Matthew “Val” Taylor, the Road Captain in the club, was introduced to sex at an early age. Saved from the streets by the club’s Enforcer and President years ago, Val now lives for women and the open road. Until the night the only woman he’s ever loved is almost killed. Val determines to change his ways and be the man Zoann Donovan should have and the father their son deserves.
Zoann has loved Val for a long time. Violence and bitter betrayal forces her to ignore her feelings and distance herself not only from the sexy RC, but her beloved brother, too. Until she discovers the truth. Can Zoann ever be forgiven for all the pain she’s caused? Will Val overcome his own demons and have a future with her and their son? Who will survive in an MC filled with lust and revenge, love and hate?
Warning: This is a tale of rape, murders, deception, heartache, lies, and infidelity. The road to redemption is a tumultuous struggle where only the strong survive and justice is served…Outlaw-style.
I am slowly but surely learning to manage my time more effectively and getting back to writing and connecting with everyone. I'm not completely there yet, but it is slowly coming together. Misled and Misappropriate have been updated with additional chapters and POVs from a couple more characters. Both books have about 30,000 more words and new covers. I have new covers for all the books in the series. Recently Misled placed first in the Mystery, Suspense, and Thriller category on Chick Lit Cafe. The paperback will also be included in an upcoming Reveal Book Box. While working on Reckless, I am also updating the text in the original series. About Reckless - It will be filled with death and destruction, as usual. However, I will admit to being slightly shocked myself at some of the turn of events taking place. I have restarted my newsletter with a new name, KatChats. Until the end of the year, I plan to send it out weekly because of all the news I have to share. After that, I will switch to monthly. I also have a new website. It should be online in a couple of days once the domain transfer completes. I also have a website dedicated to the Death Dwellers. It is still in its early stages, but it is live: https://deathdwellersmc.com. Meanwhile, if you have any questions, please send them my way.

That said, I will go on to state that, while I do LOVE author Kathryn Kelly to pieces, Misbehavior felt exceedingly overwhelming with conflict, fights, and drama after the other.
It wasn’t necessarily the types of discord that went on that overwhelmed me, but, the amount and continuity of it that at times made me contemplate whether this read was really for me.
While the “course of true love never did run smooth,” Val and Zoann’s story was much different than I had originally pictured it to be. I found myself un-referring Zoann as the “Ice Queen,” as she is clearly misunderstood, and thus cheering her on throughout the plot. And from feeling sympathetic to Mal and his situation with Zoann and his son, to thinking he was a douche-manwhore with a messed up childhood which later reflected heavily in his present day self-destructive self.
Don’t get me wrong, this was still a solid read, but seeing as I am more of a light reader who can only handle so much dark themes, this was a bit heavy and chaotic for my tastes and preferences.
I was lucky enough to read an ARC on this book in order for an honest review. So here goes:
A friend once told me that Kathryn Kelly is just a genius and we are all just lucky enough to sit back and read it.
It's so true.
This is NOT your happy rainbows and unicorn MC Club. It's dirty, it's gritty, it's bad and it's FREAKING FANTASTIC.
I fell in love with Outlaw in Misled and Misappropriate. I hated Kendall in Misdeeds and wanted to slap Johnny In fact, despite the killer writing and story I'd go as much to say I hated the 2nd book (love hate but still hate)
This third book? I was worried. I wanted to bitch slap Zoann so many times in the past. This book brought so many different ranges of emotions it had me wrapped up and twisted and turned and I loved every damn second of it.
Val is not a knight in shining armor. He's a freaking hot mess on wheels. He breaks my heart. He makes me love him. He makes me hate him. He makes me want to scream.
Zoann is not your typical heroine. She's a freaking hot mess afraid to take the ride of life but attacks it nonetheless. She breaks my heart. She makes me cry. She makes me love her. She makes me want to scream at her.
Together they make me frustrated, scream, cry, smile....
I can't tell you how much I love this book. If you love the Death Dwellers? You'll love this book.
If you love MC Club books? You'll freaking jump to the moon reading this book.
If you love books in general? You should read this book.
If you love flawed characters who somehow shine despite everything you should hate? You should read this book.
