She glimpses the darkness of my heart and offers me her body. But I seek her submission...

I’m Rhys Christos Edward Stowell, a philanthropist on the verge of exile from a suffocating state of corruption. My lack of conformity to perceived norms has earned me a reputation of being difficult. I rather like it that way.

Beguiled by a woman who uses the oldest profession to torture herself and punish those that love her, I’m ever her dutiful friend. But I want much more…

After years of being neatly boxed in the friend category, she offers me surrender. Or the semblance of it….

Leila DeSint was born in a small town on the east coast of Canada. Her nomadic childhood gave her the ability to ebb and flow with the seasons, people and places she lived in. Most often, she could be found in a corner with a pencil and notepad using words to recreate the dark world around her. Many summers of her youth were spent on the shores of her birthplace collecting seashells, but she always returned them for the next wanderer that happened by.

The pencil and notepad have been traded for a computer, but the words never stop flowing, nor did her interest in conjuring glimpses of the world as she perceived it. The corner is now a desk. And rather than leaving behind seashells for wanderers, she pens dark, gritty erotic literature that examines the complexities of human emotions and sexuality through an ever-changing lens. She delves into the shadowy areas and explores the social-perceptions of taboos.

She threads together the remnants of the world she witnessed in order to shed light on obscure places.

Confessions of a Philanthropist (London Brown #7) is another much-anticipated addition to the London Brown series. In this addition, Rhys confronts Desniah's abuser and a bit of justice is dealt. I say a bit because this man is deplorable! The way he tried to justify what he did to London as a child - in my opinion, Rhys was way too easy on him.

Anywho, secrets are brought to light as Rhys confesses his dark side to Des and Des opens up fully about what happened between her and the older Mr. Carrington.

This short finally made me realize that Des and London are indeed two people co-existing within one body. At first I thought London was just an alter ego that Des would use when she had to 'turn a trick' but nooo, she really has multiple personality disorder! And the fact that Rhys is in love with Des but despises London makes this series all the more intriguing!

As always, the sex scenes are hot!

Can't wait for London Brown #8!

Confessions of a Whore #9 by Leila DeSint

“Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you” (Luke 10:19).

In Confession of a Whore #9 Desniah harbors the fortitude to overturn everything! She has the knowledge and confidence to put Caden, Dr. Llwendlyn and the other emotional terrorists who have held her capture for years in their place...under her heels.

Ms. DeSint's creativity provides the reader with a sense of wonderment craving an understanding of her characters Desnaih, Rhys, Caden, London and Dr. Llewelyn . I especially enjoy the subtle vantage points of the narrators during the series.

Rhys has been instrumental in Desnaih's discovery of control. Rhys and Desniah are becoming a force to be reckon with. I delighted in the thrill of danger among Des and Rhys. Des depends on him for that which she can not provide alone. Rhys and Desniah's lives have been a cornerstone of Desniah's grip on life. Their communication is one of deep emotional and physical economics.

Is this the time Desniah allows her true self to manifest and stake claim on her life from the many years of fermented darkness and filth? I believe once the scary things which go bump in the night disappear life may take on a radiant, abundant life of abiding love.

Des, Rhys and London, Dr. Llwendlyn remind me of a fast-pace game of “cat and mouse” braided with “hide and go seek”. Human natures prevails when games are played and the rules are altered while in play and a player does not understand all of the rules. Hence the feelings of being cheated or mistreated.

Confession of a Whore #9 is a upside ride on a roller-coaster with the butterflies that brings on a bit of disorientation as only Ms. DeSint can bring to readers.

Dr. Llewelyn, the dirty, old man, a pervert in my opinion operating under the cloak of a psychiatrist's power of influence on the mind of the weak. His behavior is quite “ Dom” like; skillful and manipulating situations which serves his desire, discipline. London's service call lands her under the fantasies of Dr. Llewelyn.

Through Confession of a Whore #9 Ms. DeSint blends the causes of the horrors of Desniah's nightmares and the quest rid herself of them as the foundation of the series. When will these issues be cured and who will be the person carrying Des to safety...Rhys, Caden, or Dr Llewelyn?
It is my sense that the leverage Desnaih has and will soon use will throw the nightmares and those involved into a stratosphere surprising everyone.

