Confessions of a Daughter (London Brown #5)

I’m Desniah Williams, the daughter of an influential member of the British Parliament. The devil incarnate got his hooks in me. For the attention and praise he lavished on me, I gave him every last shred of my soul. I was a cheap whore. London commands her weight in gold.

Two men one is a politician on the verge of greatness and the other a philanthropist on the cusp of corruption, each owns a piece of me.

Freedom is bitter responsibility…submission is sweet abdication.

Warning: Depending on the episode London Brown falls under the following: Erotica, BDSM/Kinky, and Dark Erotica/Taboo (dubious/non-consent) Also contains the theme of coping with survival of childhood sexual abuse/assault.

Leila DeSint was born in a small town on the east coast of Canada. Her nomadic childhood gave her the ability to ebb and flow with the seasons, people and places she lived in. Most often, she could be found in a corner with a pencil and notepad using words to recreate the dark world around her. Many summers of her youth were spent on the shores of her birthplace collecting seashells, but she always returned them for the next wanderer that happened by.

The pencil and notepad have been traded for a computer, but the words never stop flowing, nor did her interest in conjuring glimpses of the world as she perceived it. The corner is now a desk. And rather than leaving behind seashells for wanderers, she pens dark, gritty erotic literature that examines the complexities of human emotions and sexuality through an ever-changing lens. She delves into the shadowy areas and explores the social-perceptions of taboos.

She threads together the remnants of the world she witnessed in order to shed light on obscure places.

I adore this series! Confessions of a Philanthropist started with a slow burn and nearly combusted me at its finish. The series is truly a guilty pleasure. Reminiscent of a television drama, at episodes end I want to beg for the next. Instead of, "Oh, no, I have to wait a week to watch the next. I have to wait until she publishes the next."

Rhys, I am madly in love with you. There is something about a twisted character that flips a switch in me, and Rhys flips everyone of them. While I thought Caden was amazing, Rhys came out of left field and he ran off with my mind and heart. He intrigues and captivates me.

The characters are fantastic: Des. with her tortured innocence and her alter ego London Brown, who is a confident assured woman. I love the transition from Desniah to LB, it's flawless. Caden is the white knight of the story. Rhys is the best friend who truly understands you and loves you for your flaws because he is as deeply flawed.

I can't wait to see where Leila DeSint takes these characters and their story.

Confessions of a Philanthropist #4

London/ Desniah
Caden Carrington IV and V
Rhys

My introduction to London/ Desniah puzzled me as I felt as though I jumped into the middle of the pool without my fins. :-) I was taken by surprise in the beginning of Chronicle #3 trying to adjust to the personalities of London and Desniah. Dealing with multiple personalities the two individuals operate at polar opposites. She works in the oldest profession/ prostituting herself to for money however I am not clear as to why and who appears to have a fetish for BDSM. London is the dominate personality and is the whore. It is strange that London lacks an effective clientele filter to avoid harmful clients and ends up with multiple physical damage that is clearly visible to anyone. These cases of abuse is problematic because she can not allow her father who is prominent member of society to see her in this condition. She undoubtedly will have a challenge on her hands trying to justify her injuries. How many times can falling down stairs and running into doors be used as an excuse for being black and blue? London's involvement with Caden Carrington the V has complexities that occasionally I felt as though I needed near FBI skills to keep track of the nature of this relationship. There many threads that has been frazzled and I need to pay attention as the events unfold. I admire London's strength as she maintains power regardless of the circumstances.

Desniah resides in the same body as London but is a soft and gentile person who has been hurt in her relationships with Caden and perhaps her father and others making her appear shy and avoiding conflicts of any kind. Although she and London share some sexual appetites I don't really feel contacted to Desniah because of her demur persona. Desniah enjoys the act of being asphyxiated as a part of her sensual pleasure routine.

Caden the fifth has strong affection for London and Desniah but I get the feeling that he prefers London because she is a harder nut to crack. London comes across as intolerant of too much of Caden's BS all in the name of love.

Desniah put a smile on my face with the manner in which she handles the snobs at the garden party with the Carrington family was priceless. Having a dear friend like Rhys is perfect for them and those looking in from the outside. Their association instigates a series of rumors on the wagging tongues of gossipers. Rhys is colorful and I feel comfortable with him because he understands who he is and has no plans to engaging into erotic relationships with any woman. He too, enjoys some of the BDSM practices and has the same challenges keeping his darker side hidden. Rhys enjoys being with women only if he can exert power, roughing up the woman without sexual contact.

The bathroom scene at the manor was sizzling between Desniah and Rhys. It was caring and gentle as they used each other to satisfy their personal motives and agendas. Rhys reaction to Caden barging into the bathroom gave me a chuckle and I cheered in the way Rhys handled him before leaving the party with Desniah. It's a Classic

The Chronicles are intriguing and I am sure that once I go back to previous installments and get deeper into flow it will make the reading smoother even more exciting. I appreciate the many twists and turns and not knowing what to expect until the next installment.
Pleasing characters with elaborate personalities, beautiful settings and story complexities makes for a challenging page turner because the reader must have a sharp analytical ability to stay with the narrative. I enjoy this brain stimuli which is usually absent in many erotica/BDSM novels.