In short can I just say, READ THIS BOOK. Seriously. READ IT. I have now moved it up into my top 5 of favorite romance books I've read. I've moved this series into the top 2 of my favorite all time serial reads. I'd go so far as to say I love this book more than the first in the series that hooked me. Because I get a great story, more mixed up family club madness, more Outlaw and more... just MORE.
Reminder to self. Do not read any of this series, it's THAT bad.
The H was a vile prolific cheater, I don't care what anyone says, I DO NOT FORGIVE A CHEATER. Especially this disgusting asshole who screws everything in a skirt Constantly.
This was one of the weakest men I have ever read. He had no redeeming qualities.
Another great read by Kathryn Kelly. This whole series has been one been a wonderful roller coaster ride. Within these stories, you meet alpha males,(some flawed) strong heroines and at times intense situations. There is plenty of angst and some heart ache but a great story. If you enjoy MC stories and love your characters powerful, you will love this series. ARC provided in return for a honest review.
ALL THE GUYS OBSESSION WITH MEGGIE NEEDS TO STOP!!!
I have to say that it got frustrating that all the boys thought Meggie was simply the best. I too love Meggie but enough was enough.. no one could disrespect her but the other girls were allowed to be?
In my opinion, it showed the lack of love/attraction one has for their woman if they kept commenting on how sweet and sexy Meggie is. Val mentioned it many times or would talk about her legs and breasts or what she was wearing. What probably bugged me the most was when it was mentioned how Johnnie still had something for Meggie - it was mentioned multiple times how if Megs would have it he would have her in his bed.. how does that show his love for Kendall?
It’s not fair for the ladies in their lives.. I mean we are reading a romance book and I like if the heros and heroines in my book don’t mention multiple times how someone else is or looks. I get that we all think other people besides our partners are attractive/sweet but to hve it mentioned soo many times gets to be a bit much.
I was abit fearful going in as in the past books I didn’t like Zoann but after seeing everything she had gone through I could see where she was coming from. I think her rape was kinda brushed aside by Val- which annoyed me.. I also wasn’t a big fan of how it was described multiple times when Val would sleep with another woman.
I didn’t read Johnnie and Kendall’s story.. but I can understand why a lot of people didn’t care for Kendall.. she said a lot of stupid shit. But I don’t like the way the others moreso Outlaw talked to her at times.. because if anyone said anything to Meggie he would go off so I think the same sorta thing shoulda been shown for Kendall. Outlaw needed to talk to Johnnie about that shit not snap on Kendall infront of others. Respect should be shown to everyones old ladies not just his.
I was lucky to receive an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Let me tell you if you haven't read this series it is a definite must. This story isn't your usual girl meets biker, this series is about pain, anger and working your way to happiness. With Zoann and Val their story was about their journey and how they came to how they are now. There was so much rawness and pain but they fought to get their happiness.
I love this series a lot. Especially with Johnnie and Kendall because he's standing by his girl and how their journey devlops. Megs and Outlaw, oh i wanted to shake the life out of him. I wanted to continue to read more but when I got to the end I was mad because one i ran out of snacks and two i was at the end of the book. This story is more than 5 stars, the series is a 30 star series
So this is book 3 in the Death Dwellers MC series and it’s all about Val and Zoann, characters you have met if you read the first two books. I really recommend that you read the first two books so that you can have a clear understanding of all of the characters. It could be read as a standalone but so much would be lost if you don’t really know the background. Be warned that if you have a short trigger for rape and/or cheating, you may want to reconsider reading this book. I am emotionally invested in all four couples this series. Book 1 gave us Outlaw (Christopher)/Megan; book 2 was about Johnnie/Kendall and then there is Mort/Bailey. So throw in Val/Zoann and we have four major couples that we have tracked in previous books. We have loved Meggie (Megan) for her sweetness and hated Kendall for a lot of reasons. Then Kendall gets redeemed in book 2 but falls off the wagon in book 3. Bailey still floats along as a young, sweet thing while Mort struggles with the thought of settling down. This book was really like an Emmy winning soap opera with all the drama the four women caused but then again the men shows both their strength and stupidly in high degrees. This book is a long book (400+ pages) and it goes into much history that was not included in the previous two books. We learn more about the dastardly deeds committed by Big Joe and Logan and we finally understand that Zoann really has a reason to be the bitch she is. We see the perfect couple Outlaw/Meggie have run ins because of all the stress, but don’t worry all of the couples get their HEA except for Mort/Bailey, which will be the next saga. The book opens with us discovering how both Val and Mort joined the club and Val’s (Matthew) story is a heartbreaker. Exposed