She knows his internet screen name but she doesn't know his face. As he knots a blindfold at the back of her head, she submits to a sexual master for the first time in this anonymous encounter. Faceless, nameless, nothing but sensation...this time, anonymous is just the way she wants it.

It's a pity this was such a short read, and I mean really short; 38 pages or so. It's a story about a society wife who wants out of a loveless marriage and seeks solace in the arms of Dom she met on an online BDSM forum. To say more would spoil the story but this was a surprisingly emotional read. I would have loved to explore Lauren's relationship with her husband and her relationship with her Master. Oh well.

"Open meant acceptance. Open meant agreement. Open meant...Submission."

Lauren Brant is the perfect society wife. Married to a man in name only, serving as his companion on business functions but living in separate houses in different cities on different continents. Loneliness is par for the course...

Joining an online club, Lauren learns the art of submission and makes plans to finally meet her Master. All she has to do to make that a reality is call her husband.

"I didn't call to tell you about my travel arrangements. I called to tell you I'll be in Michigan. Meeting a man. Submitting--he's a sexual Dominant. I'm meeting him because I'm going to submit to him."

Bracing for the brunt his reaction left her confused when he didn't react at all. Her conscience guilty over being openly unfaithful even if there is nothing more to her marriage that a binding contract.

Steeling her resolve, Lauren goes to her Master. Meeting him in a shady hotel and submitting to his will. He takes her to new heights in her desires and all without ever revealing his identity...exactly the way she had requested. But now, Lauren isn't so sure that's what she wants. what if she wants more? Master gives her everything she seeks and that scares her.

"Tell me to stop and i will. I don't want to scare you. I want to push your limits, to claim your edges as my domain. I've wanted to give you this freedom since the first time you told me you felt trapped."

Lauren felt trapped no longer....Master had freed her. He made her feel beautiful, desired and sexy. Now, she just had to remember that once she returned home.

Home...Jacob was waiting for her when she returned. Wanting nothing more than to brush his invitation to join him for the evening, Lauren's guilt kept her mouth shut. Jacob was taking her out to dinner and she would play her part in their marriage roles.

Only dinner was not what she had expected. Instead, she was introduced to an entirely new side to Jacob. A side of him she wasn't sure she wanted to see...

"You have options. You have me. Be mine. Belong to me."

Holy wow! For a novella, I am absolutely floored! This story read like a novel, a very steamy novel and I loved every second of it. I will definitely be picking up more from Emily Ryan-Davis. This was hot and yet romantic all at the same time. *sigh*

Lauren Brant was a good society wife. She gave the right impression, supported her husband, Jacob, at various events, made the right noises..in public at least.

Her loveless 5 year marriage had led her to seek intimate comfort elsewhere. She had been communicating with him for many months via the internet, and we then experience a one night stand with a man known only to her as Master.

Following on from that encounter, her husband unusually comes home and wants to communicate, wants to take her out.

I liked the concept of the story, but feel as such a short story, we are only getting a glimpse of it before it is ended. There is not much background on Jacob, but that could be something that is expanded on in the next book. I'm afraid to say there needs to be a little more of a hook in this part to keep me reading, which is a shame as I liked the writing style.

My Rating: ❤❤❤❤
VERY GOOD: The characteristics of a 4 heart book include: a great story; I loved the characters; and there was an interesting plot and unique story elements; there may have been a few odd things kept the story from being amazing.
Initial Reaction:
Definitely short. Definitely sexy. Definitely left me wanting more.
My Thoughts:
This book was provided by NetGalley for an honest review.

Claiming Lauren was a very short but steamy, sexy, and sweet read. Lauren Brant is a society wife, classy, polished, elegant...and lonely. Although she is married to the a very successful and handsome man, their marriage is in name only. Divided by continents, their lives are completely separate. Lauren wants out but the confines of high-society dictate that she stay in a marriage where love, or even remote like, don't factor into it at all. Driven by her loneliness and the desire to assuage her physical needs, Lauren joins a chat group that caters to those in the BDSM lifestyle. This is where she meets Master and carries on a two year virtual relationship with him. As time goes by Lauren feels more and more alone and decides to meet Master face-to-face. In a serendipitous twist of fate, Lauren's life and her future are irrevocably changed.

I am not typically a fan of short stories because they lack depth and background. However, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that I enjoyed this quick 38-page read. The author did not go into depth about how/why Jacob continued the farce with Lauren; however, she clearly expressed Lauren's motivations. She was lonely. She was miserable. She was unhappy and unloved. She needed an outlet. And Master, nom de plume Jacob, was that outlet. The two had a very intense meeting and contact and it only intensified Lauren's wanting for more upon their departure. I liked how Jacob revealed who he was to Lauren and how they connected after it. What was missing for me from this story was the feeling behind Jacob's confession of love. It came across as told and not felt. I'm sure that was because of the book's brevity but it was still remiss. I would have enjoyed seeing what happens next for the couple. I'm not sure if this book is a stand alone, part of a series, or serial but I enjoyed it for what it was.

