If “excuse my french” has the story, it might have came from Djian. So good book to build up the slang vocalbulary.
Would love to read one of his books when I don’t need to struggle with words anymore. I’ve enjoyed how his view turns from events to the colour of sky and if there’s a window, there is also a view - to the sea, above the city or smth else.
The story is on the writer who, as usually, either struggles with finances and go doing random jobs or gets money falling from the sky. Plenty of women, parties and alcohol, so nothing new here too. But through the pages I’ve got used to the guy and his manner of going, almost swimming through life beating to his own drum, not really caring unless it’s about one of few major people in his life.
But again, one is to read for language practice, another thing would be to get fully emersed into the story. One day.