to full out sex by his parents at the age of 10 and left on the streets at the age of 16 leads to him prostituting himself with women to get money for food and drugs. Yes he’s a full-fledged sex and drug addict. His parents made him watch/record and participate in group sex with them, so yeah he’s a little screwed up with the sex addiction thing. The love story that develops between Val/Zoann is heart wrenching and they both contribute to the reasons Val continues his whorish ways until he’s faced with Zoann’s possible death. Then he realizes he will make any changes that have to be made to be the man he needs to be to keep her. My heart bled for both Zoann and Val based on the awful things that happened to them during their formative years. Towards the end of the book Outlaw says he has got to get all the bitches out of the clubhouse and go back to tending to club business. I agree because all these four women did was create drama after drama and I loved the hell out of it. Mort, as usual, tried to counsel everyone into behaving correctly but then he’d go off the tracks with Bailey. We get a new character introduced into the story. Ghost aka Cash looks like he’s going to be another star in the Death Dwellers series. I know I will be reading the next book in this series because it’s like a train wreck coming and I can’t take my eyes off the track because I want to know what happens next.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Val is a jerk and there is no other way to say it, he’s selfish, self-destructive, a cheater, a bad father and weak. Even before getting the back history on Zoann’s past, I never understood why everyone was so down on her. For goodness sakes she was raped, her mother gets her face blown off right in front of her and her baby daddy is a major douchebag biker. So I say she had a lot of reason to be bitchy all the time even if we didn’t know the reason why. As for Val, I hate weak heroes and he fit the title to a T. Every time he was faced with a difficult situation he turned to drugs, alcohol or other women. He was like kid unable to cope with anything. His reaction to finding out the true extent of Zoann’s rape was appalling and killed any possible chance of me liking his character. I felt that he just wanted her to get over it and move on like it was just a tiny pebble in her shoe. HELLOOOOOOO she was raped more than physically by others, she was emotionally abused by the adults who were supposed to protect her , Damn right she has reason to be the way she was.
Now for my main problem with this book, Megan, Megs or whatever the hell you wanna call her. I am tired of her being the standard by which all the “old ladies” are judged by. Her character annoys me to no end, her constant need for attention and her simpering UGH!!!!!! ,it annoys me and people wonder why Kendall acts the way she does. Don’t get me wrong Kendall has issues that need to be worked on but come on how can she when everything she does or says has to be tempered so Megan doesn’t get her feelings hurt. Also I’m tired of everyone blaming Kendall for Megs losing the baby, they both made stupid choices in the previous book and they both lost something precious. Not that anyone cares because only Megan’s loss counts. Every action and word has to be monitored so that Megs doesn’t get upset, that’s BS. As for Kendall and Johnnie, if I were her I would pack up my kid and go find someone that could love me completely. I’m tired of Johnnie and his unrequited crush on Megan it’s annoying and disrespectful. And the way he lets others disrespect his “old lady” is downright appalling, he doesn’t truly stand up for her. I get it Kendall has a lot of insecurities but I feel that Johnnie’s behaviors feed them. I hope in the next book we get a Kendall that stands up for herself and her baby and demands the respect that she deserves.
Besides all of the above the book was really well written and I can’t wait for the next book. Hopefully some of my frustrations will be resolved.
------------------------- Didn't work for me. Val has sex with anything that moves, including during the relationship with heroin. Zoann is a bitter person and only in this book we find out why, and what happened to her was a hardship. The hero also had a traumatic childhood and is a real jerk ... and addicted to drugs and sex. I skipped the previous book, anyone who knows me knows I never do that, but I thought Kendall unbearable ... and she's still unbearable in this book. I just know that when Zoann was shot I confess that I was hoping that she would die and so she could get rid of the asshole of Val and had some peace, but the story continued. I will read the next and see if it improves, because I really enjoyed the first book. Outlaw and Megan mark presence in history and the other members of the Club also. That's what made reading less painful for me.
okay so I love these books!!! I really enjoy this story!! so heartbroken over Zoann and Val.... and the others as well... the only issue I have and honestly I can't stand it anymore is the bragging about getting into pants of Megs... jeez... like I get it!!!so stoop talking about it.... it was okay to see it in previous book because that was one of the main issues and I love how the story continues so every couples problem don't end with the their book!! but I don't wanna hear about the Megs pants anymore!! it's just boring .. please just please!!! and seriously Johny I'm only a human sentence!!! well fuck off!!! that's was just shitty!!!
