a student and Ida is attacked shortly thereafter, Sarah's deepest fears materialize. She loses Ida and Marcus in one breath and returns to St. Mary's. There's no escaping the Ludus and the wrath of her newfound enemies. As Sarah readjusts to St. Mary's, she learns the orphanage holds crucial secrets to her past.

This book was out of my typical genre but it was intriguing. it gave very little away and was very jumpy with little explanation making you want answers to read more. It started out a 3 stars and with the ending answering questions I needed to know to understand it better and it finally piecing it all together its a solid 4.
Its a paranormal about Sarah who is abandoned by her parents and she lives in St Marys its a school for gifted kids. she is madly in love with Marcus and all is fine u til Krista Antoinette and Armando shows up. Her best friend and her guardian are attacked and Antoinette is killed. So many unanswered questions. What is Marcus? Why is he all of a sudden with Krista? Armando is falling in love with Sarah and protecting her at all costs. Why? Sarah thinks shes abandoned by her parents but its not what it seems Ludus and Ludia gives her all her answers. All in all it's a nice unexpected HEA.

Sarah is unsure where she came from and never wanted to meet the parents she believed abandoned her. Her destiny is intertwined with the things she didn't think she wanted to know. Her life is a nonstop mystery that she must unravel as the ones she loves are put in constant danger. I enjoyed every step she took as she starts to finally understand her destiny. The more Sarah understands the more she realizes that sometimes the hardest sacrifices are made at the expense of your own happiness. Her journey is well worth the read.
