Gone from having everything to having nothing in the blink of an eye is the world that Robin Winters was thrown into. Born with a silver spoon in her mouth in a wealthy family without a care in the world, Robin, a once rich-girl from Florida, has lost everything when her father, is arrested for embezzlement. Now having to slowly adjust to a downgraded life, in a new city, Robin, must learn what it means to survive with the fittest. Joni is Robin's new neighbor. Not your typical "hood" girl, but the typical scammer that dabbles in everything from boosting to hustling. Joni takes a liking to Robin and plans to get her away from her "bougie" persona into something more "hood" certified." The lifestyle that Joni is leading will land her in much more trouble than jail, especially when a stripper introduces Joni into blackmailing businessmen. Now deciding it is time for Robin to be down with this life of chaos, Joni convinces Robin to prove herself continuously. Her motto is “it’s either you’re with me or against me.” Joni’s plan is to take over the hood like her older brothers had failed to do. Ron has struggled his whole life. Being on his own since 15, he’s always wanted a life in which he would never have to want for anything. Growing up with a mother who abandoned him and a father who committed suicide, Ron had to grow up fast in this cold world alone. Now as a man, he has his eyes set on two things, getting money and the new girl Robin. He plans on telling his best friend Joni that he is leaving the game plus taking Robin with him. But when two events occur in his life, everything changes and he begins to reevaluate the route his life is taking. Sometimes you have to be thrown into situations to know what it’s like. In the wild, you either sink or you swim. Follow the lives of Robin, Joni, and Ron as they try to figure out how to make it out of The Lions’ Den.
I'm all for "stickin' by your friends" but if my girl kept getting me involved in stuff that could potentially land me in jail, HELL NO, I would have to leave that friendship. BUT on the other hand, you are supposed to be a friend through thick and thin. You are to ride out with your girl to the end, and that is exactly what Robin does. I hope Cola gets her rass beat in the next book.
I couldn't put this book down! From the first page to the last, it kept me on the edge of my seat. The plot is full of twists and turns, and the suspense is palpable. A thrilling read.
The Lions Den is about a once rich girl from Florida that loses everything when her father is arrested for embezzlement. Robin Winters had everything she always wanted and more without a care in the world.
Robin and her family loses everything and have to downsize and must live what it means to survive.
In Robin's new neighborhood she meets Joni and Ron. Both her new friend take her on a ride that she would have never thought she would ever be doing.
This book was very good. Thank you to the author for a good story. I love the title. The title fits the story line perfectly. The characters and the story line was well developed.
I highly recommend that you add this book series to your list of books to read this year.
I must say I truly enjoyed this book. It started off with a bang and I have it a 5stars immediately. Then it slow down on me and I said to myself, self(lol) we have to give this book a 4 stars...then outta nowhere, bam the book picked right back to a 5 star straight to the end. Nite that was an excellent read. Quesha, darling where is part two. Cause I'm ready tho do nuff damage to Cola and find out what will become of Robin, Adelphi and Ron in this here little triangle. Great start. Looking for much more God reads from you. Thx
Robin did not trust her instincts and instead let Joni get her mixed up in capers she really doesn't need to be pulling. Cola has never liked Robin and probably never will. Joni is a schemer by nature and always looking for a come up. Ron is trying to turn his life around for the most part but thrown for a loop when his uncle tells him who wants to re-enter his life.
All in all a well paced, story that ended with a...drum roll. ..wait for it...preview of the sequel which I won't be reading.
Gone from being a spoiled brat Robin is in for a rude awakening when her whole life was nothing but a lie and her dad was the cause of it all. Such a good book I'm ready for part 2. This is the first time I read a book by this author and plan on reading more of her books in the future great job
I didn't really get into this book until the last 3 chapters Up until then it as real slow with nothing much going on. I hope the next book moves at a faster pace.