Confession of a Daughter Confessions #5

I think I know my few best friends better than some of their family members. But I must confess since we are telling issues that my best friends don't know all of the secrets. As Lelia DeSint demonstrates through her awesome characters that no one really knows it all. When you find out the as someone's best friend who share joys and sorrows not knowing about their sexuality is a bit unsettling don't you think? Here is the question that stands out as a reader of Confessions do Rhys and Des know about their troubling obstacles revolving their personal conflicts with sexual expressions and pleasures?

I have a best friend who resides deep inside of the safety of this warm chocolate structure and she experiences funny and exciting things as well as my heartaches with me. Of course no one knows about her. Most individuals remember having an invisible friends, brother or sister, dog or cat. What events in life stimulate the mind to conjure up this savior?

London Brown, hmm, what can be so devastating in a such a brief time of two years of a young tender soul that prompts a little girl to development of surrogate to stand in for her? What is a time where the super hero of Desniah Williams shows her how to survive a raging emotional storm?
Once again Ms. DeSint kicks me in the shins with the complexities of true friendship. Wow, Ms. DeSint just keeps me slightly unbalance with the development of new events that cause me to experience the drunken state of the room spinning as I have inserted myself completely into this complex storyline.

Des was going to be more than a friend with privileges to Rhys as they confronted her father one special morning. Rhys and Des discovered more about each other and learned to appreciate what each other was truly about and how it would or would not impact their relationship. The degree of dedication, purity, gratitude and sweetness Ms. DeSint incorporates into the relationship of Des and Rhys is executed with grace it touched my soul.

Ms. DeSint's revelation of the handling and coping with conflicts between prominent members of society were all about appearances and not necessarily about what is right but rather as who is right.

Ms. DeSints consonance with the descriptions of the sensual BDSM, dialogue, environmental impact on the story are explicit however not offensive to readers new to this genre. She has a smooth and soothing way of easing the reader into hot water that titillates rather than tortures.

I look forward to what Ms. DeSint will reveal in the upcoming installments since I am addicted to the story. Her handling of current events of our era are on point with real people regardless of where they reside.

Confessions of a Whore #6

How true is the quote regarding, “the sins of the fathers' be visited by the son a thousand time” run it course through Confession series by Lelia DeSint. Only time will tell and I will be there to count them as I watch them unfold.

In this installment Ms. DeSint lets London feel that perhaps control may be slipping away as Rhys and Des become closer in their intimate play. London recalls how she first became London Brown and the encounters of pain that encouraged her to come forth to save as the Protector of Desniah Williams.

In this segment London simply used the words of the Carrington men against them and their insanity takes charge and played into London's hands or so she thinks.
Des and Rhys relationship shifted, in my opinion upsetting more than one apple cart and London feels that her power over Des will lessen. Will her employment with The Agency be interrupted if Des takes hold of the reins?

London learns more of Rhys secrets and the connection with his deep love for Des. London aka Des is presented with unexpected information now Des usurps power over London and this power struggle may end with the disappearance of London the Protector in order for Des to step up for Rhys and his sexual fantasies as a result of her discovery of Rhys' research.

In a damning change of events the plot really thickens in several ways as more puzzle piece fall onto the floor. I will continue to analyze and speculate as to what I'd like to unfold and anxiously await the next installment of the Confessions series. Hmm, how close am I in my own twisted mind to come up with the revelations. Hope you join me on this ride of mind games and identity crisis.

If this is your first encounter with the Confessions of a Whore series you can easily catch up because of the manner in which Ms. DeSint begins each new installment. She makes certain her readers will not feel disconnected and the techniques Ms. DeSint utilizes to introduce each new installment motivates you to investigate and devour previous segments to gain more clarity and dimension into this gem of a series.

Wow, I am speechless. I loved this installment of the series the best so far. I am sad because #6 was just released and I will have to wait for #7.

Leila DeSint is a master at slowly leaking information. She gives you just enough to keep you hooked and starved for more. This series is twisted, raw, and emotional. I've never read a series with the main character having DID. It is intriguing for me to read. The small cast of characters is incredible.

The entire time I want to know what is going on, who did what, and how it will end. But it's the tension of NEEDING to know what is next that is such a thrill.

Rhys, you naughty boy. I know I'm not supposed to like you, but I've always had a thing for the sociopaths in a story. Cade was stronger this installment and that tripped my trigger. It's a toss-up for which of the men intrigues me more. I just keep envisioning the scene when Cade finally learns what CJ did. Hell, I want to truly know what CJ did.

Bravo Leila DeSint... And I want #7 soon!! <--Like yesterday :)

I adore the release of information. Answers that plague you from the last episode are answered, while new questions arise.
The characters are complex and multi-faceted, especially the main characters. I am intrigued by her struggle to deal with DID.