My star rating for 'MISBEHAVIOR' is 4 1/2 out of 5 stars! :)
My ‘Blogging Reader’s Review’ after reading ‘MISBEHAVIOR' by Author Kathryn Kelly (via: Booksmoviesfandoms.wordpress.com):
***WARNING: Possible SPOILERS if you haven’t read the previous Novels/Novellas of the Death Dwellers MC Series.***
‘Misbehavior’ is #3 of the ‘Death Dwellers MC Series’ and technically the fifth book of the entire series, including novellas. Author Kathryn Kelly has not lost her touch and brings to life the biker club that has become a dark and entertaining series that is hard to put down or stop reading. I have to say, I LOVE the cover on this one! It is absolutely perfect. This novel is written in the P.O.V.’s(point of views) of Zoann “Puff/Chester/Bitsy”, Matthew “Valentine”, Kendall “Red”, Megan “Meggie”, Christopher “Outlaw” and Lucas “Mortician”.
The story mainly follows the main characters of this novel, Zoann and Matthew “Val” and takes the readers back to when they first met, when Zoann’s life was horribly changed, how Matthew first joined the Death Dwellers MC and brings us to the present day with all of the characters. Zoann is always moody, mean and angry towards most of the bikers in her big brother’s MC. There is one guy she can’t seem to hate even though she loathes the lifestyle he leads and that is Matthew “Val” who she first was attracted to before a life changing event in her life.
Matthew “Valentine” was raised to love sex and to never know much else. He struggled to survive but eventually found his place with the Death Dwellers MC and has been with them since. His addictions are a hazard and a downfall but they come to a head in this novel. Val has a difficult time dealing with his addictions, his feelings towards Zoann and the club problems that seem to get harder to deal with. Can Matthew “Valentine” become more of the man that he needs to be to try to win Zoann over or will he always just simply be the “baby daddy” and nothing more?
This novel also helps readers who’ve been reading this series up to date on the other character’s story-lines, too. After Meggie lost what would’ve been hers and Christopher “Outlaw’s” second son, after the terrible ordeal with Spoon, she struggles to cope with the loss. Christopher “Outlaw” also struggles to get a grip on his club and the most important person to him, Meggie and her heartache. Past secrets surface and the wedge that has kept the distance between Christopher “Outlaw” and his sister Zoann “Bitsy” may finally be put front and center. Also, we find out about Johnnie “John-Boy’s” relationship with the problematic Kendal “Red” is going. Let me just add Kendall is the most annoying character in this series and I hope she changes soon. lol! Then, there is Lucas “Mortician” and Bailey, who was the daughter of fellow biker K.P. who died. Bailey is expecting a baby with Lucas “Mortician” and Mortician is set on keeping her at a distance. He can’t seem to shake his feelings towards her no matter how hard he fights them but when another man starts moving in closer to her, will that be his wake up call?
So this is the latest in the Death Dwellers MC novel and all of the answers to those questions can pretty much be answered in the latest novel “Misbehavior”. I highly recommend this novel and this series because it is truly dark, enticing, emotionally charged and will keep the reader’s attention non-stop. This series is not for the easily disturbed readers but what can you expect from a biker series. This is gritty and raw in every way you can expect. I recommend you check this one out. I truly enjoyed it and can not wait for the next novel in the “Death Dwellers MC Series.”