Note: This story has mild-BDSM elements.

**My thanks to NetGalley and Emily Ryan-Davis, for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

This really is a very short read and touches of the BDSM world, just giving you a taster and inviting you in to read more especially to read the other novellas in the series.

If you are not sure if BDSM is something you want to read, this would be an easy starter into the subject.

Lauren Brant is a perfect lady in the eyes of society but inside her world she is an unhappy woman with a fake marriage. As a business arrangement she lives her life alone away from her husband, each having their own personal life.
With too much time on her hands, Lauren goes online and enters the world of BDSM, starting to chat to a man with the name "Master".
When she agrees to meet him he asks for her to tell her husband.
As she get's the nerve to confess that she is going to meet a man and that she's into the BDSM lifestyle, he runs from her and leaves.
Will her husband accept that his wife has a personal life or will he want to be her master?

Lauren is a brave girl, not at the start but as I turned the page I got to find a balanced, calm woman, running after her own dark desires and getting her personal satisfaction. I also found a sad woman, living away from the man she loved and resenting the little time that he gives her.
I loved how she blossomed into the woman she wanted to be and how her relationship worked out in the end.

Jacob was a cold, senseless man, such a heart breaker and so into his own world that he doesn't see what's around him. I really don't know if he was worth the chance that Lauren gave him ...

I loved this short story, it had everything to be a great fiction novel and it left me wanting more, wanting more of Lauren and Jacob, wanting to know what came next and not only the happily ever after.
The author gave us all the elements in a good love intrigue BDSM style love story, gave us some hot couple sex and more of it, and gave us the illusion of love conquers broken hearts and heals them.

I hope that in the future M. Ryan-Davis gives us more of this stories and I surely will be available to read them.

I am sorry to say I really couldn't get into this short book. The story is about Lauren who is stuck in a lonely and loveless marriage with Jacob. She is just around as a wife for business and society meetings. But it is not enough and Lauren ventures into the world of BDSM by joining an online group. There she meets the Master. After two years it is time to meet. She has one night of submission with The Master. But she still wants more. Jacob unexpectedly comes home after a long time away on business.....and he seems to know exactly what she wants! I just didn't get the ending when Lauren and Jacob had been in such an arranged and loveless marriage for five years? Maybe if it had been longer the story would have developed into a good story but it was just too short to get in to.
Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with a copy so that I could give an honest review.

In Anonymous a woman joins a man at a hotel to be dominated so she can feel again after her cheating husband tells her she is a useless waste. The unseen man has her at his mercy as he dominates her and praises her until she feels again. The play of emotions by giving control to a stranger is well written and interesting.

I am not really into BDSM books, but honestly? This was pretty good and surprisingly? I did like it.

The Blurb:

**Erotic romance short story, 10,000 words**

One night should have been enough.

Twenty-seven-year-old Lauren Brant is the perfect society wife. She hosts dinners for her husband's colleagues. She attends charity functions. She's entirely appropriate...except for her clawing need to submit to a man she knows only as Master.

Unable to deny her cravings, she arranges to meet Master. No names, no faces, nothing but submission and sensation. Except it isn't enough. Even before the night ends, Lauren needs more.

But "more" isn't part of the arrangement and she returns to her polished life only to discover her estranged husband has come home. After five years of being invisible to Jacob Brant, Lauren doesn't know what to do with him. He, however, knows exactly what to do with her...

My Thoughts

I am not really one for BDSM, well not normally, but there are some that drives my curiosity and seeing this offered for a free read in exchange of a review, I could not resist the temptation.

There are no regrets.

There was an actual plot and character development here! This is something that really surprised me. I must confess that I have a pre-set notion to short stories that are erotica and nature and this one did fit that criteria.

Thankfully, Claiming Lauren gave more than the usual and I am now curious about the following book - well, at least I got the impression that this was just the beginning.

Is this a teaser? I hope so...

Whips + handcuffs + blindfolds= O.M.Hot. That is the word I would use to describe this book Hot! This book was an amazing mix of sexy, steamy and secretive. I totally loved it! My only problem was that it was too short.
Lauren is the “perfect” wife who always does what’s’ asked of her but never sees her husband. She needs something for herself and stumbles upon a website. She found what she was looking for, she is no longer invisible, someone sees her! She wants someone to take control and pleasure her. Normally a doormat who does what is expected of her, she does the opposite and goes to see Master. But he has a few rules she must follow before they meet. If she breaks any of them then it is over.
Oh man, this book had me fanning myself at points and feeling her panic in others. I would recommend this book to anyone who isn’t afraid of some kinky sex. 4/5 (because I wanted more! Too short.)