Ms. DeSint continues to frame her narrative with nightmares that take on a pulse of reality for Desniah as she tries to contain London and keep both of them safe. Ms. DeSint's writing transfers the pain and heartache of the characters and draws the reader into the opaqueness of electrified sensory elements as sensuality runs rampart through this segment of Confessions of a Whore #9. The sex play is burning up my e-reader and I could not let go, the force held me so tightly. All of the feelings possessed by Desnaih, London, Rhys rushed into me like a flood that strikes in middle of the night. The ingredients of domination are prevalent and shows the dimensions of the mind, body and soul of a person manufactures a protective film over its injuries.

I found it nearly impossible to push aside the conflicted emotions as I read Confession of a Whore #9 and it appears to be where I will reside until Ms. DeSint's next installment. I feel as perplexed as Des and London as I stumble around the murky corners of my psyche in search of control. Ms. DeSint presides over how I feel about my distressed friends/ her characters. Ms. DeSint is writhing her Dominatrix persona and I love it with the free fall sensation that accompanies it until Confession segment # 10.

Confessions of a Daughter London Brown #8 by Leila DeSint

It's bordering on insanity, somewhat a blur then suddenly the eyes focus and the realization hits me mentally, physically, emotionally. The emotional whirlwind catches the reader of Confessions of a Daughter # 8 by one awesome, creative author Leila DeSint.

In this portion of the series I was knocked up against the wall with a thud thanks to Rhys and Desniah. Their alleged relationship has morphed a long time friendship into a deeper than anticipated relationship. The bond between Desniah and Rhys is difficult to articulate because of its depth it has to be experienced. Ms. DeSint exposes the raw complexities of the dark sides as they merge and grow into one of protection and dedication. With this addiction for each other Desniah and Rhys must endure all of the sacrifices that accompany such a devoted relationship.

Desniah really needs to keep Rhys in her life to give her a sense of being grounded he proves to be her guardian angel. Rhys guides her through the thick fog of confusion which compromises her strengths. Desniah constant struggle with London and her antics continues to shakes her self-confidence, peace of mind and beauty.

Rhys will do things that appear humanly impossible to come between dangers of pervasive darkness the two of them share. tHis loyalty to protect Desniah from those who torment her...Cade, London, Dr Llewelyn, just to point the finger at a few is so endearing yet frightening in some regard.
He comforts Desniah and gives her everything she requires to get a grip on her power hidden beneath her damaged life.

Rhys is so tender yet determined and dominant at this junction of the narrative. Rhys' dark, hidden aspects of his troubling existence is repressed to serve Desniah in the manner she does not clearly comprehend.

Following these two characters brings about surprises with the sensations of playing with electricity as the new discoveries unravel about Rhys. They peek from behind the heavy curtain.

I found myself conflicted during phases of Confession of a Daughter# 8 attempting to understand all of his issues. Rhys' battles of his personal disharmony perplexed me. I felt so connected with Desniah, she too must have felt the same way as we travelled down that unknown path buried inside Rhys.

Ms DeSint once again proves how she assimilates into the psyche of individuals who experienced constant injuries at the hands of people who have placed trust into the wrong hands and hearts through Rhys and Desniah. The skillful manner Ms. DeSint uses to transfer the negative energies into powerful hard hitting, fantastic sensual encounters is on the brink of insanity. Wow! My five senses transformed into a bag of rattling cans loaded with explosives absorbing the moments of unbridled eroticism.

This segment of the Confessions of a Daughter series is sizzling hot with the intensity is similar to the adrenaline rush one may experience bungee jumping. What a ride!

I'm glad he did it and I don't feel bad about it. This is not the first book I read with abused children and it never fails, makes me sick every time as I'm sure everyone feels. Yet when I'm reading it all I do is pray/hope for their happy ending and that is why I continue reading. Coping mechanisms are different for everyone and that is where we should keep an open mind. I laugh through mine... Des turns into London for her... its just the way of life.

I don't know what to feel for Rhys anymore. I knew he had a dark side from the previous installments but Damn! Its great he has a control on it but for how long? When will he finally snap? At whose expense? I don't know how to feel about it. Its intriguing as much as troubling.

Then, Desniah. *sigh* She is soo fucked up! Yes, shes learned a way of coping with the issues but at what point do you find a solution rather than a cover up to the problem?

Good installment to the series. Loving it so far!!

This series is awesome. I am so into this series. The storyline is awesome. We are dealing with 4 people who all have issues. I don't know that this series will end with an HEA. I don't see it. Will the heroine die and finally find peace. Definitely moving onto the next Volume.