My Blogging Reader's Star Rating for 'MISBEHAVIOR' is 4 1/2 out of 5 stars! :)

All I can say to start this review off is…WOW. When DiDi asked if I want to be the one to review the newest Death Dwellers installment Misbehavior, I said NO WAY! But, I gave in because I could not wait to get my hands on this book. I love this series! I have so loved seeing Ms. Kelly’s growth as an author from Misled to this book. We all know that MC romances are nothing new these days. Seems like I am seeing a new MC romance being recommended all the time now. Some are good, some are outstanding, and some are abso-F$CKING-lutely good. For me, Ms. Kelly’s Death Dwellers series falls into the last MC category. With each Death Dwellers book, Ms. Kelly is growing her characters and the MC world she has created. This MC world is in NO way pretty. This MC series is raw, gritty, utterly ugly at times, and just getting better and better with each book. Let me say up front that the ugly in this book is very ugly! There are things that happen that may be hard for some readers to handle. Ms. Kelly has put a warning in the beginning of the book for readers. With Misbehavior we are finally getting Matthew “Valentine” Taylor and Zoann Donavan’s story. I have loved Val since Misled. I have had mixed, mostly hate for Zoann. I did not think that I could ever like Zoann, or want her to be with Val. Ms. Kelly managed to turn me around and by the end I did like Val and Zoann as a couple. I still don’t have the greatest love for Zoann, but with this story I understand her better. I now get where she is coming from when she acts the way she does. Val and Zoann go through a lot in this story. Some of the time I thought they were not going to end up together. As a couple they make each other better. Val wants to be a better man for Zoann and his son. There is so much going in the story that is a little hard for me to write a review, because I do not want to give away what is going on the Dwellers world. For me it would ruin the story. I will say that book is an emotional roller coaster! Val is a HOT mess most of the book, Zoann is a complete bitch and Outlaw is a BIG A$$hole. SO many times I wanted to reach through my kindle and punch him in the balls and say grow up and stop acting like a damn toddler! I get that he and Megan are going through a rough time right now. You can feel the emotions leap off the page with Outlaw and Megan, but I still wanted him to grow up and stop being an a$$. I have to mention Kendall. I am probably one of the few readers who actually likes Kendall. Kendall is still Kendall, but in my opinion she is getting better. She is getting help and wants to change. I know a lot of readers don’t like Kendall, in fact, I feel like a lot of people hate her. She has been through so much and NO one gives her credit for the changes she is trying to make. Change takes time. Everyone needs to give her time and stop continuing to bash her for everything she says and does. There are several things that happen with Kendall, Zoann and Meggie that pissed me off for the way Kendall is treated. For me Kendall is growing and that is all you can ask for. These boys and women need to give Kendall credit where credit is due. I do have to say that I did get very frustrated with the boys and their Meggie is the best thing since sliced bread attitudes. I am not feeling the love for these boys I have had in the other books. But, a book that can take you from the highest high to the lowest low is a book worth reading in my opinion. Stories that make you feel something for those hours that you are reading is the best feeling. I may not have my complete love for some of these boys anymore, but it will not stop me from continuing to read this series. My guess is that Ms. Kelly will have my feelings changing again and again through each new book. Up next is Misguided which will be Lucas “Mortician” Banks and Bailey’s story. To say I am looking forward to this story is an understatement. Bring on the ugly Ms. Kelly, because we know Mort and Bailey’s story will not be pretty, but I bet it will be another awesome read!
I freaking love this series!!! I've read a lot of MC series but this one always stands out for me, it just has a different feel to it that sets it apart from all the others. It is violent, gritty, realistic and not at all over-romanticized. There is obviously a romantic element in the storyline but the romance, or lovestory, is of a dark variety. The men of the Death Dwellers MC are in no way the perfect, charming, uber romantic types, they are rude, crude, and downright brutal when they want to be. But these are the things that set this series apart from the rest for me and the reasons why this series has me completely hooked. This is Zoanne and Val's story, one I was eagerly anticipating. This book involved a lot of clearing up misunderstandings, healing old wounds and getting over events from the past. Zoanne and Val had such a turbulent relationship in the other books, I was most lost looking forward to this book because I couldn't wait to see how Kathryn Kelly would work her magic to get these two from that to some sort of happy ending. There was a lot of personal growth and trust building to be done between these two. There were moments when I just wanted to bang their heads together and force them to open up to each other, they are both so bloody stubborn! If you are considering reading this book I would advise you to go back and read the series from the beginning if you are new to the series. Although each book is centred around a different couple there is a long-running storyline with lots of twists and turns to keep you on your toes. I feel I cannot finish this review without mentioning Kendall. She is not the focus of this book but obviously is involved in the story. I hope there comes a time in the future of this series that I can make my peace with that girl, as it is now though, I still hate that b*tch! Even though she was not the focus of this book she still managed to get me really riled up! I just don't see any redeeming qualities in her at all. I can't see me ever getting to the point of being happy that Johnny ended up with her, he deserves better! Kendall's character has probably gotten more of a reaction and incited the strongest feelings in me than any other character I've read, and for that I applaud Kathryn Kelly's amazing writing ability. But, I'm begging you Kathryn, kill that b*tch off! (Am I allowed to say that? haha)
This is the story of the evolution of Zoann and Val. Each linked to the Death Dwellers by blood, in one form or another. One loving the club as a savior; one despising it for its poison, loving each other but not knowing how to let go and just be.