If you're looking for a short book for your e-reader, this is right.
The story suggests something spicy. Master, Dominant, Submissive. But do not expect much.
Because it's just a short story. 38 pages.
The characters are interesting: a fake marriage, no children. She spends time in London, he, in the United States taking care of business.
Be suppressed by a woman in the sexual area, Lauren ends up seeking relief on the internet, and it is there that she begins to learn about Dominance and Submission. She comes into contact with a man who identifies himself only as Master, and this happens to teach her details of this aspect of the most sensual and sexual relationship. Until the day comes that she decide meet him to try at least one night of pleasure. Just that. One night.

She travels, but before she contacts her "husband" and tells him what she's gonna do.
She does.
When she back home she meets her husband at home and the big question is: what will happen now that he knows what she did?

Besides this question, others were rolling in my head: why they kept this marriage facade? Until she comes to find the website wheres he came into contact with the Master, where did the first idea come from? What happens after this encounter between her and the Master and between her and her husband?

Even being a short story, I wish the author had elaborated a bit more on the subject. The characters WERE interesting. Her husband, Jacob, appeared to be an intelligent, educated man, what was the point of that marriage?
Well, if you are not as argumentative as me, the book will satisfy you.

3 STARS.

I received an ARC for an honest review of this story

Goodness gracious. This little short story packs a punch. And a hot one at that. Lauren is a lonely woman. A neglected woman. A wife placed on a shelf and completely ignored by the man she is married to, a man who doesn't even live with her, not even on the same continent. So what does she do? She finds an online little group of sexy BDSM's and begins talking to Master. And finally, after months of emails and chats, they meet. For a sexy one night of passion with no holds barred. And Lauren is filled to nearly overflowing by this man she calls Master and how lonely and soulless her marriage is.
And then she goes home. And out of the blue, her nearly nonexistent husband is home and plans on staying a while. Just like that. And as they say, the rest "is history."

“But I want it. Love. I want love. Please let me go so I can find it."

27 year old Lauren Brant has been married to Jacob for 5 years. She is the perfect society wife but theirs is not a normal marriage, it’s a business arrangement.

Lauren is lonely and unhappy with their arrangement and is looking for something more. She joins an online group for those in the BDSM lifestyle. It is here that she meets Master and talks with him for two years learning about the lifestyle. She finally decides she’s ready to meet him but what she wasn’t expecting is how much this one-night would change her future forever.

This was a great story!! I wished it was longer because I didn’t want it to end. I found myself wanting to know more about what Jacob was feeling and why he didn’t try and develop a loving relationship with Lauren. It was only mentioned briefly about a first wife who he had married for love and had past away. Maybe a second book in the making?? A sequel I would look forward to reading!!

This was a very steamy and interesting story. The novella was too short for much character development. I enjoyed reading about the characters, and it was interesting enough that I easily read it in one setting.

Lauren and Jacob Brant have a very unconventional marriage. They live on different continents, and each goes their own way. Lauren finally gives in to her need for submission, and has a planned encounter with a man she knows as "Master." She is very upfront with her plans to Jacob, and is shocked upon her return home to find him there. All of the sudden, the dynamics between them have changed, and they have to find a new direction for their relationship as secrets are revealed.

I enjoyed reading about Lauren and Jacob, and liked the chemistry between them. This was a very quick and easy book to read. I received this book as an ARC through Netgalley.

While there are underlying BDSM themes this story is about the relationship that doesn't exist in Lauren and Jacob's marriage. There is nothing but a corporate arrangement and Lauren is done after 5 years. During their confrontation Jacob tells her not to presume that he doesn't love her and she fires back that she doesn't presume...that she has years of evidence. Her insistence that she doesn't expect him to love her but she wants to be loved and she wants him to let her go so that she can find it. This small disclosure was sharp and painful, but I admired her for it. Jacob's response is to let her go, but to reach out to her to bring her back to him at the same time. I wish that the story went for just a few more chapters so we could see their HEA. You know that they achieve it but I would have liked to have seen a bit of it played out.

Claiming Lauren's premise is something that, I believe, still happens in real life but not usually used in erotica. It's about a fixed marriage between Lauren and her husband that further developed into an even more distant relationship, since they barely spend time with one another. She then meets up with a stranger from the internet, 'Master', and submits to him sexually.

The night that she first spent with Master was sensual and was easy to relate to, in terms of emotion. And in hindsight, it was even better. I say that because there's a secret that will be revealed in the middle of the book that makes it more inclined to romance rather than BDSM.