This book took me through a tidal wave of emotions, which, from reading previous installments, I expected and was even anxious for. I caught myself laughing at "Zoann-isms" and rooting for her to literally knock the eff out of Kendall. I cried for her. I wanted to write myself into the book and be there for her.
The more I empathized with Zoann, the more I wanted Outlaw to follow through on his threats by putting Val's man-part "in a slip knot and yanking it the fuck off.” Then, I started understanding Val. Yeah, Valentine, so aptly named, he made me have feels...
This is a gritty, nail biting, sit on the edge of your seat, scream at your screen, laugh out loud, ugly cry type of book, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I'm a masochist.
No, not really. I just lurve my reads.
As Outlaw would say: Buy the fuckin' book, you gonna fuckin' enjoy the motherfucker.
Received ARC and giving an HONEST review...HOLY CRAP!!!...this is Val and Zoann's story...this book takes you through the history of how Val and Christopher met, in turn how he meets Zoann...also giving you backstory on Zoann...Val has had a rough life and at a young age, lost his parents, and was forced to live off the streets...resorting to sex, to get his drugs and food and shelter...til he is taken in by Outlaw (Christopher) of the MC and Big Joe Foy...Zoann, Outlaw's sister, the good girl, has had her eye on Val, and she likes him, A Lot...until a bet, changes EVERYTHING...lives are destroyed, relationships are made, broken, repaired, made over, mended, new ones made...see for yourself what this series has to offer...if you haven't read the prev books, you should do so before reading this book....this book is about an MC group that is put together from varying backgrounds and their intertwined stories...and their pursuits of love, loss, revenge, betrayal and long road to the possibility of happiness...it is GRITTY, RAW, SEXY, FUNNY, HEARTBREAKING, REAL and ROUGH, but if you take the ride, you won't be disappointed you did, because, you will see a bunch of rough and tumble biker Men and Bitches who have been up to a whole lot of MISBEHAVIOR!!!!....
well what can i say about misbehaviour to put it simply it was amazing i was lucky enough to read this book for the amazing kathryn kelly and oh my god what an outstanding book this is, it takes the reader on a very emotional journey that is at times very raw and full of scenes that are sometimes very emotional to read but are essentail to the story of Val and Zoann's love. I recommend that the reader read the other books in the series if they have not already done so, could be read on its own but to really enjoy and appreciate this book the others should be read in order. The characters in this series are easy to like and are very easy to become attached to that you want to read more about them. I enjoyed this book from the very first page and know everyone who reads this book will feel exactly the same way that i do.