The story and the characters were well-developed, considering the length of the story, and they were interesting, to say the least. A definite page-turner. :-)

Lauren is a high-society wife; she is left home alone with an absent husband. She feels trapped into a loveless marriage that she cannot get out of. Lauren decides to go to an online BDSM site and starts an online affair with a man she only knows as Master. Finally she decides to meet Master for a one night affair, but she called to tell her husband Jake first, after the call and realized he didn’t care; she leaves for a hot and sexy night with Master.

WOW Emily Ryan-Davis tells one hot and sexy story. I love the way she writes. It seemed like no details were missed, I would have never guessed such a short story would be so amazing. I loved the ending!! Predictable maybe but still very enjoyable!

I can count on one hand the number of BDSM books I have read and really found interesting and this book by Emily-Ryan Davis will be added to my list of BDSM books I LIKE!! Claiming Lauren was erotica and pure FIYAH!! Lauren is married to Jacob but it's not a normal union of a man and women it's on for show. There is no love or feelings in there relationship. Lauren does have strong feelings for someone but it's not here husband Jacob it's someone she only knows by the name of Master. This sexy short erotic story will have you breathless and in Ah. My only complaint is that I didn't want it to end. Job well done Emily and I look forward to reading more of your work....

Lauren is socialite wife for the last five years, but for the last three years she and her husband have let an ocean divide them. They both choose to live on separate continents.
Lauren is craving the more intimate moments and she finds them with a gentleman online called Master. One weekend she decides to go on adventure with the gentleman called Master. They meet in a hotel for a one night adventure.
The twists and turns as well as the unexpected ending made this an interesting read.
Overall the story was a solid four and half star count.

I was totally surprised by Claiming Lauren! I haven't read too many short stories but the ones I have had just been 95% sex. The surprise came in the plot twist of this story. It totally caught me off guard and was the perfect switch up for this book! And at only $0.99 it is prices perfectly. It is a great one sitting read with hot sex, bdsm and a hot hero! The only thing I didn't like about this book is that I wish it was full length! I liked it so much I didn't want it to end.

I recommend this to all Erotic romance lovers looking for a great story and a quick sexy read.

I didn't like this at all. I didn't get what Lauren and Jacob's relationship was before this weekend she spent with Master. I get that they are married and, I guess its a marriage of convenience. But, I'm not sure why. What does he get out of it, if he has barely seen her in five years? And the complete turnaround at the end is very strange as well. I understand it's short and you not much is able to be told, but it left me with more questions than the time it took me to read.

if you want a fast read that's fast to the point this is for you. Trapped in a business marriage Lauren feels lonely and spends her nights talking online to a man she only knows as master. After travelling across the country and having mind blowing sex with a faceless stranger, her husband makes a surprise return after years of being apart only to give Lauren exactly what she wants and needs.

A little sexy read that's for sure! The story is pretty transparent but still enjoyable. The characters where interesting, the only problem with short stories is I always want more!

3.95... not quite a 4 star read for me

This book initially threw me as it has a cool edge to the writing style (as dark rather than romantic erotica would be written) and I admit that I initially struggled to engage with the characters. As it went on I did wonder who master actually was and if I was guessing right!

Well, I do love a HEA and had it been longer I'd have given it 4 stars.

A second book to follow on from this would really help it. Nice and long so that we find out much more about Lauren.

Okay so I figured this was probably a short story... and I don't usually review books of this nature... but since I received it as a ARC... I guess I better try. This book was predictable and a little boring. The synopsis was more exciting than the book itself. I needed more... and I know this was supposed to be short and sweet but it wasn't... It wasn't even really rude or vulgar... just blah...

For a short story I thought the was well packed in and thoroughly enjoyable.

Even though I knew how this was going to play out, I couldn't wait to see how it played out.

My favourite part was the wedding ring, just waiting for that moment was fabulous, the anticipation of how that would be done was marvellous.

That wasn't a spoiler by the way.

One of the best short stories I have read for quite a while.

A very short story, not much of a story line and too much of nothing going on. I did finish it though to see where it was going. It wasn't till the end did I comprehend what the punch was as it was more of a blow to me for reading it.

Would I read more or would I have read more of the story had it been a lot more pages than 37? Probably not, though I don’t give up on books this one I might have.

Lauren Brant has been married to a man she barely knows for the last five years. Her marriage was a business arrangement but it’s time to break free. She plans to submit to her first master ever, her husband Jacob. This was a nice start to a serialized novel. Erotic without being over the top. However, the romance enthusiast in me wishes me her husband had actually been looking for her or knew it early on and was cultivating a deeper relationship.

WOW.

I am normally not one for short stories. They can't keep my attention as things happen much too fast and its over before you know it.

However, Claiming Lauren was a quick, fantastic, hot little number! I was disappointed it was over as quickly as it was!

I am looking forward to more in the series.