OMG! Ms. Kat can write some intense spellbinding stories. This is not a story for the faint at heart at all. There are some intense moments that you will want to skip through and don’t fill bad I did. Sorry Kat. As the warnings tell you before even buying any of her works. If you want to get her raw interpretation of Death Dwellers MC (Bikers Club) then you have to take the good with the bad. What I like is that she is able to take a barbaric way of existence and give it a humanistic touch allowing the reader to understand that not all that live this lifestyle are inhuman 24/7. Through each of the characters you see all the things you or I want in our lives but in its raw form and with each new in coming member being more educated than the next the turmoil that brings to the MC. Even with Outlaw and Meg and how she wants to see changes for him and for her son’s future. There still has to be business as usual guns and drug running but with a new system more hi-tech and slick. Well so are the women they are marrying or living with, they are more worldly, these are stronger women that not only want more for their children, themselves, but especially their man. It’s not all about “Connecting Uglies or doing the Ugly Game.” Not explain that you will have to read and see but it is what of the many parts to the story that makes it so humanly endearing as well as chill binding. Being that in some ways they don’t fly off the handle with the men they can sweet talk them to see their point of views, sometimes helpful and sometimes not. This story revolves around Zoann Donovan the sister to the head of the Death Dwellers, Christopher “Outlaw.” They had a falling out when she was 17 and had been raped and everyone had told her “Christy” as she called him didn’t want her pesty self around the club house. At that time he was not the leader Big Joe was. Joe had tried to keep it from Christopher/Outlaw for a very good reason which I won’t reveal. At the time this happened Zoann was just starting to fall for Matthew “Valentine” Taylor one of the Original 4 as they are called of the Dwellers. Val was 4 years older but light years street wise than she was. The overly protected Catholic School Girl, Outlaw ordered none of his Dweller Brothers to touch her ever for fear of DEATH. But the same day she was RAPED she had made plans to meet the next day with Val for a first date which she didn’t end up keeping. Val had been at her grandda’s house doing work and she had given him her home made lemonade. Being a virgin she was not use to Val’s crudeness. You see Val was basically sexually abused repeatedly over and over again until it was an addition to him along with drugs to numb him. Which all started for him at the age of 10. You also see how things go in their relationship or non-relationship. Johnnie has to put his foot down with Kendall finally, Bailey puts her foot down with Mort which is pretty funny really. Mort has been one of my most favorite characters. So, we get his story next can’t wait, Hurry Kat!!! Zoann I end up loving her and her strength of character and ability to stand strong when all seemed to want to make her crumble. I never liked her before so that says a lot about Kat’s writing ability. Christopher was an ass most of the book and his treatment to Megs but it was good to see Megs show her backbone and some sass thanks to Mort. The way Kat left it with the two of them though got me. I thought though, “Oh boy, holy hell is going to break lose on this one.” Well, I think you guessed I like this book. I did, I won’t lie there are a couple of tough scenes you may rush through or skip completely. One being when Zoann meets a stranger at her grandda’s house when Matthew drops her off. But that is all I am telling you. I give this book 5 stars. Provided by author for an honest review. Follow us at: www.1rad-readerreviews.com
I absolutely loved this book.I love the whole series. I read a lot of MC books but this one gives you the insight you need to understand these totally crazy, messed up, can't help but love and care about people. This is an in depth story. Lots of action, fighting, crying heartbreak, anger, sex, dirty talking and love. You name it.
This particular book goes back into the past to the present to explain some very important things that have screwed up some of our favorite characters that have only been hinted at so far. Brings you to the present to deal with the new threats to the clubs safety. Val and Zoann Donovan's story is hard and emotional. Lets us know how Matthew "Valentine" Taylor came to be a Death Dweller. There's darkness in this story but you have to read it to understand the series. The truth comes out about what happened to Zoann at 17 and shocks Val, Johnnie and her brother Outlaw to the core. We get to see more of Outlaw and Meggie's story and some heartache for them. Mortician is still fighting Bailey because of the bet. Kendall is still the pain in the azz she was. "I'm still hating on her"
I hate giving spoilers but a few hints to peek your interest ok?? lol Val does something so incredibly stupid Outlaw shoots him in the arm to answer a question that will get him killed but he is saved from Outlaw putting a bullet in his head. We all know what happened to Zoann in the last book. . What do you think she finally tells Outlaw that puts him over the deep end? What did Kendall do that has made Outlaw hate her for life and makes him want to kill her. Does she live through the book? Several people almost get killed and are critical in this book which ones and does anyone die? I am looking forward to the next book!!
Wow! I love Val and Zoann almost as much as Christopher and Megan. These two characters rocked it. This book kicks ass, it's raw and gritty as they all are in this series but the author brought it deeper into emotions and WTF moments. It's action packed, sexy as hell and oh so freaking amazing. The characters are broken and lost in parts but kick ass and on cloud nine in others. Love the intimacy between Puff and Mathew, loved their breakdowns and their coming together, love their reaching for each other, loved their understanding. Wow! I still want to slap the shit out of Kendall, I really hate her and want to slap Johnnie at times too for allowing her nonsense. Love Outaw and Meggie and of course Mort who plays a big part, can't wait for his book. But I love how the author brought you through where Zoann's life had been, what she went through, why she is the way she is and what her feelings are. brought it deeper then any others...Awesome writing and emotion in this book...loved it! Did I say I loved it!!! this is my second favorite in the series after Misled being #1 ..5 huge stars .....review by Nanee at upallnightreadallday.blogspot.com
Wow oh wow where do I start...this is not a fast read, great book, well written, but sooo much happens you have to focus & not miss a thing!! At 38% I was thinking what else can happen, so much content, twist & turns you don't see coming. At some points I wanted to slap Kendal...omg she is an idiot....great writing to make you hate a character so much! But seriously the s**** that was coming out of her mouth uhhh smack her!! This is not a soft mc book, this is nitty gritty, tough, down & dirty HOT mc book. Lots of different characters in the story. Great read, kept me hooked. No cliffhanger & HEA :). I did receive a free copy for my honest review & I would definitely recommend this book (read the other books first to have a better understanding of the characters) Enjoy!
Well we are back again with the Death Dwellers MC focusing on Val and Zoann. This couple comes into this 'relationship" with lots of baggage. Both are extremely likable characters and the historical perspective given in this book explains a lot about their past behavior. Kathryn Kelly was even able to make me like Johnny and Kendall's relationship (a small bit) which was a difficult thing to do. It was nice to see the all of the couples progress with some difficult discussions and hard work rather than a magical happy ending.
This was a wonderful read.
I have received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This definitely a 4 stars review for Zoann. She out shine the hero in this book with all the crazy things she have been through. You see through her eyes why she shut down the biker world the way she did. So if you want to read with a strong heroine lead, then this the book. Also in this book you see Meggie and Outlaw bond grew stronger with the problem Megan was going through. Also have a little bit of Mort/Bailey and John Boy/Kendall. I can't really say much about Val cause I don't like his character.
Would have given it 5 stars if Kendall had met a gruesome, painful end somewhere in this book. I really find that character completely unbearable. Love the rest of the crew though. Glad to get Val and Zoann's story and looking forward to Mortician and Bailey's!
First thing first, I want to kill Kendall , I can't stand her, if you were to kill her off and give Johnnie a new women I won't be mad, I promise. Anyways I still love this series but I wish we had a little more interaction with Val and Zoanna... Looking forward to the next book.
Roller coaster, drama, sex, betrayal, a family of blood and bikers. What a mind F@&$!!!!!!! My moods are tied to the books I read. I was a mess. This is one heavy, must read
Zoann Donovan had led a privileged life under the protection of her grandfather. She had no idea that he was the founder and leader of a violent MC called the Death Dwellers. Her grandfather had always favored her and her cousin Johnnie while abusive toward her brother Christopher. She had nice clothes, went to good schools and was treated like a princess. Zoann loved her brother and could not understand the hatred that her grandfather felt towards him. She was beginning to feel sexual curiosity when she saw Val for the first time at her grandfather’s house. Val was everything she had ever dreamed of in a man but her grandfather hated bikers and he was one. Zoann was asked to cook dinner for her grandfather one night and when she arrived she was not expecting to what was waiting for her, an abusive rapist. She was not allowed to report the rape and her family would not allow her to talk with anyone about what had happened to her. Would she ever be able to trust any man again? She could not trust her brother the one person that had always been there for her.
Mathew ‘Val’ Taylor is the RC for the Death Dwellers’ MC. He was rescued by Christopher Donovan, better known as Outlaw when they were still in their teens. Val was living on the streets, starving and already addicted to drugs and sex. The club gave him purpose and with the help of his brothers he had kicked his drug addiction and was living the MC life. Until one day while cleaning up a job at the Prez house he met Zoann and his life was changed forever. She was sweet, pure and sexy with a stubborn streak that turned him on like never before. Only problem was the fact she was an MC Princess, the granddaughter of the club founder with a hands off policy if you wanted to live long. It took a while before he finally had a chance with Zoann and he took it. That interlude was the beginning of a love hate relationship between them.
What really happened to Zoann that night? Who was really responsible for the rapist being in her grandfather’s house? Why did her brother turn his back on her? Can she ever open up and share the past with Val? Will they find a future together?
Would I recommend this book: Yes! This is a realistic look at abuse, betrayal and rape while still telling a courageous love story that overcomes all obstacles. You will find yourself pulling for the characters and praying that they can overcome the roadblocks placed in their way.
Would I recommend this author: Yes! If you are interested in reading a true portrayal of life as a one percenter and the consequences of this lifestyle this author is a must read. At the end of each book you will be asking what happens next.
